  1. ^ I have a feeling it's only a matter of time till RMC builds something custom for Silverwood. They are after all just down the road from the park and have a great relationship. Missed this story but this is just terrible. Hopefully they have been charged.
  2. Nice Report! I honestly can't wait to get back to MM! (Well at least to get my remaining credits)
  3. I'm ok with not knowing anything about this ride till I ride it!
  4. I mentioned earlier that I revived my gift but was gonna wait till my receiver posted his but it don't seem like that's gonna happen so here is my gift! I never mentioned liking Knoebels or the Haunted Mansion but I really love both of these things! The prefect gift for me! Thanks a ton secret Santa!
  5. I think it would be very difficult for a company to simply replace that many employees.
  6. I use Facebook the most and sometimes browse YouTube. Don't really use the rest but I do have a twitter account.
  7. If anyone is interested Ride Sims added a Maverick simulator.
  8. I had someone at King's Dominion offer me their extra comp ticket once. It was unexpected but convenient.
  9. Sorry I didn't get any photos of it. But here is a photo from the index. It's like a powered Alpine Slide and you get to control the speed.
  10. That machine was really awesome! It is a shame we will probably never see this installed over here.
  11. ^ If Knoebel's picked up a Schwarzkopf that would be an overload of awesome!
  12. Hello again all! Here is our next stop... Nagashima Spaland! This day started bright and early as we had to pack our bags and get them put in storage since we had to pick them up later for our flight to the northern island. We also had to be at the park early so the Travel Channel could film us on Steel Dragon. After another train ride we were met at the station by a convoy of Taxis to take us to the park. They dropped us off at the back of the park where we went through an employee gate and the film crew had us sign our release forms and they took our picture before we were let into the park to wait as they finished getting their POV and we watched as Matt and Lauren were filmed for the show. White Cyclone While they filmed the park opened up White Cyclone for us so we could get some ERT. The ride wasn't bad at all actually but I only grabbed one ride as Steel Dragon was ready for us. Steel Dragon 2000 This is the star of the park so I was really looking forward to the chance to ride it! I love Morgans so I was really looking forward to this one! They also just switched out their old trains for a new train by B&M so I was also looking forward to this. Unfortunately though the ride was rough. It was still a fun ride and I'm glad to had the chance to ride it though. Wild Mouse The park has a twin Wild Mouse and we were warned that most days they only run one side and that was the case today. Ultra Twister Next was my very first Ultra Twister and this ride did not disappoint! The switch backs are a very weird feeling and the twists are pretty fun. Bob Karts Next was this this really weird ride. You sit in your car and choose how fast you want to go through the course. Looping Star Unfortunately today would be the day most of the rides would be closed fortunately though both Schwarzkopfs are open! First was Looping Star. She was running great. Shuttle Loop The next was my first shuttle loop. The launch is a lot of fun! Children Coaster Next up for our credit was the Tivoli kiddie coaster. Nothing special. Peter Rabbit Coaster Our last credit today was the powered coaster. After this we did the giant Frisbee and got some Curry for lunch. Haunted House While some in the group did the Star Flyer we did the Haunted House. It was pretty long and had several good scenes. Giant Wheel Aurora Next up was the Giant Wheel for some photos and to take a break in the A/C. Giant Viking Next me and Sean wanted to try the giant swinging ship. They only run in every 15 minutes which we didn't realize when we got in line so we had to wait in the direct sunlight. The ride was about the same as your typical swinging ship. Steel Dragon was closed for 30 minutes for scheduled daily maintenance so we got inline for a quick ride before we had to meet the group to head out. We grabbed a ride in the back. After that we met the group and got our taxis back to the train. We picked our bags up at the hotel and headed out to the Airport. The nice thing about Japan airports is how efficient everything is. We had our group checked in and at our gate in about 30 mins. While we waited for our plane we grabbed a snack. The flight was uneventful and was a nice break for a nap. We got into Sapporo after dark and grabbed another train to the Sapporo station where we had a short walk to our base camp for the next few nights. Next up Hokkaido Greenland, the sights of Sapporo and the Beer Museum! One our way to Nagashima Spa land! There she is! Our group being being dropped off. Looks nice so far. What we are all here for! We watched several test runs. The film crew was also busy getting their POV. The new trains do look nice though. There are the stars Matt and Lauren. A look at the lift hill. "Brought into Ban" While the crew is busy setting up lets head over to the park's other huge coaster! We will get to the mouse later. It was pretty fun! And looks nice too! Finally our turn to ride! A closer look at the trains. Next credit A look at the trains. Bob Karts was next and really fun! The first of two closed Intamin 1st Gens. Sigh... I do love these rides. But hey atleast the Schwarzkopfs are running! Pretty Next up was the Shuttle Loop Launch I loved this ride! Ohhhhh Glad to see Nagashima Spa Land keeping theirs. This park loves their swinging ships! Next up the kiddie coasters. Pokémon is still going very strong in Japan! Steel Dragon towers over everything in the park. Lets do the Corkscrew! There is the station. Ohhh... It will probably open in like 15 minutes. Another look at Looping Star The Haunted House Lets do the wheel Steel Dragon doing its thing. White Cycone The Twin Wild Mouse Pretty nice park. Over view of the Looping Star White Cyclone over the bay. The layout of Steel Dragon Even from above White Cyclone is impressive! The train looks so tiny compared to the rest of the structure. Going down... Seriously not bad! The enterance The Giant Viking Ship A view of the wheel and convenient if you forget your watch. Good bye Nagashima! In Japan there is no TSA... there is just Ninjas! Next up Sapporo
  13. ^ I preferred the straight drop as well. The fake drop was a neat experience though. I didn't see it anywhere but I really wasn't in the aquarium that long. But the do have a piranha tank you can stick your hand right into... if that's your thing?
