  1. Hey everybody!! Hope everyone is doing great!! Just wanted to post some photos from my last visit of my home park: Western Playland. Western Playland was in a different location from where it is now and holds a bit of a nostalgic feeling if you talk to people who went to the park then. I had great times growing up as a kid at Playland. This is what the park looks like now with a new location and plenty of room for expansion, now if only I won the lottery, I'd be a big invester in this park!! Lots of pics of rides and ride signs for our Awesome Overlord Index Larry!! Park Map-Notice the future attractions, YAY!! Rides!! Open Space for More Rides!! Tsunami: Playlands new attraction for 09. No new attractions for 2010!! Straight ahead is Sunland Park Casino! This one reminds me of Adam!! Hey friend! El Bandito with the sun. Carousel from above!! Had alot of good runs on that one! Time to Eat!! Pizza and Fries. So these smiley faces are the parks fries. I thought they were cute!! The Round Up!! Great Ride! Smiley Fry and Round Up!! A bit blurry. 3. Hey Everybody!! Just wanted to get on and update what's going on with me. Well, tonight we would be in Philly watching U2, we know that's not happening. However, I would have to say, I had a really great time at Wildwood today!! Been in South Jersey checking out the Piers and Boardwalks. Mad Love for South Jersey!! Also spent some time in Key West, South Miami Beach, Typhoon Lagoon and of course Harry Potter, which is really good. Go ride Harry Potter!!! But... just as my U2 Philly plans changed so did my Penn State trip.. Sadly I'm not going to be able to go to these Awesome parks... Thank you to everyone who gave advice and expertise on this. All your efforts have been appreciated!!! Tomorrow I'll be catching a train and bus to NYC!! Definitely going to hit up Coney Island and Great Adventure. And I'm still planning on SF America, Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens!!! With my trip ending in Baltimore!!! I do plan on getting to these parks and since U2 seems to be playing next summer there's still a chance for me to get to them. Thanks again Everyone!! Happy Riding for summer of 2010!!! Roxanne

Only time will tell with Bono's recovery process. ^Thanks for the tips on the Wild Mouse. I'll have to strategically hit up at Dorney! ^^Thanks Matt!! 10. So the Big Buzz in U2 World is that the US leg of the Tour is now postponed because Bono had to have emergency back surgery! It's been a big deal all weekend for us. Many people planned their summer vacations around U2 shows, Like Me.... If your a fan or just curious check out U2.com for more official info. Here's an article posted today about Bono's physical state: "Bono has now been discharged from Ludwig Maximilians-University (LMU) Hospital in Munich where he underwent emergency surgery on Friday, following a back injury. In order to fully recover, he is under doctor's orders to start a rehabilitation program and to recuperate for at least eight weeks. Dr Muller Wohlfahrt confirmed, 'Bono suffered severe compression of the sciatic nerve. On review of his MRI scan, I realized there was a serious tear in the ligament and a herniated disc, and that conservative treatment would not suffice. I recommended Bono have emergency spine surgery with Professor Tonn at Munich's LMU University Hospital on Friday.' Professor Tonn, who carried out the operation, added, 'Bono was referred to me by Dr Muller Wohlfahrt late last week with a sudden onset disease. He was already in severe pain with partial paralysis in the lower leg. The ligament surrounding the disc had an 8mm tear and during surgery we discovered fragments of the disc had traveled into the spinal canal. This surgery was the only course of treatment for full recovery and to avoid further paralysis. Bono is now much better, with complete recovery of his motor deficit. The prognosis is excellent but to obtain a sustainable result, he must now enter a period of rehabilitation'. Dr Muller Wohlfahrt continued, 'We are treating Bono as we would treat any of our athletes and while the surgery has gone very well, the coming weeks are crucial for a return to full health. In the next days, he will start a light rehabilitation program, with increasing intensity over the next 8 weeks. In our experience, this is the minimum time.' I'm still going east. I'm just not gonna get to see U2 this summer, but I will get to Ride. With or Without U2, plans are still as is. Hey Thanks sugart!! I have thought about driving into NYC, but that idea went out quick because of cost. I'll look into it again and see if it's a better option for me. Also Thank You for the suggestions on Cheesesteaks. I'm up for trying something new so I'll definitely look up Tony Lukes or Johns Roast Pork. Hey Yoshifan, I don't just care about the credits/coasters, I love parks. It's just that's all I might have time for. Thanks for the suggestion on the Wild Mouse. I'll plan to hit it up first. I do remember Cheetah Chase did take forever it seemed at BG. Thanks tatertot!!! I plan to have an Amazing Time! BTW: Has anyone stayed at this place?? Granny's Motel Frackville, PA-----http://book.pahotels.com/hotel/?refid=1089&rs_hid=17816604&view=o Thinking about chancing it since it's cheap and seems a good distance from Knoebels. Let me know guys!!
