The InBev/Busch Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to milst1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree that if no connection exists to the brewer free samples don't make sense. However, as long as InBev runs the parks at the very least the Brewmaster's Clubs should exist as they serve as a great way and inexpensive way to generate buzz and word of mouth around new products in the pipeline. If I was inBev I would also keep the free samples but only serve lesser known/newer products. Unfortunately, InBev does not see it the same way. Of course once InBev sells the parks it makes perfect business sense to cut off the beer. -
I visited Circus World also and have foggy memories most of which are spurred by photos that were taken at the time. My sister and I also had our faces painted, but my brother declined. I remember riding the Florida Hurricane and the anticipation after seeing billboards all over Orlando proclaiming it the fastest wooden coaster in the Southeast. I remember riding the shuttle loop and using a whole roll of film trying to catch the train completely upside down. I remember the Big Top and the performers inside. I even remember my siblings and I riding on the back of an elephant. Actually I don't really remember the elephant ride but I have a picture of it somewhere and I know it was from Circus World because all the kids in the pictures have on clown make-up.

You might want to view the PTR again as your question can easily be answered. There are multiple pictures of riders in the restraints. -

Be happy they are not closing down the parks and turning them into strip malls. -
Either of the following circuits can be done as a 3-4 day detour. Drive east to Waldameer, then south to Kennywood, then west to King's Island, then return to Cedar Point. Drive Southwest to King's Island, continue west to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom (although this park can be skipped), then proceed northwest to Holiday World, then north to Indiana Beach before driving back to Cedar Point. There are plenty of parks within 5-6 hours, but making a circular route will save you driving time.

HersheyPark or SFGA or other ???
larrygator replied to niceroez's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It depends on what you prefer: If you want to experience the best and most coasters, then go to SFGAdv. If you want an immersive theme park experience, then go to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. In my opinion, HersheyPark is the most complete amusement park in the area, providing both excellent coasters and fun flat rides. -
List the parks you have visited in 2009

I was there the night of January 1st, but only got a couple of rides in with the cold. Returned for most of the day on the 2nd. -

Photo TR: Alpine Coaster at Park City, Utah
larrygator replied to coasterer's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I haven't been on this one in Utah but I certainly consider the one at Jiminy Peak exciting and thrilling. I don't care if it's a coaster or not. It's still a blast. I'm driving out of the way coming home from Dollywood on Saturday to try the one in Western Maryland. -
Hey I fixed that for you Hector Unlike Jeff Johnson, Legend of the Title Fairy never gets old!!

You are probably in the minority in your opinion but are certainly entitled to it. Ginzo - please refrain from comments that add nothing. A better response would have been "Who cares, both parks belong on the moon" Examples of why some one might not care: 1 - You assume Cedar Fair is the #1 park 2 - You assume Magic Mountain is the #2 park 3 - You assume Diamondback will put Kings Island anywhere near the Top 10. There is a reason why "park vs park" and "ride vs ride" threads are frowned upon. They cause senseless flame wars. If this continues into on the thread will be locked pronto.

Everyone - Please don't forget the Golden Rules of the Title Fairy.

Questionable Top 10 Coaster List
larrygator replied to PhillyGirl's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm looking looking to offend anyone or knock anyone's opinion. My comment was an inside joke as I have met PhillyGirl and her son on a trip and when I questioned her son about what he liked best at a park, he responded with "the ice cream". And there were very good coasters at that park. -
Questionable Top 10 Coaster List
larrygator replied to PhillyGirl's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What did your son say about the list? What is his top ten? I would bet "30 bucks" that his list would be better than the one in the book. I would bet "30 euros" that Cameron would choose to have a good ice cream cone over riding half those coasters. -
The "fit" of PTC trains
larrygator replied to KenniB's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Where did you get this info? The average person could not fit in a seat that size comfortably.
