It's been a while since I've played RCT2 & was looking for some of the newer custom flats but can't seem to find them since it seems that alot of the original custom ride makers like AE have gone into retirement & I no longer have the links to some of the other sites. In particular I'm looking for a tumblebug style flat that I saw in one of the screens on another site the other day.Does anyone know where I can find some of these(and the tumblebug in particular) for download?

Were did you get some of the custom flats? I know that AE went into retirement quite a while ago so he couldn't have made some of them such as the rainbow.I saw some custom flats on another forum in one guy's park that looked to be a sort of tumble bug ride & am wondering where I can download it from any ideas? -
The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread

I'd have to agree with that... I just can't hear myself going, "Lets go ride Possessed!" Anyways, I read somewhere on another forum that Cedar Point has a contract with Intamin to construct 5 coasters before 2010 is over. Anyone have any information to back this up or is this just a silly rumor? That's definitely a rumor which has NO truth behind it.The economic downturn in recent months/years does not support it & CF isn't about to waste that much money on just one park. -
Paragon Park Giant Coaster

The park(SFA)did an overhaul on the ride in,I believe 06 & added signage in the queue areas showing the original layout prior to it's relocation in the off season of 85/86. -
Anyone remember the ride list from 2001 when Batwing was installed? PBR was the LAST ride on that list to be installed some six years ago simply due to SFI's focus on SFGRADV,SFMM & SFGRAM under the previous ownership. They could always relocate a coaster from SFNO such as Jester if it's in decent shape to run of course.

Good,I was looking for the schedule on the official site & couldn't find it so thanks for the info. I don't know if I'll go on opening weekend or not as past experiences with opening weekend at SFA hasn't gone very well what with rides being down for maintenance & all. -

Thanks for the info,I'm gonna make sure to set my DVR to record it. -
Not gonna happen aince they've already cannibalized UT for usable parts for other rides, the compressor for instance is being used on Roar's brake system. I think they'll announce "concrete slab: the ride" which will be located on the site vacated by two face in SWT over anything else. They could get a THBS clone though in that area too.

Have locations been confirmed? El Dorado would fit right in somewhere in the old "Wayne's World" section that's got the 50s themed restaurant. Last I heard Americana was going over by rebel yell on the former launch pad site while El Dorado was being placed roughly where hypersonic's launch track was, which leaves plenty of space for the 2010 hyper to be placed in that vicinity of the park. If we're getting a hyper in 2010 I can see it running from where the tower/turn around on hypersonic was right over BRT's course going north towards the front of the park. -

I certainly hope they keep Americana's current colors but El Dorado definitely needs a different paint scheme for it's structure. Isn't there supposedly going to be a temporary flat installed to take over for balck squid? I thought I remembered hearing about it on another site somewhere. -

The blue parts appear to be Americana's supports while the yellow/tan parts in the background look more like El Dorado structural parts to me. -
Don't expect a park to remove a ride based soley on the average queue line waits,if they did things that way then both Hurler north & south would've been yanked a long time ago. I'm not sure wether or not Vortex has the new or older stand up trains on it.If it's the older models like Carowinds version has then I'd definitely expect it to be a painful ride, not because of the tracking but more due to the higher center of gravity effecting the ride when going through the curves.....especially at higher speeds.

I think it's safe to say that ECC put those labels on. Wes could be right - someone might have seen some "rough sketches" and then later recreated them using a computer program. They might very well be switchbacks, though, since one of them looks to be inside a building. Could be & let's keep in mind that the Brits do have some rather odd terminology for things unlike how ours is here in the states. -
Carowinds Discussion Thread

I wanted to remark on your post there. Where I think it's wise to create a new marquee attraction for each of their newly aquired Paramount parks, Im not one to think the answer for each is a $20+ Million B&M. Fortunatly, we know that wasen't the cost on Dominator and wont be the cost on the GCI still planned for Great America. The Difference between Cedar Fair and Premeir Parks is that even though they both spent a large amount of money buying up parks, the Paramount Parks made more money and steadier attendance than the dozen or so parks Premeir bought. Also, when Cedar Fair obtained the loan to those parks, they also took out a seperate $500,000,000 credit loan towards park improvements which they have been using. Don't worry, they won't be making all the same mistakes that Premier/Six Flags made. True John & unlike SF/Premiere CF only purchased an additional 5 parks while SF ended up adding 12 or more to their portfolio.Fewer parks total means less money needs to be spent on yearly cap ex projects & CF has a very good reputation for park improvements....sure some parks may be slower to see such improvements but eventually the improvements are made. -

