Here's to hoping for a Colts vs Bears Superbowl. And it would be great if the Bears could pull off the win with Grossman. Of course, the AFC is a whole different league, has been for years.

PTR: Jahan goes to Disneyland!
DerekRx replied to arrowfanman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
mmmmm, Bengal Barbeque, free tortillas, and Indy. Suckin Space Mountain may disappoint me, but at least I know I'll have other things at Disneyland to keep me happy. And don't worry, Jahan, if Cali's speakers blow, you can always use the 'Derek overlay soundtrack' -
I decided to start off today with some Rogue Shakespeare Stout before moving on while watching the Chargers game. Shame they lost to the ever annoying Patriots. Oh well, looks like its time to root for Chicago to go all the way, as I hate all the other teams in contention. I know I'd take good SoCal brews over living in New England any day of the week! The Chargers may have lost, but they still have excellent beers they can drink tonight Sweet, chocolatey, coffee, and hoppy. Excellent stout Big props to Kim for picking up this rocking stout

So far today I went from York to Harrisburg to Camp Hill to Reamstown, and now finally back home, all in the name of beer. I even had a chance to talk to the owner and brewer, Tom. Expect 2 Maibocks, a stout, a pale ale, a lager, and a kolsh when it opens Finally, here's the progress on Union Barrel Works in Reamstown. It should hopefully open by mid-February More New Belgium stuff for Heath, the 2 Below, their winter ale As awesome as I remember it, very well balanced So much for Matt having one up on us with Fat Tire Ellen, feel free to cry over my Frankenberry, a mixture of Lindeman's Framboise and Franziskaner Its a nice up and coming beer bar/restaurant with a nice selection. Here Heath enjoys a Rogue I2PA We were kinda hungry, so the next stop was the new Brewhouse Grill in Camp Hill Followed that up with more samples of Rugged Trail Nut Brown for Heath and HopBack for myself Pale Ale for myself and Mad Elf for Heath Our first stop of the day was Westy's. But then we headed over to Troegs for some free samples and to buy merch

But wait! There's more, my friends! Now that that pesty 6 pack is finished, there's room for the bombers...[/u] It's like apple, only without the apple. In any case, it's tasty, and we all enjoyed it. Until tomorrow... Finally, for dessert, its all about the Gueuze from Lindeman's Oh! Now THAT is an amazing stout!!! And almost finally, its time to enjoy the Stone Russian Imperial Stout Oh my! What a great Red Ale, glad I purchased this last weekend Next in line for consumption...The Reaper Redemption Red Ale mmm, guacamole! and since Kim is our wonderful hostess, plenty of salsa and avacado to go around Oh, but don't worry, it rocks. And when the brewery starts distributing again, more of you will enjoy it like we do How about 2 pints of Reaper Deathly Pale Ale, something hard to come by these days. Coaster geeks, here's a hot chick...wearing a park inspired apron, while holding lots of great beer...what more do you need!?

Tonight was all about drinking, and thats what we did. The only thing better than drinking on a Friday night is drinking on a Friday night with some of the BACT team, like Heath and Kim! The horn dog was pretty tasty, but we're not done yet! Finally our "6 pack" ends with some Flying Dog's barleywine It's definitely a Belgian ale! Hello alcohol We've not yet begun to defile ourselves, next in line...the Urthel Hop It More creamy and chocolately Oh, we've only just begun. Next up, the Bell's Kalamazoo Stout Loads of cherry flavoring, even Kim dug this one majorly Follow that up with a Matt Anniversary Special, the Bell's Cherry Stout. WOW, amazing! Still quite dreamy. Get ye to some place that distributes! Followed quickly by the Special Double Cream Ale See? We don't lie! mmmm, Bell's Pale Ale, oh so crispy yet still so hoppy Don't worry, Matt. You're next on our list. Happy anniverary, from all of us and our Bell's! We know our friends, and we salute them! Hey Wally, this Dortmunder Gold is SO for you!

