This is definitely a cable lift powered coaster & not a rocket/accelerator model as you can see the large gap in the track for the pully wheels to run through near the base of the lift.

I agree & instead of posting useful information like,say a construction update it's much easier for the majority of posters here to make jokes instead. Now has anyone been to the park lately to see if more track has arrived or what progress has been made placing footers or clearing land?

SFA was supposed to install a B&M stand up in 01 but got batwing at the last minute because KD didn't want it so there goes that theory.

I'm skeptical of that rumor as well & believe it to be nothing more than enthusiast gossip as that would eventually put B&M out of business due to market saturation.

Sorry but that isn't gonna be happening at SFGRADV anytime soon what with the bankruptcy & all. Looks like I'll definitely be getting a 2010 pass & be at the park next season.

Someone posted a video to KD fansite(from onboard americana) showing the construction activity but for some reason there wasn't much,if any movement from the two large cranes on site but their boom's were up which means they were moving something around on site. I'm going to the park tomorrow so I'll be sure to take a look around the construction site while riding anaconda....too bad someone can't just sneak their way on top of FOF's building with a camera to get some good video footage of what's going on over there.

And overexpansion of the chain is a big part of that....it cost them mega amounts of capital for all of those rennovations in late 98/early 99 to bring the former premiere parks "up to SF standards" only to let them sit & rot a couple years later. Now that CF runs KD for instance I ohh so hope they don't make the same mistakes that SFI made with SFA.....while things started out good they went downhill due to the debt situation created in part by adding all of those rides chainwide & as a result the park gets nothing now which is why I stopped visiting effective last season in favor of KD.

You want SF to add rides to add rides to SFKK. But, if they add rides, SF will add to their debt... -Tatum While that may be true then perhaps SFI should consider NOT adding rides to ANY of their parks for a year or two as a means to save money.Adding all these big coasters to SFMM & SFGRADV every other year is partly,if not mostly to blame for the mess that they're currently in.

Are you sure? I just got off of the phone with the king of King's Dominion, and he confirmed exactly what I said. I don't think an MF clone would easily fit in that footprint due to it's "L" shaped layout but it would be nice if it could.I'd also take an SFNE clone as well....anything is better than SFA's superman at this point. Word on the street is that they began pouring footers yesterday & that more track has arrived today.

^Nice assumption of the layout there...I like how that OBT off the drop goes close to rebel yell but I think the 2nd half would feature more hills than that,or at least I hope it will.

I agree but the technology of those attractions was outdated & probably impossible to maintain.....I just wish they'd left the mt. kilimanjaro ride alone however.

Good idea as a new way to get to the congo section from the grove is desperately needed.

True but those projects would be rather SMALL in nature.

All I'm hoping for is that it's not a launcher & has a lift instead.

Sorry if this is a bit off topic but KD just recieved a shipment of red track that looks an awful lot like the white coaster shown in the pics with a double virtical spine.Is this a premier launcher or a standard mega?

I heard these supports were going to Cedar Point... and I think that is more likely than Carowinds because we are supposed to be getting B&M this year... There's still a chance that those supports might end up at carowinds.Don't forget SFI sometimes switches rides at the last minute between parks so CF could've quite possibly have done the same thing.Another thing:It is possible that the supports recently removed from KD's property are for a launched coaster from intamin.....carowinds doesn't have a launcher so it's possible that a launcher rather than a hyper is what carowinds is getting,we'll find out soon enough when we learn where those supports turn up within the next day or two.

That's a real possibility seeing as they're the only other CF park on the east coast of the continental US so don't be suprised if these supports show up over the next day or two in carowind's parking lot.

Nope,they were moved off the park grounds via the same exit the GP uses to go back home via I-95.It is possible that the shipping crews made the wrong delivery,which would explain why only two truckloads of supports ever arrived on site before they were suddenly removed. Not that quite possible puts the red B&M back into play for KD,if the intamin ends up at carowinds they certainly won't be getting that B&M hyper that's for sure.

SFOT & SFNE neglected? I don't think so as Shapiro has spoiled SFNE lately because he has family up there & SFOT has always gotten new rides regularly,sure not a coaster every other year but new rides none the less.If any SF parks are spoiled really rotten it's SFGADV,SFMM & SFGRAM at the expense of the remaining parks.

Intamin's track/supports are imported from overseas that's why such a thread has yet to be posted.

Ohh we've had our fair share of rain up here too....just a couple days ago it was pouring down buckets of rain. So has anyone managed to go today now that conditions have improved?

Did anyone brave the elements today & visit the park to get an update on the construction/delivery progress?

I absolutely LOVE B&M, but I wouldn't want to see the Big Bad Wolf replaced by ANYthing. This rumor is NOT cool to me, at all. And besides, why wouldn't they put a new land in the area behind Festa Italia? Or between San Marco and Loch Ness? I hope BBW doesn't go but the rumor is that they want to use at least part of i t's footprint to create a new access point to the former DF area but with that coaster already gone they should have plenty of room without having to even touch BBW.