IIRC skypilot at KD was removed well before 1998 & scrambler was put in it's place until 2003 when DZ was installed.I'll have to review my KD map collection just to be sure though. -
Carowinds Discussion Thread
KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would be interested in knowing the actual popularity of the campground. I know that it might be used by small parties like youth groups and reunions but I think that CF will let it be because the land is in a awkward location in relation to the rest of the park. It is true about the woods near Hurler though and the only real direction I see the park expanding in would be via parking lot. Carowinds has two entrances, the main gate and the south gate near Afterburn. I think CF should use the land gained from the removal of the Flume along with some of the adjacent parking. There is parking on the other side of Thunder Road that is RARELY utilized so using some up for a coaster footprint wouldn't hinder parking too much. Also, around that area of the park (Flume), there are also a few covered picnic areas that CF could very well get rid of with whatever "Future Attractions" they have planned. CF should really go easy on rapid expansion of the the former paramount parks, remember SFI ended up putting themselves into debt a decade ago when they began their rapid "over expansion" of the former Premiere parks & look what that got them as a result. Sure we all would like to see new coasters added at the former PP properties but it's just not a wise financial move on CF's part right now to follow in SFI's disasterous footsteps by going down that road.By making smaller investments over time to the parks with an ocassional coaster here & there the chain will do better in the long run & that means more money for future installations down the road. The removal of the flume doesn't automatically mean new coaster in 2010.Why does every one think that whenever an older ride is removed a new coaster is gonna take it's place? that land can be used to just as easily add a new section of thrilling flats to the park instead, and with CC coming in 09 I wouldn't expect Carowinds to recieve a new coaster for a couple of years afterward. -
These parks were doing fine with the expansions/additions they recieved under premier prior to the SF aqqusition & rebranding in 99 & started off under the new brand alright for the first few seasons,it's only when the focus on cap ex became soley on one or at most 3 parks per season that the chain really began to go downhill & without new rides attandance at parks like SFWOA & SFA gradually began to decline. It really doesn't matter which park in the chain a reassigned GM formerly worked at when corporate management in NYC doesn't give them the budget they need for maintenance, operations & cap ex for new rides so long as the company keeps treating the park(or parks) the way they have been since around 2002/2003.

Favorite Coaster at KD
KDCOASTERFAN replied to Thelegendarymatthew's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I second that,Grizzly is my top woodie at the park day or night(but especially at night).Dominator ranks right up there in terms of best steel without a doubt,I wish I could've gotten more than 5 rides on it this season but come 09 I'll be able to more than make up for it with my season pass. -
The "fit" of PTC trains
KDCOASTERFAN replied to KenniB's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Gwazi's trains are standard issue two bench PTC's with individual ratcheting lap bars so what makes them so special in comparison to MS's trains which are exactly the same? -
TOD is still there & if it weren't for the LOUSY maintenance budget the park gets then two face might never have become so problematic to the point that they have to yank it. Let's face it,SFA is one of the least cared about parks in the chain & Shapiro has learned from CF's example with GL.....gradually yank one ride after another(without replacement) & then what few people still patronize the park will stop coming alltogether & they'll finally have the excuse they need to shut it down & relocate the remaining rides to their other parks. I'd much rather have Burke & CO. back in charge than the current ownership the chain has,at least then MAYBE the park would've gotten a new ride or two by now for the ride side that is.

KDCOASTERFAN replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah but moving XLC to KD from then PGA was a Paramount decision, not a CF one. They only did so because they opted out of the 01 flyer from vekoma & gave it to SFA instead. -
Carowinds Discussion Thread
KDCOASTERFAN replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't see a park like Carowinds adding a hyper, just because SFOG has one doesn't mean Carowinds is gonna get one after all.....just look at KD,it's been ten years(in 09) since AC was installed at BGE,and nine years since superman was installed at SFA & yet KD STILL hasn't added a hyper yet & they're a bigger park, with a larger potential market than Carwoinds is. Besides CF isn't going to make back to back coaster installations at Carowinds. The only reason that the boomerang is being added instead of ,say a new B&M is because CF had the ride just sitting around as one of their assets from the GL closure & if not for that Carowinds would probably just be looking at more flats,or gasp another wave pool in 09....if anything at all.