That's funny! It hasn't even snowed in Pennsylvania yet this year. And I wouldn't mind if it didn't! As pretty as it looks, it stinks to drive in (not so much that I can't drive in it, but SUV Soccer Mom who can't drive to begin with suddenly thinks her SUV is more indestructible and able to track better, and then she plows into you on the road).

^I don't know where around here its available. I got my bottles down in Maryland or from Adam. Contact him, maybe he can pick up a 4 pack for you before Eastcoaster. Your best bet around here would be a singles or mixed 6 shop, but I have no clue if there is any in the Allentown area.

Um, ok, now I'm really scared! Earlier this week I was drinking and thinking like Heath, now tonight I drink and think like Kim! Lots to enjoy on this Thirsty Thursday, just priming myself for another weekend. Not nearly as hot and revealing, but still sexy in my own right and finally, while enjoying Smallville, I think like Kim and go all Redbach Good and creamy, oh so dreamy Finally I give that Guinness a chance to be enjoyed, in float form On the way home I picked up some ice cream, so its now time for my Beer Float Takes me to a place where things are more relaxed, only I'm still in cold PA and didn't get any flyer miles Next to bat, the Green Flash West Coast IPA This is the look of one enjoying the "been on the burner too long" coffee flavoring mixed with lots of watered down blahness first on the list, the last of the Wild Goose variety pack, the Classic Porter

On top of the apparent lack of voice dialing and no physical dialpad, lets not forget about EDGE only. Oh, and the slim with no removable battery. That ain't gonna cut it in the business world. My guess is they'll end up making some super cool iCharger that'll cost another $150, but you'll be able to plug it in at your desk, a wall, the car, etc. Oh, and of course it'll be nice and shiny.

Tonight I was thinking about another stout, but this time a stout float. Unfortunately I had no ice cream, so I held off on that idea for now. I did discover that I hadn't tried Tom's selection for the BACT mixed case, so tonight I decided to give that a shot, and make it Belgian night. All that was missing was the Belgian Waffles. I think it tastes even better in the proper glass, even if that glass is chipped (Heath)! Since I was already feeling Belgian, why not break out a Lindeman's Framboise for dessert The taste didn't disappoint The Leffe Blonde, a nice Belgian ale, smells very sweet and Belgiany

OMG, that was seriously the best work you've done yet, Tomi. The whole musical number, Dan's interruption, all the cameos in the flashback was histerical! I'd even venture to say it's a heck of a lot better than anything this season on the Simpsons or Family Guy. Keep up the good work, you've got great talent, not just in comics, but also animation!

This is one "smart phone" I'm really not interested in at all. I've had plenty of them in the past that have built in mp3 players and computer programs and games and internet and email and such. The thing that I don't like at all is that it is ONLY touchscreen, making it really difficult to dial a number without looking. Oh well, thats just $500 I can save for another coaster trip or future phone.

^^Yikes, maybe we're spending too much time together! Tonight I also went with the Lagunitas Censored (The Kronic). A nice dark tasting amber ale that was really sweet with caramel and chocolate, and also had a hint of fruits and a hoppy finish. Pretty tasty stuff. Hooked on Kronic works for me Kinda stouty (like Heath says), but lighter

Happy birthday dude. Just think, no matter how old you are, Jeff will always be older. Hope you get lots of pie tonight!

