^Just because there's a ton of people in a park doesn't always mean they're bringing in the big bucks. You have to look at who's coming in, for how long, what they're doing while they're there, etc. Magic Mountain was in the same boat a few years ago. Coaster after coaster kept the turnstiles spining, but they were still loosing money. X, Deja Vu, Goliath, & Riddler's Revenge all had 2+ hour waits, but there was no money coming in. Begin Rant- Sea World San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas are within minutes of each other. So are Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Great America. Six Flags Magic Mountain also has it's hands full with Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and Universal Studios as local competitors. I can all but guarentee that not a single one of these parks steal any signifigence from the other. Unless SFA was sold to a company that was willing to beef up the park, and invest millions upon millions of dollars to compete with GADV, Six Flags could wash their hands of this park and never have to worry about it again. Cedar Fair will never invest in a park to outshine Cedar Point. Universal or Disney wouldn't take it because the transformation from sub par thrill to fun for all ages would be to great. There aren't any other operators that could compete financially with SFGADv. Sell the damn thing! -End Rant.

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom to get a "new" hyper coaster in 2010! Six Flags Over Texas Flys into thrills in 2010 with a Flying coaster! ...need I say more? Six Flags doesn't have to sell this park to get rid of it, just never open it and ship the rides off to other properties. From the sounds of things to come, this may be a reality just beyond the horizon

I went to the park last night, as I was in the neighborhood and decided to see what was what. One train on Colossus, slow dispatches at Tatsu, and the park could have been a litte cleaner and better staffed, but other than that, I didn't see anything that was that horrible. And what trip would be complete without the last pic of the skyline! ...and Backward! Forward... The mighty Deja Vu! This airtime hill seems kinda unnecessary...now Green is Mean!! Up next, was the world famous question mark ride. The "Highlighter" Green Lantern! Up next was Batman-which also had no wait. ...more art... Artsy shots First ride in-Scream!...As you can see had no wait. ...but since the park was a ghost town I don't think anyone missed it much Log Jammer was closed... Tatsu holding down the hill Main gate shot

Well judging from the info. in the press release, I still look for this to be an "Air" type ride. That's not a bad thing of course. It just gives us an idea of wht the ride will be like. I'm looking to see a lot of lie-to fly, fly-to lie, and a lot of banked turns. No pretzel though. Maybe if Cedar Fair bought a flyer...but I doubt it.

Surprise crotch buster

I'd have to say that Mantis still takes the cake. Mantis is a certified POS. I can honestly say that is the worst B&M I've ridden. -
Best Theme Park Chain

^Based on that logic, how much longer will that be your favorite chain? It doesn't seem like it will be pushing those limits anytime soon. -

^Over the midway a la Silver Bullet @KBF -
Every rollercoaster there except Gold Rusher, Deja Vu and Superman have breakrooms under its station. With 7 people in Dispatch, including the panel operator, means 1 is operating the ride, one is training, and 5 are trainees. When do leads/trainers train 5 people at once? And if they're attendant training, why would they be in dispatch?

Post your milestone coasters

^Save it for Superman Krypton Coaster. One of the Best B&M's ever built! -
^Well that all depends on when you visit, if your with a special group etc. Magic Mountain made an effort to have every ride opened on time and fully staffed on Tatsu's Media Day due to the media being there. Of course the park slipped back into it's old habbits once the news vans left and Del Holland went back to whereever it is he went when not in the park.

Inversions vs. Angle of Descent
Bolliger&Mabillard replied to JDo217's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yea, Xcelerator's banks are pretty close to inversions, but no one mentions it. -

I'm stuck at 79 until I take my vacation to Dorney/Hersey/SFGAd next summer! 1. Viper SFMM (at the ripe age of 9!) 79. Pony Express KBF is the newest coaster I've been on. -
B&M vs Intamin
Bolliger&Mabillard replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I agree. You can fill up a park with nothing but Intamin rides and no two rides would be alike. B&M on the other hand...I'm still not fully convinced that inverts and floorless trains create different rides. B&M isn't going to turn any heads until they build something with a launch, i mean with a launch they actually build themselves. -
Unexpected Queues
Bolliger&Mabillard replied to jason10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode Maverick in June of 07. 5 hour wait with 20 people ahead of us. Damn thing kept breaking down after maintainece signed off on it. I'm suprised no one mentioned Roger Rabit at Disneyland. I always thought it funny that the instant you walk in the queue, you have that wall with the window in it where you see the loading dock, so you think you're there, and then it takes that right turn into the extended queue house.
