Help requested in saving costs on a trip I'm planning
larrygator replied to Tanks4me05's topic in Ask Alvey
Check each park's website for discounts, Quassy has a few http://www.quassy.com/tickets/special-offers/ -
Got another clam myself. I've pretty much wasted the past two days with this stupid game. I need to get some work done. I built 20 standard office buildings side by side to rake 400 coins every two hours.

In that case a Wooden Warrior type coaster would fit the bill for you. Thrills for all and not intimidating. -

You need to learn the meaning of a "5 year plan"! -
I view the Adventure Alley addition as the first step in the process. However, the park still has many areas they need to address. Upgrade flats What to do with the baboons? Something will happen. Rebuild the Rolling Thunder plot and possibly expand eastward. Reconnect and reconstruct the closed area from the Batmans' to the main path. Redo the Kingdom of the Tiger area. Luckily the park is not broken as has the resources to address all this, just not all at once.

Why????? She may last a while because she is no threat. They may want to keep her around because she hasn't done anything. They might want her in the final three. She is perfect Final 3 material. I don't even think she could get fellow beauty Morgan's vote.

I wouldn't complain about something like Maverick or iSpeed, but I don't see it happening. There are to many little things that need to be addressed first. The park dominated the markets (unlike SFMM) so they don't need to spend all their capital expenditures in one place to bring in the crowds. The crowds are already there. I would not mind a comfortable EuroFighter like Dare Devil Dive. A Wooden Warrior type might work, also. Curious to see how Roar-a-Saurus is welcomed in Storyland.

I don't understand why a new launched coaster next to an existing launched coaster is not redundant, but an RMC next to a El Toro is redundant. Especially after a wood coaster sat next to El Toro since it was built. I think a launched family coaster make sense as the next coaster for the park. Or a dive machine. Sure as an enthusiast I'd prefer an RMC, but the others make more sense for the park's demographics.

In that case if you have enough days you can do the following do maximize your Cedar Fair pass. Weekend One - Starting in Philly you can visit Dorney Park on Saturday and hustle down to King's Dominions for Sunday (5 hours apart). Week One - swim in the ocean and explore the food of Philly to NYC region Weekend Two - Get to Cedar Point for Friday night and spend the day there on Saturday, also. The 4 hour drive to King's Island is a drag but if you rotate drivers it's not a problem late at night or early AM. If this is Columbus Day weekend you'll have an extra day for park's . Week Two - you have time to weave from Cincinnati through Chicago to Minneapolis in search of food. You could always hit Nick Universe at Mall of America since it is indoors. Weekend Three - Valleyfair on Friday night, Saturday afternoon. Drive to Kansas City for Worlds of Fun on Sunday in 6 hours. Then all you have left is the 24 hour drive back to California. Disclaimer: I have not looked at park calendars to confirm theses park usually have limited hours on Friday nights in October. And be ready to purchase Fast Lane, you'll need it. That would be the best way to maximize a CF pass if you have 2 1/2 weeks. It's crazy but doable.

Theme park mega holiday
larrygator replied to amarci87's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
With light traffic: Philly to NYC is 2.5 hours, NYC to Boston is 3.5 - 4 hours. It all depends on your exact start and end points in each city. -
The number is fifty, right? Fifty coasters to be considered an "experienced" rider? I thought that that was the only difference between the weight of votes - those with under fifty, and those with more. You are completely misinterpreting why and when well traveled riders have more input. Our votes are not counted more, but there are coaster comparisons that we can make that others can't because they haven't been on the same coasters. Using iSpeed as an example, in head-to-head it lost to Eejanaika 4-3, if Elissa puts iSpeed higher than it is one less loss for iSpeed and increases iSpeed's winning percentage. iSpeed tied Crystal Wings in head-to-head, if one of us ranked iSpeed higher, iSpeed winning percentage would be higher. iSpeed lost to Dinoconda head-to-head by one vote I think you see where I'm going now! A well traveled riders votes are only "more valuable" when it comes to comparing coasters without a lot of mutual riders.

Photo TR: Lagoon's Opening Day 2014
larrygator replied to rcdude's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Silverwood is actually nowhere near Lagoon (it's a good 11 hours northwest). You'd be better off doing the Colorado parks, Las Vegas, and perhaps Cliff's Amusement Park (if you're up for the drive) if you want to make a trip out of a Lagoon visit. I'd rather drive the 11 hours from Lagoon to Silverwood to ride good coasters than drive 7 hours to Denver to ride crappy coasters. -
Just because RMC is on site doesn't guarantee an RMC in the future. They could be helping with El Toro or they could be surveying the land as part of an upcoming bid process. Sure an RMC would be nice but let's see what plays out. Lastly, if the build on the old Rolling Thunder plot, they can expand into the baboon area a little. There is more room now that the cars don't drive through that area.

Tony is going to have to keep the dead weight Jeffra and Trish with him in the final 3, forcing others to vote for him.

Clam from Ollieland, about time.
