  1. I don't think the Lightning Racer experience has changed since its opening day. IMO, Thunder is rougher than Lightning. I always prefer taking someone on their first ride on Lightning before Thunder. Oh, nice pics by the way!
  2. We all knew this was coming, so it shouldn't be a surprise to most of us on here, at least not me. From the looks of the diagrams, it's all situated very nicely, but I feel that they could have also added a flat or two next season as well. Wave pool looks okay. I'll definitely be over there next getting lots of pics next season.
  3. HPBuzz? Never been there but if he is trying to get professional quality, maybe we can work together. If you email him or whatever and let him know of our situation, I'll be in touch with him immediately. Maybe we can merge together or something. I think HPOnline and Hershey Central did that right before of the demise of those two sites. Could be something worth while for both of our sites. I have plenty of info (including my history timeline and themed area info) that would be very beneficial. I'd love to work with him if he would be interested!
  4. No actually we have been on a roll. Chris was (and I think he still is, but life keeps him busy) a temporary site that we would launch until we could find someone to help make a professional looking site for us. I also am very creative in logo design, but my life has been busy right now, that I just haven't had the time to sit for hours at a shot tinkering around. I did try to come up with a concept a few days ago, but again, not enough time to sit and tinker with it. I may give it a shot again in a few day, but we would also like to see other people's ideas, as they may have better ideas than I would. Also, I think Chris was aware of that domain after he launched this thread, so the name can be changed at the mods attention. We talked about other names such as HP-Crazy.com and so forth and whatever would fit in there. So we aren't just sitting around waiting for people to do the work for us. We have been active in trying to get this thing going, but it takes more than just us to help make it work.
  5. Hersheypark - approx 45 min (no traffic delays) Dorney Park - approx 1 hour further than Hersheypark Knoebels - about the same as Dorney Dutch Wonderland - about a half hour or a little over (I know it's mainly a kiddie park, but this was my "Hersheypark" as a kid until 1995 - lol)
  6. Cool! Loved how you took my drawing and spiced it up a bit - lol! Anyways, I have been envisioning the current employee lot beside Wildcat (you have it marked on my drawing) as one of the best ways they could expand. That's another possibility for a new section right there. Then, they could move the employee lot across the street and tram employees over there. Having the employee lot across the street would work with the four-way intersection of HP Drive, re-routed Hotel Road, and HP's parking lot exit. Would be the best alternative. I don't think expansion between the stadium and arena would work because the old arena is still be used (see my last post in this topic), and the stadium still does the summer concert series and sports all year round. The entrances to both venues are also right there, as well as HP's disabled guest and bus parking lots. I'm sure once the Museum closes, that is a facility that could be utilized somehow. Maybe move whatever went into the former HERCO headquarters in there, make the former HERCO headquarters part of the park if they would decide to take the boundery over there, besides possibly re-routing Park Blvd / Chocolate World's entrance to go around it.
  7. Hersheypark Arena isn't going anywhere. It's still being used as the Bears' practice rink, as well as sporting events for local schools, as well when HERCO opens it for public ice skating. Also, it has a special moment in history when Wilt Chamberlain scored so many points in there. Plus I think HP has some of their offices in there too. Now remember that the Hershey Museum is closing for good on September 2nd, in preperation to move all the exhibits to the new Hershey Story museum slated to open in December. What does this mean for the park? They could possibly use this facility for something. It's indoor, so somekind of indoor attraction maybe.
  8. You're right, Fahrenheit's lift hill is one of the best (or if not THE best) on a coaster. I thought it was very intense going up the lift alone. Couldn't tell how far we were from the top until we crested. I think the ride itself is a combination of Great Bear and Storm Runner, put together. Intense and smooth, plus a fun ride, altogether. I can't wait to ride it again! I also rode Coal Cracker (twice to be exact) on my June 8th trip, and the ride was running as good as ever. Drop also looked like it was repainted. Won't be leaving anytime soon. Too bad you don't have any pictures to share. Nice T/R by the way!
