  1. I'll be there the same day, but I won't be able to get there until 7ish. I plan on trying to hit the big 3 Intamins in a row.
  2. I was there twice on Saturdays last summer. I agree with everyone else, head straight to Superman. You should be able to get 3-5 rides in a row with it a walk-on. Later in the day, Superman will definitely be at least a 45 minute wait. Afterwards, I would get on Roar and V2 since they're right there and still should have minimal waits. Later in the day, V2 should still have less than a 15 minute wait, but Roar could be up to a half hour if there's one train operations. If you want to ride the river rapids ride, go on it now since that gets over an hour later in the day. Medusa should be about a 20-30 minute or less when you get to it. The only other ride that could have a sizable wait is the Sky Screamer.
  3. Will Olaf be at the park the first week of June? I saw the pictures of the walking character with Robb and my sister is a die hard Olaf fan.
  4. I'll be super pumped if this is open in two weeks when I go to visit. If not, I'll be back later this summer.
  5. It also needs to be smooth. Kingda Ka had a quite a bit of a rattle towards the back of the train. It's still an amazing ride, but all of the other accelerator coasters I've been on have been glass smooth.
  6. Awesome photos! I agree about the Gerstlauer OTSRs. Canobie's Untamed is a great ride, but it's hard to ride it more than 3-4 times in a row. I'm glad they seem to be moving towards lap bars on some of their newer ones. For the final ride photo, is that a Power Surge? I've never seen one without the typical colors and adorned with the words "Power Surge" on the side.
  7. I would have no problem seeing more of these coasters pop up. I loved Superman over the summer. Despite the ride taking up an incredibly small footprint, it was better than the large B&M floorless across the park (just slightly though). The ride packs a massive punch and is a real adrenaline rush. The capacity was low, but other than that the ride was great.
  8. The corkscrew and end helix are the best parts of the ride. The corkscrew really whips the train through the element while staying glass smooth. Then the final turn pulls quite a few Gs. Flight Deck is outstanding and my favorite invert outside of Dragon Challenge.
  9. Any idea why Gold Striker went down? I remember the lift was an issue last year.
  10. How tall do they think Intimidator is then? I go to an engineering university and overheard a few guys from video club say that they were planning a trip to Six Flags in California to ride a highly themed ride based on a video game. I was really confused, but then I realized that they were talking about the train wrap that they are putting on Goliath at Magic Mountain for the Monster Hunter video game. Will they be shocked when they travel cross-country for that.
  11. Straight from the website: Please be reminded LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston is a children’s attraction. Adults must be accompanied by a child in order to enter the attraction. Please book into one of our exclusive Adult Nights, starting this Summer, if you wish to experience the attraction. I wonder what the adult nights are like, but that seems like the only opportunity for those of us over the age of 21 without kids.
  12. At Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Superman is the park's top coaster right after Medusa. The ride was a big hit with the GP, so I could easily see the ride attracting guests if they decided to market it. This is quite possibly the most puzzling campaign, or lack there of. I agree that the space between the straps seems rather small, but as long as the straps are fairly short, they shouldn't impact the ride too much. Superman is such a smooth ride that there wouldn't be any headbanging.
  13. The locations in Chicago and Boston had the dark ride. It's too bad I wasn't able to visit it per the no adults allowed without a kid rule. I genuinely just wanted to check out the dark ride and Miniland USA.
  14. Canobie Lake Park needs to upgrade the Yankee Cannonball's brake system so that it can run two trains. This would greatly speed up wait times. I understand upgrading the braking system would be costly, but I would easily take that over a new flat ride.
  15. Power Surges are quite intense, but a lot of fun. I especially love the rare ones that still have a rotating base (Knoebels is the only one I've had this on). If you can handle inversions, give it a try. Make sure to ride facing forwards for your first ride as it's less intense.
  16. At Disneyland this past weekend, I was walking by the Matterhorn, which was down for rehab, and heard a teenager explaining how the ride was closed since they ran out of snow. Conversely, I also ran into a really knowledgeable kid in line for Indiana Jones. He knew that the ride stood where the Eyepre lot used to be and showed me the sign behind the projector.
  17. Sounds exactly like my school. We ran out of housing two years ago, so the school closed down an old dorm, built a larger one, and then admitted more students.
  18. I was at the park last year in the days leading up to the 24 hour event and the 24 hour event itself. While the 24 hour event day was definitely more crowded, crowds were fairly manageable and the park did a great job handling it.
  19. Just a heads up, Great Movie Ride and Toy Story Mania are both Tier 1 rides so you can't reserve them both. Definitely reserve Toy Story if you can only pick one. Doing all the rides in 24 hours is nuts! I'd really want to try that someday.
  20. It's Cedar Fair. Clearly it's for a trash bucket.
  21. I have to go with the Voyage. The lead up to the ride's announcement was great and the final renderings made my jaw drop. I didn't think a ride could contain that much airtime. I still have to get out to Santa Claus, Indiana to ride it someday.
  22. Once this opens, it will be interesting in a few years to see where people flock to when the park opens. While this isn't as tall as Bizarro, it looks like it's going to give the park one of the top 1-2 roller coaster punches in the world.
  23. Agreed! The green and blue should really stand out when you enter that end of the park.
