  1. Thank you for sharing the beauty that is California, and the hilarity that is the Bebes.
  2. They are feeling pressure from Carsland. They're feeling it at their own turnstiles. Many visitors to the Disneyland resort will choose to add on a couple other area attractions to their vacation package. With Knott's being so close, it's a popular choice. Remember, the three most important things in real estate: Location, location, and location.
  3. Carsland and the rest of the DCA overhaul had to have helped Knott's as well this season. I hope they can see their way clear to invest in a substantial dark ride. If getting rid of Pony Express is part of the deal, so much the better.
  4. The batwing on Viper has never been an issue for me. It's the right hand turn that leads into the transition for the first corkscrew that I always have to brace for. The rest of the ride is fine in my experience.
  5. Probably, "Longest time with out new rollercoaster." QFT!
  6. I understand and respect the comments for or against it, but personally I still can't get my mind wrapped around the idea of a portable slingshot in the chain's flagship park... I'm left to wonder if there will be a Carnival cruises kiosk nearby? Way to stay klassy SFMM.
  7. I can only imagine the kind of clientele that a Six Flags water park would draw in Vallejo. No thanks. Raging waters in Sacramento is bad enough.
  8. After reading all the whining on the internet, Six Flags has decided to make things right. Those are supports they're going to add to the top of the Superman tower so that Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom can actually drop the originally planned 400 feet.
  9. It looks like they paid a bit of tribute to the old Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland on the backwards section of the ride. I love it!
  10. What, exactly, do you mean? Every bumper car ride I've been on has a public address system. It's generally used to let the riders know when the ride is about to start and again when it's going to stop. It is also frequently used to remind the riders that head-on bumping isn't allowed.
  11. As far as coasters are concerned, given this park's past record, come back in another decade or two and we can have that discussion. Of course by then they will have removed 3 coasters.
  12. OISU8P, specifically request a table near the water when you make reservations, or have your parents do so if they're making the resevation themselves. Be sure to have your parents confirm with the person that checks them in. Also have them be prepared for a wait that may be just slightly longer for a water's edge table. I've always got a table near the water when I specifically asked for it when making my reservations, but it has resulted in anywhere from 5-15 minutes extra wait a few times. It can be difficult to make out exactly who you're looking at as they pass by in the boats, so a text to let them know you're on your way is a good idea.
  13. ^ Type the word l*o*c*k*e*r*s without the spaces in between and you get lockers. It's a word filter that was put in during the exhaustive discussion about Six Flags' new item storage policy a few years back.
  14. 14/30... I suspect I will have to beg forgiveness for my sins if I am to be allowed into roller coaster heaven.
  15. God, I love this thread. The entertainment never ends. Please do carry on.
  16. Believe it or not, the sun WILL come up every day between now and when the ride opens. Planning a trip that involves any considerable expense to any park with a name other than Disney or Universal attached to it probably isn't the best idea.
  17. I'd like to hear this chick's take on what SCBB should do in regards to a new coaster. (not really)
  18. At least it's fairly close to the ground if it required an evac from valleying in the loop.
  19. I do wonder how they control the possibility of an overshoot when the train is going backwards towards the top of the non-inverting loop to gain the momentum for the trip up the first vertical spiral tower. Is there a brake, or launch component, near the top of the loop? It makes me wonder if that testing video was specifically testing just for the purpose of where the limit is before an overshoot occurs, or if that's how it will normally operate. I'm sure it's all figured out by the engineers, but it does still make you go, "Hmmm...". In any case, I still look forward to riding it soon.
