I think you are clutching at some very big straws there. -

If you submit a planning application for the house, it gets granted and then you build a house that looks different the council can tear it down. Of course thats what the track will look like, whether its B&M I doubt it but we will have to see. Can't believe the hysteria this is causing from some spotty little 14 year old kid posting from his bedroom. -

How the hell can you have your two main rides down on the opening day of the season. This park has some serious issues its the same every year. -
I live about 20 minutes from Southend and this project will never happen. The main problem is that they have never been able to get the money, also there would have to be a lot more than a roller coaster up there to get people to travel up there. They have looked into getting a really nice restaurant up there with a top chef. adventure Island have put a proposal forward for taking over operation of the pier but nothing has got past the council. Its a nice idea but its just not econmically viable also its pretty windy and cold up there. To the person that said Southend is a dump, it really isn't that bad anymore the council has spent a lot of money on the town and the high street, it now has a huge university and two shopping centres. Adventure Island is a very succesful little family theme park where they build a lot of there own rides. Its no Brighton but its not that bad.

Thanks Any particular way to get a cheaper deal because I didn't think they were that cheap considering the length of the flight? -

Anyone know when this ride is suppose to open, I'm planning a trip to Northern Denmark and would like to ride this and the new coaster at Farrup Sommerland? -
I'd be gobsmacked if they get 25 million visitors through the door a year.

Oktoberfest 2007: 77 Photos of total fun and great rides

You need to go to Scandinavia to see a sexier race all the women are stunning! There just are no ugly people! -
Not sure whether the park is getting a GCI or GG, but after riding Troy and Thunderbird over the last few months they will have a winner on there hands. They are both great family rides, troy a little more intense. Six Flags wants to get families back in there parks and installing a 200ft hyper coaster isn't going to get that audience where as a really very good 100ft wooden coaster will. Also the minimum £8 million price difference between a hyper coaster and a wooden coaster may have some effect in the decision as well.

331 feet Giga Coaster coming to Heide-Park ?
aflack replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't undertstand what you are saying, are you saying that if Heide build the tallest traditional coaster in the world there is no point in them marketing it as that because people won't care? Of course they will, if I said to my non coaster enthusiats friends do you want to ride the tallest traditional coaster in the world they would def make the trip from the UK. -

Any idea what that massive area of land is being cleared for then if not for the Giga coaster? -

I would imagine some sort of large launched coaster may be in the works or a motorbike coaster some tie-in to the go karts. -

This is a very nice up and coming park I visited last year and Thunderbird is a fantastic ride. The bloke that runs First Drop visited for an artcile and he said that the park have 2 more coaster projects in the pipeline one large scale coaster and one more medium scale so I think we might see one of these next year maybe. -
Thorpes 10 looper is an off the shelf ride, hence the fact there are now two of them, with another one planned and the one in Brazil which is almost the same bar two inversions. A custom designed B&M inverter with 9 inversions would cost a hell of a lot more than Collosus which I think cost £10 million including all the themeing. For a park that isn't doing that well financially such an expensive ride wouldnt make very much sense.

UK suffers from lack of woodies
aflack replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm pretty sure the reason Intamin will be chosen for the AT wooden coaster is because it is quieter than the other makes. I would expect to see a GCI or GG at Flamingoland but thats only a guess. I am only guessing at this but I don't think GCI or GG would build more than 2 or 3 coasters a year and in 2008 tripsville is getting a GG wooden coaster and I thought Dorney Park was recieve a GCI so I guess that means either make could be built. -
I'm fly out of Madrid to Peru on the 5th of April and I have 5 days before then for visiting places in Spain flying between the cities. I have been to both parks in Madird a couple of times as well as Port aventura. I was hoping to visit Terra Mitica and Isla Magica in those 5 days but I'm not sure if the parks will be open on week days? Secondly realistically i'm not going to visit these parks again for quite a while so i would rather visit them when the new rides are open. I guess its unlikely that Terra Mitica will have the ball coaster open that early in the season, do you know if the SLC will have been moved by then and the new trains will be on the wooden coaster?
