  1. Hershey is my homepark so I get out there several times a year, usually in the summer, fall and during the holidays, besides the off-season.
  2. The pictures are great! They are getting me all excited for my August trip out there. I surely can't wait to ride that thing!
  3. For me it will be (in order): -February/Hersheypark Chocolate-Covered February (Hershey Story Museum, Chocolate World, ZooAmerica and off-season picture-taking) -April 11th/Hersheypark Springtime in the Park and Harley private event -June 7th/Hersheypark summer trip -August 15-17th/Cedar Point & Kings Island trip -October/Hersheypark in the Dark -November/Hersheypark Christmas Candylane Since I have not been to Cedar Point and Kings Island since 1998/99, I will be able to add a ton of coasters into my credits. The ones that are definitely on the top of my list to ride are Diamondback, Maverick, and Millennium Force. I did ride Beast, Racer, Adventure Express, Cedar Creek Mine Train and Blue Streak on my last trips out there but I wasn't the biggest fan of coasters either. And next year is another Disney year, my eighth time with a refurbished Spaceship Earth and Space Mountain!
  4. I am guessing you are referring to that place down by Trailblazer that sells those pit beef sandwiches?
  5. I agree with what you all are saying about the steep pricing. But when you think about it, adding phase one of a waterpark, a new major roller coaster (and flat ride), and then expand the waterpark again....all in three years straight, I can see why the prices were raised. But ten dollars for parking is a little too far (especially the twenty-five at the Six Flags parks, but that is also due to the tremendous debt they are in). Sounds great about the free parking. I plan on buying my ticket at Giant since my friend and I will be there on June 7th (the 14th if it rains) so that will save us some bucks. The Harley Davidson thing on April 11th saved me six dollars since the company provided free parking passes to the people attending the event (got it along with the tickets from my uncle who works there). But I would rather pay six dollars any day over ten dollars just to park my car. I am happy they are considering some good deals but it's sad that it also has to take a weakened economy to do so.
  6. I think the architectual renderings for the five original water attractions (Waverider, Bayside Pier, East Coast Waterworks, Sandcastle Cove and Coastline Plunge) all had trees around the attractions (or most of them), similar to the renderings for these two attractions. When they were built, it became more concrete instead, perhaps for capital/spending issues, which may have been the same way when constructing this area.
  7. I'm sure it will be open again this fall. It ran fine and I rode it twice when I was there this past October. No breakdowns on the day I went that I remember.
  8. It is a nice park. It's even nicer now then when I was last there back in 2004 (and that was my favorite time out of the three times I was there). In fact, I predict it's going to get even nicer with Cedar Fair's ownership. I do believe Dominator, Americana and El Dorado were just the beginning!
  9. For me it would be Hersheypark and usually this is how it goes for me and my friend Alex every year: February: off-season trip to take pics, see the Chocolate World parade and if they overlap the free ZooAmerica Community Weekend, usually that. April: lately it's because of my uncle (who isn't into parks) gives my friend Alex and I tickets for the Harley company picnic which has free food and free parking! If it weren't for this, I probably would not go this month (I like HP in the Dark better than STITP anyways). June: Alex and I go for our annual summer trip, usually towards the beginning of the month. October: we do our annual "HP in the Dark" trip November: same with Christmas Candylane. So overall, my friend Alex and I averaqe at least five trips a year together. I think if I would go too much, I would get tired of it - lol!
  10. Well I think Harley contributed to the crowds. But still I got few extra rides in that I wasn't planning on doing because Midway was open unannounced. My friend Alex and I will be there June 7th, so I am excited to see the SEAqual in action. Even though alot of people were upset on the removal of Canyon River Rapids, I did think the new expansion looked pretty nice when I saw it, and it should also be a plus to spreading the crowds out more in that area.
  11. It's too bad Harley had to have it that weekend (I was surprised, actually). Usually they have it the weekend after STITP or two. I forgot the park opens the opprotunity to cater during seasonal events. I still think HP in the Dark is my favorite seasonal event. I did get some awesome evening shots of Fahrenheit (which were also my first). It's amazing how the ride appeared to look like it was open even though it wasn't. I can't wait to ride it this June when I go with my friend.
  12. This has to be one of the best Kings Dominion PTR's I've seen in awhile. I guess the ferris wheel photos make up for it. Those are awesome views, almost near professional! I haven't been there since 2004 so it would be cool to go back again! In August, I'll be heading out to its two sister parks in Ohio - Kings Island and Cedar Point.
  13. I loved this PTR! I was also there for that day too. I am assuming you were for the Harley thing. I was too. If that is the case, you probably come from the York area, right? The pictures were awesome! Yeah, the weather did clear up fast. It went from rain to mostly cloudy, to sunny. What a big difference as the day progressed!
  14. I'll also be there, hanging around with Ccron10! If you see a tall blond-haired guy with glasses wearing my "Born to Ride HP t-shirt", that will be me. I'll also most likely be wearing my digital camera around my neck. We'll both be posting photo updates to our forum over at Hersheypark Crazy and I'm sure Chris will be posting his T/R on here as well. We plan on having a meet-up at 12:30 in front of Reese's X-treme Cup Challenge for all who are interested. We hope to catch some of you there!
  15. I also saw these markings when I was at the park last week with Chris, Alex and Mary. These, without a doubt, are not for any coaster. They are most likely for utlilities, or like what sixflagsguy5 said, possibly a new stand or sign. Nothing major.
  16. This is really looking good, Chris! I hope that you do not run out of room because I am anxious to see how out in Midway turns out.