  9. How many flats did they remove since 2003? Here's what I came up with: -Cyclops -Conestoga -Giant Wheel -Western Chute Out (idk if this can be considered a flat/water ride) -Chaos Then maybe Rodeo at the end of this season, possibly. Howler was a start, as it was very fun how you were lifted in the air and spun your cage around. Brought back alot of memories of the old Giant Wheel, just not rotating 135 feet in the air. Whip is also another decent flat too. But those two aren't enough. We need a good Huss Top Spin, Intamin Drop Tower, Huss Troika (Triple Spin at KD which I loved!) and another Enterprise. IMO, those all are a good start. It seemed like they had way more flats in 1983 (the year I was born) than they do right now.
  10. Tidal Force isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The ride is just as popular (or more) than CRR, in that people can get very wet (or soaked) without even riding by standing on the bridge or the "Wet Zone" path by the splash pool. A lazy river and wavepool can both be fit into CRR old location. Just look how they manage to squeeze other attractions into the place. That's one thing HP is noted for. Oh did I also mention they need more flats? ....
  11. I don't know if I have a close up of Wildcat or not. Those were the only close-ups of the drawing that I could find right now. I'll have to get some other close-ups uploaded and posted on here so you all can see them. Maybe I'll get a close-up of Wildcat down the road.
  12. Here are some closer shots of the drawing. Let me know what you think: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/HPCrazy/Hersheypark20073.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/HPCrazy/Hersheypark20043.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/HPCrazy/Hersheypark20052.jpg Whenever I can find more and get them uploaded, I'll continue to do so with this thread.
  13. Thanks so much for all the compliments! I never really thought this thread would ever go this far, but I am amazed how much attention this drawing has seemed to attract around here. I'll continue to update it, as Hersheypark changes, the drawing will change. pacoasterrider: Thanks so much for the comment. That meant so much to me. Actually, it would be a little too large to hang in anyone's living room, lol!
  14. Think about it all....why would they place two water coasters side by side? Aren't Setpoint Swing Things (Roller Soaker) and Aquatrax's pretty similar in that they are hybrids? I'm guessing (and am pretty sure) that it's a lazy river and wavepool we're getting.
  15. An Aquatrax being built right next to Roller Soaker, a "Setpoint Swing Thing Water Coaster." Oh my, two "water coasters" being built right next to each other, doesn't make any sense to me. If it's going to be a Boardwalk expansion, expect a wavepool and lazy river, and maybe a new slide or two. That's my two cents.
  16. I just worked on it as I felt like it. There was really no timetable to have the thing completed. It was just something I wanted to do in my spare time, and since the other drawing attempts of the park that I did because impossible to continue (due to everything becoming out of scale), I went to work on this one (using lots and lots of researching tools besides knowing the park off the back of my head) and all that research really paid off, as this has been the longest I have gone without having to go and start all over again.
  17. This is really turning out great! The station pieces look like the real thing. You are really moving along with this. Now only you can get Fahrenheit and Storm Runner's track pieces ready for your HP RCT3 recreation so you can continue with it.
  18. I'm glad that my Hershey drawing sort of inspired you to go and draw your homepark. Are you thinking of doing the whole place like I did, using sheets taped together? That would be interesting. I'd like to see it.
  19. I thought your screenname looked familiar! Nice to see you here! Thanks. I didn't know you had an interest in art. Do you like to draw? I'm assuming you live near CGA (like I do with HP). You ought to give it a try sometime, if you have all the right resources available to guide you through (like with mine). Good luck if you ever do!
  20. Thanks again for all the support and comments. I do have some closer shots that maybe I may be able to post here, so all you guys can see close-ups of my work.
  21. He has the trusses for Fahrenheit's station done. I saw them, and they turned out really great.
  22. To set the record straight with padresguy619's post, I don't sit all day and work on a drawing, especially when I did this one. First off, I have a full time job so I work eight hours a day, five days a week. I usually devote time to drawing if I feel up to it, which is mostly in the evenings or on weekends if I am not occupied doing other things.
  23. Haven't really measured it, but the whole thing unfolds to a rather large drawing, which also includes the entire parking lot and Giant Center. I am trying to fix up some things at that end, so it is currently not ready for anyone to see.
  24. I just sent an email (with a link to the 2008 map image) to the park. I basically told them about the drawing and my love for art and amusement parks, as well as my first experience on Fahrenheit and the left front seat of Great Bear. So let's all keep our fingers crossed!
  25. I know, but I was wondering if anyone at this site may have contact within Hershey management, that they could see this. If I could, I would love to take the drawing to Hershey myself, if only I knew the person/people within management I would need to arrange to meet with.
