I just got off the ride and really liked it. I had about an hour wait and rode in the back. I'd rate the ride a 9/10 and slot it in behind my top 5. The ride's layout and pacing is great. I loved the laterals too. Almost every hill had some airtime. I'd say it was floater other than the drop after the old MCBR. Based on the reviews on the ride in its state last season, the upgrade is a major improvement. I'd rate my wooden coasters like this: 1) El Toro 2) Phoenix 3) Boulder Dash 4) Cyclone (Coney) 5) Comet (Great Escape) 6) GhostRider 7) Gold Striker

RMC Part Recall

Twisted Colossus closed right after my one and only ride about an hour ago. -
If Pandemonium only has a 15 minute wait it's a slow day at the park. I don't want to think about what the Superman would be like on even a moderately busy day. Personally I've never seen a wait over an hour for it, not even in it's opening year or during Fright Fest. 105 minutes is ridiculous, and it's a Thursday. Yeah I won't be going back to that park this year. lol Opening year, I remember Superman had a 2 hour plus wait most weekends. Usually I see the line at 30-60 minutes, but I have waited 90ish minutes on really busy Saturdays before.

Memorizing this part for my Sept. visit. Actually, and I only remember those from 1997, are there any other rides with FP... and the same advice goes? Get the FP first, then ride it if the wait isn't long? (I suspect Peter Pan will be like this IF I want a second ride.) Honestly I think it's smarter for Hyperspace to do Standby first and then grab a Fastpass after your first ride. When I was last there the Fastpass queue (just to get a Fastpass) was all the way out past the Captain EO theatre and standby was listed at 60 minutes at the park opening but really was a walk straight into the station. Including the forever-long queue the total wait was 5 minutes. By the time we rode and looped back around the Fastpass queue had disappeared and they were giving out Fastpasses for noon-ish, IIRC. Long story short, standby first thing in the morning, then grab a Fastpass immediately after. Also, Peter Pan in California doesn't have a Fastpass option. But it's also the weakest ride in Fantasyland, IMO. Go ride Mr. Toad a thousand times. I think my plan in 2 weeks will be to ride Hyperspace first, get a Fastpass for Hyperspace, and then run over to DCA and try and get Fastpasses for both Radiator Springs Racers and World of Color. I'd rather be running around like a mad man than standing in line.

I rode Wicked Cyclone in 5 different visits last year, and the first 3 visits were glass smooth. The final two visits had vibrations. It wasn't painful, but if definitely felt weird. I thought they had gotten it straightened out since my rides this year have been outstanding, but that's sad to hear the vibrations have returned.

Marathon riding?
Canobie Coaster replied to AllisonY2K's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The best marathons that I have ever had have been at Funtown USA. In a few of my visits during the week at the end of August/early September, the park is a ghost town since all of the kids in Maine have gone back to school. I believe I rode Excalibur for 2-2.5 hours straight one time without getting off. A few of those rides were with just me in the train. While a short Marathon, I got three straight rides in a row on Boulder Dash last Halloween at the end of the night. Any seat on that ride is legendary once the sun goes down. You're a real trooper. How did your head feel after marathoning Viper? -
Do You Bother With Water Parks?
Canobie Coaster replied to Golddisk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like the water slides, but not the capacity. I probably do it backwards, but I only like going to water parks on cooler days or towards the end of the day when the lines are down. I don't mind if it's cold as long as I can maximize my slide time. If I am limited on time or the ride park is exceptional (ex. Cedar Point, Hersheypark, Knoebels, etc), I will skip the water park. If I have a full day and the water park has some decent slides, I will stop in. If the water park has a water coaster/master blaster type slide, it becomes a must ride. -
First Visit to Disney World!
Canobie Coaster replied to coasternate's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know some people drain themselves if they go both early and late, but definitely make sure you either get there at opening or stay until closing if you want to maximize rides. At the end of the day, Disney will lie about the wait time on major attractions to keep it died down. For example, Seven Dwarfs said an 80 minute wait at 11:50 pm but we were on within 5 minutes. Some park specific tips: Magic Kingdom- Seven Dwarfs will have the longest wait in the park. If you can Fastpass it, I highly recommend it. Or go at the very end of the day. Most people go to this ride first, so lines may not be shory in the morning. I'd recommend going to either Tomorrowland or Fantasyland first to ride the mountains. In the first hour or two, lines should be below 20 minutes. By midday, these will swell to 60-90 minutes. Epcot- With Fastpass plus, you can only reserve either Soarin' or Test Track (not both). Soarin' is identical to California's, but if you want to ride it, I recommend fastpassing it since it usually has a worst wait than Test Track. If you're in a group, do Test Track first. If you want to save time, the single rider line is usually 15-20 minutes at most. You don't get to design your own car though, which I don't mind since it doesn't really impact the ride. After that, I would recommend doing the Sum of All Thrills ride in Innovations. It's a cool roller coaster simulator but it has a very low throughput. You should make sure you eat at the pizza place in Italy. Make sure you see Illumination. Studios- Toy Story here has a 90-120 minute wait. It's a great ride, but if you have already been on it, I would recommend reserving Rock n Roller Coaster since that will be new for you (can only get 1 or the other). If you do want to ride Toy Story, fastpass it and either do Rock n Roller Coaster during extra magic hours or use the single rider line. Make sure you ride Tower of Terror multiple times since it's lightyears better than California's. For shows, I recommend the Indiana Jones stunt show and Fantasmic. Animal Kingdom- This park may have the fewest attractions, but it is the biggest so be prepared to do a lot of walking. The park also feels very hot since shade is lacking in some lands. Everest, Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, and Killimanjaro Safaris are the big 4 rides. Of those 4, I'd fastpass them all but Dinosaur. You can usually get on Dinosaur in 30 minutes at worst. I recommend doing the safaris first thing since it's cooler and the animals are more active.