  17. Yes, we had an excellent time that day. Nice weather and, well, just a really fun time! And I must say again, that I really, really, really enjoyed this T/R Chris! Very well written!
  18. Your boyfriend was there this past Sunday? That's when Chris, Mary, Alex and I were there. Chris, Mary and I did ride Storm Runner once but we had alot more other rides to do and limited it to only one round. I think the whole coaster is massive when you look at it. I think that has to do in part with the walkway almost being located right alongside the coaster, so you see this massive structure hovering right over you. It is amazing.
  19. My friend Alex and I just returned from our annual October trip to Hersheypark In The Dark. We met up with Chris (Ccron10 from here at TPR) as well as his friend Mary. The weather was perfect and we all had a wonderful time. All coasters were operating, except Wild Mouse, which broke down later on. Wildcat and Lightning Racer were both running one train (LR had one per track), sooperdooperLooper / one train, Great Bear and Comet / two trains, Storm Runner had both sides of the station open, and Fahrenheit / two trains. Mostly everything was a walk-on except Fahrenheit, which was a 15 min wait when we rode it, and Wildcat, which had a minor wait due to only one train operating. We're back (Alex and I) for HP in the Dark again. The weather was just absolutely gorgeous to take a picture of anything in and around the park. I could just not resist these shots with the perfect blue skies. After rides on Reese's Extreme Cup Challenge, our trip heated up with the first coaster of the day, Fahrenheit. Chris, Mary and I rode it (Chris and Mary in the front and me in the second row), and the experience was the same for me as was when I rode it back in June. The second time, Chris and I rode it in the front seat and I must say that the front row is way more thrilling than the other rows. I enjoyed every moment of it. Goi'n up.... And up.... The overbank under the main drop, taken from the queue. I thought this shot was interesting. Fahrenheit amidst all the beautiful fall colors. Now onto Wildcat. A beautiful silouette of the main lift and drop through the sunset. I still believe the overall ride experience is better with the Millennium Flyers. Waiting to ride Wildcat! While we were there, we checked up on the construction progress of the Boardwalk: the Sea-qual: Farewell Canyon River Rapids. You will be missed! A huge dirt mound with lots of open space. More dirt and construction going on. Something else that I noticed was that the sign for "The Shore" wavepool was up. Treatville was also moved into Tidal Force/Canyon River Catering because of the construction of the Sea-qual. Just hanging out and having fun! We did do a lot of rides in the dark including Comet, Great Bear, sooperdooperLooper, Flying Falcon, etc. Overall, it was a great day. I leave you with this shot as we say farewell to Hersheypark in the Dark 2008! Alex and I will back for Christmas Candylane, and another trip report to follow after that. Enjoy the pictures. Notes from the day: -Comet, Fahrenheit and Great Bear were running two trains, the rest were running one train. -Wild Mouse broke down later in the day and remained closed while we were by it. -The entrance sign to "The Shore" has been added to the Boardwalk entrance. -All signs of CRR are gone. They have begun construction on the large structure that will be at the end of the wavepool by Roller Soaker. -Treatville was moved to Tidal Force/CRR catering because of the construction of the Sea-qual.
  20. Awesome T/R! The old CRR area looks so open. How come you didn't get any more pics? My and and I we'll be meeting up with Chris (CCron10) and his friend for HP in the Dark this Sunday, the 19h, so we'll have lots of pictures of the SEA-qual construction as well as general park photos. Also, what was your opinion of the old skyride station's new paintjob? Looks kind of bland, doesn't it?
  21. Wheither or not to believe this story is true, or if that woman was really that dumb to have her finger in that position. I think someone's diliberately trying to play with our minds. Seriously, if this is all someone has to do to get attention, well then they don't have a life.
  22. Rodeo was installed in 1978 and simply was known as Trabant. It was located in Music Box where the Tiny Timbers are now, I believe. When Balloon Flite was relocated to that location from Carrousel Circle, in what I believe was 1988, this sent the Trabant out to Pioneer Frontier where it was re-named as Rodeo, replacing the Timber Rattler ride. If you listen to it, the motor does seem a bit loud. I don't know if this has to do with the ride aging or if these types of rides all sound the same. I'm surprised it survived over other rides like the Cyclops and Conestoga, which were newer when they debuted. Even when I was at the park on a Sat in June of last year, even with the heavier crowds, that overflow queue alongside the ride was still empty. In fact, it's been some while since I saw a majority of its line full, so this comes to no surprise. They really need to stop removing their flats and not putting any more in. Flats aren't that much of space killers, if you find the perfect place to fit them in. Hershey really needs to gun down and buy some more flats in the next season or two. We have enough coasters to make all the roller coaster enthusiasts happy (like myself). I'd say they need to devote next year to a couple of flats, similar to what they did with the Flyers and Claw in 2003. That would help round out their ride collection quite a bit.
  23. Hey, I was told not that long ago that there is an expansion pack that goes for the monorail ride in RCT3. Now I don't know if this is a monorail cover for the existing ride or if it's a scenery pack (like Vodhin's Sky Way Kit). Does anyone have such a set downloaded? Any links to download it? I was also told that Vodhin is also doing a ski lift kit as well. Anyone know the progress on that one? And the Skytower kit that was in that Hershey Park Tennessee thread. Where can I find that one? I never even knew it was around until I first read that thread. Would be very useful down the road. If anyone knows any info on any of these sets and if they are either released, or has a link where I can go to download them, it would be appreciated! Thanks!
  24. I love that Skytower. Where did you get the CS for that?
  25. Hey Anthony! I just sent you an important email about the HPBuzz thing. Please read it and get back with me ASAP! Thanx -