  14. I'm really excited to see what he comes up with next year. You see all kinds of home haunts but not often you see a home dark ride.
  15. I would not be surprised at all it is removed, it looks great from around the park but the ride experience it self is nothing special. If Battlestar is removed that would open up a decent plot of land.
  16. Unless you have really good job security in one place than I really can't see it being worth it. That's a huge chunk of change to put down for too many "What ifs".
  17. Cedar Point always has some crazy weather. When I worked there during one of the fall weekends we had a crazy storm come through that took several trees down and ripped the Matterhorn sign down. Being on point during the winter is even worse. That freezing wind coming right off the lake is terrible.
  18. I love seeing Australian parks! One of these years I will make it out there. Thanks!
  19. I doubt they will get a new ride having just opened Flying Turns maybe a kiddie though. I'm sure they plan on heavily marketing Flying Turns.
  20. The second half of our day took us a little ways south to Sea Paradise. Now this park doesn't have a large number of rides but it is in a nice location on it's own island. It is a marine animal park / amusement park mix and features one of the best drop towers out there... Blue Fall! Blue Fall After leaving the train it was only a short walk into the park and after getting our wristband we all made our way to the park's signature ride Blue Fall. Now the neat thing about this ride (Well besides being 300ft tall) is that there are two different drops you can choose from. You have your normal drop and you have the fake drop. The fake drop is where after reaching top and being released your car falls about 10 feet into a set of brakes before being dropped for the rest of your fall. It is a really weird feeling. I put this right behind Lex Luthor for my favorite drop tower. Surf Coaster After our Blue Fall rides we wanted to get our credit so we made our way to the other side of the island. Surf Coaster is a Togo but honestly it wasn't that bad and it's in a nice location where it hangs out over the water so half the ride is above the bay. We than did the sky tower and made our way around the park. Pedal Boats Sea Paradise has a typical pedal boat ride but it has dolphins in the pond with the boats. The dolphins also do tricks... it's really screwed up! Whale Show/Aquarium The main attraction for the park is the aquarium. It's a large complex with lots to see. The aquarium also features a show with dolphins, seals, a penguin, and a whale shark! After this we did one more ride on Blue Fall before heading out. The park also offered a Carousel, a swinging ship, some spinning rides, and an upcharge ice house and Haunted House which we didn't do. Next up is Nagashima Spaland! Welcome to Sea Paradise! After getting off the train I seen this in the train station vending machine and as I am a fan of the show I had to try it. It was like a berry flavor energy drink. This is the 20th Anniversary of the park. Heading across the bridge to the park. Getting closer! The first thing you see is the carousel. The sea train which loops the park. I also just noticed the ride names on the side of the cars. Looks nice! There she is! The greatest! Freaking tall! Carnival House Next up is some Togo! Here is the sign. You can see here how the coaster extends into the bay. Colorful trains. Steve looks like he liked it... Anth looks confused. Overview of some Togo All that remains of the boat jump. Looking towards the weird giant bridge into the park. Looking towards the Aquarium Looks innocent enough... Dun dun... dun un... The dolphins also do tricks around the boats Really weird Panormama Dolphins Surf Coaster in the distance From the stadium towards Surf Coaster The park also had a very intense rapids ride. Time for the show Standard tricks Whale Shark circled the tank the entire show but did one trick After the show we went to the best family restaurant around A friendly reminder to not be an idiot One more ride! Viking Some of the rides had cartoon network themeing That's it for Sea Paradise What's this??? Find out this weekend!
  21. Great time for this report! Every time I see this park it just seems very charming.