^Glad you enjoyed it. Tonight for me was a different Winter ale, Geary's Winter Ale, from D.L. Geary brewing up in Portland, Maine. This is another odd winter ale, as it wasn't very malty at all. It was more along the lines of an English IPA; bitter but not citrusy or piney. It was easy to drink, but the taste was just meh. Ahh, now this is what I need to watch the Gators tonight Time to alleviate with some real hops, Stone style Weak in winter, more of an English bitter Its finally winter again, so its time for a "Winter Ale" from Geary's

Tigger hits kid at Disney World
DerekRx replied to Zen Coaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, I like how the kid had to go to the ER and is "feeling fine now, but he's on pain killers" If the kid got injured from that costume padded tap, I'd hate to see what would happen to him if I sneezed on him, he'd probably end up decapitated. What a terrific family of New England hoodlums. -
Sunday would start us out at another Mad Mex location in Pittsburgh before going back home to watch the Eagles defeat the Giants in the Wildcard game. Of course, we did it with some brews. Nice and citrusy. And that was our weekend. Pittsburgh may never be the same again Halftime, Eagles are winning, the stout growler is gone. Next up, Big Hop! A very good stout, pretty much tastes like a good worn boot, all leathery, smokey, and bitter Then it was back home to watch the Eagles game while enjoying some of the East End growlers we picked up. Black Strap stout first Which was a bit too hoppy still for Kim Followed by his own glass of Hairy Eyeball and some Rogue Morimoto Pilsner for Heath, highly alcoholic Thirsty Dog Hoppus Maximus for me, pretty good In Monroeville is the newest of the Mad Mex's
-
Our final stop for Saturday (woohoo!) was the Sharp Edge Creekhouse, not too far from the Mad Mex (at least I don't remember it being too far). Pretty good assortment of beers, though I prefer their Emporium location better. and finally, to finish the night, some Lindeman's Framboise Look at all the people enjoying Bell's Two Hearted on draft! Janna enjoys some Cherish Kriek, nice and cherryish Great Buffalo bites Pretty good food too and some hoppy mystery beer! More Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald porter Some Anchor Steams and Edmund Fitzgerald Lots of taps to drink from, they're bound to have something for everyone Creekhouse, finally
-
Next in line was one of the Mad Mex's nearby. Mexican food and awesome craft beers, 2 things I love so! afterwards, it was time for a Fresnonian Dance Contest with a Mariachi band and everything. And Ted drank something too, because he drinks beer like us, even if he doesn't post it While Heath drove 3.5 hours to have something that is brewed 1 hour from his house, the Stoudt's Winter Ale For me, it was all about Flying Bison, this time the Aviator Red Not too far from Bocktown is one of 3 Mad Mex's in the burgh
-
Next stop was another fairly new beer bar outside of Pittsburgh, Bocktown. Cool little place with a great selection of bottles. and hooray for a mixed 6 of Bells and such! and hooray for a good meat and cheese plate! Feeling all Buffaloey, I went with the Flying Bison Blackbird Stout oh yeah, we drank there too. Like this Bell's Hell Hath No Fury Ale and holy crap! You can also take home a HopDerek!! I've never seen that to go before and Dogfish Head, awesome!!... and don't forget the Great Lakes brewing selection... As well as some coolers and Victory stuff... Awesome Bell's bottle selection... Don't worry, Wally. These dortmunders won't go to waste, but they will go to waist and they've got a lot, don't they jaco!? Heath is all "I don't know what Bell's product I want" wow, they've even got Glutenfree beer for Glutenfree! Here's the newest on the Pittsburgh beer scene, Bocktown.
-
Next in line was a stop at one of the only breweries in Pittsburgh, up and coming East End. Business is really going well for Scott, mainly from growler sales. And so, with some Black Strap Stout to finish, we're done at East End Tim points out some guy Dave worked with who now volunteers at East End I think it can! Could this get any hotter? Heath is all growlered up and ready to roll With all the free beer, Tim digs this place, while Greg just wishes they'd make Glutenaid faster ...while Janna gives one of the best hop faces ever! I like the Big Hop IPA... Time to enjoy some Snow Melt, the winter warmer As you can see, Scott's really got himself a following Dude, they're representing my hometown of Reading with the Neversink/Fancy Pants keg. Awesome! In 3 Floyd's fashion, here we are! Yup, its just a little warehouse, buried from common site, unless you know what you're looking for. Even Greg didn't know about this, and he lives 5 minutes away
