  1. I'll be passing through Alicante and Seville at the start of April do you know when these rides plan to open especially the ball coaster? Thanks
  2. Logically it may not be that much money for what you get but considering PBB is in a poorer area of the UK, I just can't see them selling that many. Who buys season tickets, I would imagine teenagers and kids mainly, most kids parents could probably stretch to £90 but to then almost double the price I think is a step to far. Considering PBB hasn't installed a major attraction since 2000, most of the people who visit the park will have riden everything there many times and I have no-doubt Traumatizer will do wonders for the park but is it worth an extra £80 a year..........
  3. Just found out that season ticket prices are going up from £90 a year to think it is £180, can't see them selling many at that price.
  4. Isn't just a medium size spinning coaster, I thought this was pretty much confirmed?
  5. The Blackpool log flume was the oldest log flume outside America, it was somewhere around 40 years old!
  6. We had a rubbish visit as well in July 2005, it was about 35 degrees and really humid, the wait for the Fujiyama was an hour and a half and the queue was only 100 meters long, the slowest loading i have ever seen. Doponda was like an oven never go to that park in the summer, the queue is in a shed the air-con units were turned off and it was well over 100 degrees in there it took us an hour and the queue didn't even exit the shed, I've never sweated so much. We waited an hour and a half for the master coaster, the park is too expensive and generally rubbish, it makes SFMM look good.
  7. Walibi Belgium is very close to Brussels where as Walibi World is pretty much in the middle of no-where. I went ther earlier this year and it seems the only things nearby are lakes!
  8. It wouldnt surprise me to maybe see Goliath moved to Walibi Belgium or whatever its called because that park gets over 2 million visitors a year!
  9. Not sure if you know visitor number but Walibi World only gets about 750,000 visitors a year and thats with all the coasters there so I would very much doubt they would be getting any more large coasters. It just seems strange that Six Flags would spend such a large amount of money on a park that is in the middle of no-where and with such low visitor numbers!
  10. Are you serious when you say Terra Encantada is about to close, as I was planning on visiting Rio in the next couple of years?
  11. In all honestly I thought El Toro was over-rated. I rode it on July the 6th at 9 o'clock in the back seat and going on what some people are saying it should have been the best rollercoaster I have been on! Really the ride consists of a great first drop, two great airtime hills, a turn around, two average airtime hills, the drop over rolling thunder which has loads of air and then the ride just goes through a load of S curves and just kind of ends. Seriously I'm from the UK so I'm not bias in anyway, but this ride just sums up so many large new coasters these days, people hype them up so much they are just a bit of a let-down after you come off. We rode Nitro after in the dark and to be honest i preffered it and thought over the course of the ride it has a lot more airtime. Also where is the fun in having all this airtime when you are just rammed into the restraints on the crest of every hill. To me Phoenix at Knobels sums up a great airtime wooden coaster you spend a lot of the ride actually floating, its great fun. Maybe El Toro would be more fun if they didn't stapple you in so much and actually allowed you to feel some of the air! I think Balder is a much better coaster, its feels more out of control and you still almost the same intensity of air buts its over 7 or 8 hills instead of just 4!
  12. Its been posted on Screamscape with a link to an offical link that in 2008 Toverland want to add a powered Mack inverterd coaster and by 2010 the want to have phase 3 of the indoor park open, in effect doubling the size of attarctions. Have a look, there is also what looks like a picture of a model of the Toverland wooden coaster, I can't read Dutch though maybe someone can translate. www.screamscape.com
  13. Doponda! Nothing beats the violent airtime on tha thing!
  14. Also with this new ride coming from Gerstlauer, what do you think are the chances of seeing a Gerstlauer Mouse at the park in the next few years, I'm assuming that the Pier Drop ride that was proposed was going to be one of these but never got permission. Do you think we will see a smaller version in the future?
  15. Hi Stuart, I'm from Rayleigh and use to live in southend so Adventure Island has always been my home park, I remember it right back to the days when the Wendy Glide was there and such! So its great seeing how the park has developed over the years, it was a bit of a shame to see it was aimed solely at kids as i haven't visited much over the last few years but hopefully now with the Eurofighter it will pull me back. Do the park want to ain themselves at everybody now with the introduction of this new thrill ride or do they still mainly want to focus on kids? Also got to agree £19 is just to much, considering no-one pays more than £15 to get into Alton Towers or Thorpe Park!
  16. I think it said in First Drop that it would be a standard Euroflighter design so i reckon it will be like Typhoon!
  17. In first drop the IAAPA issue, the guy writing the article said there were rumours floating around that it was a LIM launched Intamin coaster of some sort! So although not certain I think that there will be a good chance it will be along those lines. he isn't uaually wrong.
  18. The architects I work for is producing all the drawing for the Restless Planet building. One of the rides is called Runaway Raptor and the other the something river ride (sorry can't remember the name but it begins with M). Of course these could just be project names and not the final names. There is also going to be a IMAX/cinema type attraction in there as well as some kind of earthquake/volcano type show/ride. There is loads of exhibition space. Not sure what the Huss ride is everything is on hold at the moment not sure why as its not my department but its all pretty much designed. I thought the Mack ride was going to be a coaster but when I asked the other week they said it was more like a monorail/slow moving ride, so we could still be looking at the powered coaster of some sort.
  19. Any idea whats happening to that other park being built outside of Rome? The artistic rendering made it look amazing!
  20. I'm visiting |Sao Paulo next year, how easy is it to get to Hopiu Haris by public transport as I won't have a car? Also how easy is it to get to that park near Rio that has the Intamin 8 looper again by public transport. Any help would be great, thanks!
  21. Dubai Dave, Can you tell us anything about the propossed theme parks there, like when they are due for completion. The architects I work for is working on the design of the Restless Planet area and I think our work is due to be complete early next year. They are signing up the ride manufacturers at the moment I believe their are two German companies but the actual budget for the 3 rides is larger than the building which is 60 million pounds in itself. I heard that the water park/sea park is due to be completed in 2007 but I think maybe thats a bit to soon? Is this Snow World place you have posted pictures off, the one that is being built in Dubailand?
  22. This is another article about another theme park or three of them by the sounds of it. It is being designed by the people that designed Parc Asterix. Think they are being called the legends theme parks. http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=151080
  23. The architects I work for are designing the Restless Planet one now, think that is going to be finished in 2007. I'm not allowed to say what is going in but I am going to be producing some marketing images in December so i should be able to post them when they are published. I have foloowed the project from the start, there are two theme parks aren't there? A water park, a sea world type park? From the earlier models I saw there was a Intamin reverse free fall themed to a serpent? I take it it has all changed now?
  24. Looking at doing a cheap weekend away to Hamburg and I just want to know is it easy to get from Hamburg to these two parks. I have had a look on the german train website and it seems you have to change a few times and catch buses to get to both parks. To get to Heide Park on the website it says saomething about a direct bus but I can't speak german so its a bit of a struggle to read. I think it says you need to catch the bus from the bus station in Hamburg called Zob, is this right? If yes do you need to book or can you just turn up? Thanks.