  11. Hey Guys! Thanks again Noah!! Those are some good links for hotels and the surrounding areas. I can tell you Love Knoebels, I'm really excited to get this Park!! (all of them)!! Hey Larry you gave me some ideas! I didn't think about hitting up Dorney in the morn of the 16. I was thinking that day for travel only, but I think it's totally possible to hit up the park in the morning and be in NYC by nightfall!! Thanks guys! It's becoming more and more clear as time draws near!!
  12. Thank You Noah!! I'm really excited to be in the area and go to these parks. I'm still trying to figure out hotels and driving from each park. Also I think I'm gonna TRY and go to Knoebels and Dorney in one day. Is it possible to do both and still get all the credits?? I really wish I had more time to enjoy the parks for a day, but I'm just not sure. I am very happy to be planning this though!! I've been wanting to visit these parks for many years!!
  13. Thanks for the update Larry!! I'm really looking forward to seeing project complete! I'll be Manhattan this July and will definitely be making a stop at Coney Island!!!
  14. True, True! well see how things go. Maybe it'll happen for us. I'd still like to go to South Africa. The experience alone, for me, would be unforgettable!!
  15. I remember five years ago my brother and I discussed actually going to South Africa. Now that's it's here I kind of wish we would of followed through.... Football at it's finest!!

The days seem to be getting shorter and time is moving faster! WooHoo!!! Summer, U2 and Coasters, I believe the countdown has begun!!!!
  22. Thanks for the response on this Homeboy!! I still haven't decided what I'm gonna do. I'll probably end up getting a room around Busch Gardens somewhere, as well as Richmond. Just thinking I'm not sure I want to drive for 45 mins after a long day at the park. Can't wait to Ride I305 and finally get to Busch Gardens Williamsburg!!!
  23. Hey Thanks for helping me out guys!! I've decided to hit up Knoebels and if I can manage Dorney I will make every effort to. I'd really not like to be in the area and not go to one or the other.
  24. HEY, hey, Hey!!! Well, as the months have gone by my summer trip is shaping up nicely. However,... It seems I'll have less days in PA than I thought. A friend of mine is an Opera singer, he has a lead role, and will be performing on July 17. Soo... that cuts my time. I'm thinking I'll have to return the rental in Philly on the 16 and from there I'll can catch a train to NYC. So my question is: Is it possible to do all three parks in this amount of time, which would be July 13 through the 16? Considering travel time ect...?? My issue is that I would prefer to spend a good amount of time at Hershey. And if I had to choose between Dorney or Knoebls.... what is best?? Can't decide... Help!!!! Thanks guys!!
  25. Thanks for the info on this thread and thanks for asking. Now that I have I305 fever I'm planning my trip to Richmond and Williamsburg. I'll be taking a flight from NYC into Richmond, get a rental there and I'm planning on staying in Richmond. My question: Do you guys recommend getting a hotel in Williamsburg for the days I'm going to Busch Gardens? Or would it be drivable from Richmond to Williamsburg for those days?? Thanks again!!
