  1. Does BTMR really need an enhanced backstory? I always thought it did just fine as it was.
  2. ^ I fully approve of the example provided by the link contained in that post.
  3. This is a debate? And here I thought it was a joke...
  4. Slipknot - Psychosocial
  5. If SFMM really was as in touch with their loyal clientele as everyone seems to think, then why didn't they call it CholoCoaster?
  6. For Rocky Mountain Coasters: Do you guys have as much fun with the "But the wheels are gonna' hit the bolts!" comments as we do?
  7. Is the height limit really due to the airport? I mean, I don't doubt that it is, it's just that it's not like I've ever witnessed planes just barely missing the tops of rides. The tallest rides in the park could be 4 times higher than they are and the planes still wouldn't even come close. How much buffer is considered enough? As for the Rocky Mountain treatment not being likely for Grizzly, I couldn't agree more. It doesn't need topper track since it actually runs pretty smooth now. It's still a turd, but at least it's a smooth turd. A full Rocky Mountain makeover, along the lines of NTAG or the new Iron Rattler, would make little sense considering that they're adding Gold Striker. There would little in the way of marketability for it since the majority of park guests would think it's just the same old ride. Besides those points, Grizzly still gets pretty decent ridership despite being a pile of crap ride experience. Add all that up and you're left with the only hope for ever getting rid of Grizzly being someone acting carelessly with fire and flammable liquids in close proximity to the ride.
  8. Another big reason that it's so dissapointing is that they used the acronym YOLO to announce it.
  9. Now instead of the wheels hitting bolts they're going to be hitting pop rivets. Priceless. What's next? Will Rocky Mountain use bread bag twisty ties to hold the rails in place on their next project? I can just see it now... "Oh noes! Teh wheelz are gunna hit the twisty ties!"
  10. This multi ride addition is certainly better than what it's replacing.
  11. 13/24 and I was super lucky with a lot of my guesses. I'd say I actually knew maybe 5 or 6 answers.
  12. A ride similar to Jambo had its gondola crash to the ground with riders aboard several years ago at Liseberg. While I enjoyed Jambo, it was certainly a wise move to remove it if was likely to suffer the same type of failure.
  13. The only sandwich that will get me to wait more than 15 minutes is the Monte Cristo at the Blue Bayou.
  14. It's pretty impressive how the coaster stayed mostly intact as it fell off the collapsed pier.
  15. What would it be if you couldn't remember correctly?
  16. Vortex the year it opened at what was then Paramount's Great America. Top Gun which came along a couple years later was, and is, far better
  17. Maybe they can serenade the chick that whined about Knott's monsters' "abuse" with this one...
  18. I thought it looked odd at first as well. The rail on the right in the foreground of the picture is upside down, so you're looking at the portion of the rail that the upstop and side wheels would be touching. If you study the picture a little more it will all make sense.
  19. Oh noes! Teh wheelz gonna hit all dem boltz!
