  1. Nope, you have as much time as you need to get to the ride once it is ready.
  2. Check the events page and make sure there arent any large groups going that day, otherwise week days are always good. Your second question you answered yourself.
  3. Ninja's line has been a bit out of control lately (compared to what it usually is historically), 45 minute + waits and lines into the upper switchbacks have been observed, so if you want to ride it on a busy day and you dont have a flash pass you may want to work it in sooner than later. It's not the most intense coaster in the world obviously, but I think it's the best of the suspended coasters, and it's a terrain hugger which is always good, so I try to ride it at least once per trip. (Same goes for Gold Rusher, but no long line worries there, ever)
  4. Yeah the water rides can get some long lines on hotter days. Saturdays are always the busiest day as with most parts, so if you can go on a Sunday you'll almost always get lighter crowds.
  5. If youre going on a Saturday (or event day), or you wont be showing up until late in the day, then buy your flash pass ahead of time (the day before is plenty). Otherwise there's little chance of them selling out.You can only reserve one ride at a time, but the moment you get your pass scanned in the station, it resets and you can select another ride. If you have a gold or platinum pass your next ride will usually be ready before you even get off the current one. To get in fast it's usually advisable to be at the entrance about an hour before gates open. If you have a Gold Season Pass or a Discover card, you can get in before everyone else (and then you dont need to get there that early). The first ride you hit should actually be YOLOCoaster, as it's line will probably be long all day. X2's almost always dwindles to nothing by about 4pm (see previous post), so you can wait until then to hit that one.
  6. ^^^ I want a POV of this (Cause I aint riding it!)
  7. I went through there yesterday..they have two portable coasters up, both look interesting. One is a spinner with a nascar theme, the other is pretty basic but it looks fairly new and I like that the first drop goes right under the lift with a head chopper. I'm gonna go back tomorrow afternoon and might ride a couple.
  8. I tried many things including the hands over the ears as well and also just got my hands smashed no matter what I did..the last time I rode it I think I finally found a way that works. When I put my hands between the OTSR and your jaw/neck instead of your head, it stopped my head from even moving back and forth and smashing my ears or hands. I realize that the fact that we have to invent a way to ride painlessly is ridiculous, especially on this coaster where those OTSR's are totally useless.
  9. Oh, ha. I had a similar experience the first time I went to ride it.
  10. Bold part most important. Rides on the outside, especially with no one on the inside are extremely painful. It's my favorite ride in the world when it's not trying to kill me, which it has done more often than not lately.
  11. Today? It's supposed to be down until the end of the month. Are you sure it wasn't just testing? Even that I'd be surprised to see if it was supposed to be down until the end of the month..
  12. Nothing has been reported as unexpectedly down, but Lex Luthor is still down for maintenance. Weather: http://www.weather.com/weather/today/Santa+Clarita+CA+USCA1019:1:US Live view: http://www.santaclaritacam.com/
  13. Normally: 1 @ $55.00 2 @ $50.00 ea 3 @ $45.00 ea 4+ @ $40.00 ea
  14. ^ The 20th is a Saturday, so a Fast Lane wristband might not be a bad idea.
  15. You've sure got that right. Best two coasters in northern California by a wide margin. Just rode Gold Striker again Monday after not riding since it's first day of operation and was blown away all over again, this is a coaster that if it holds up structurally and mechanically will be pleasing people for many many years. I've been kind of burnt out on Superman lately since it's at my home park but you just have to love that slow motion barrel roll...I love seeing who keeps their arms up when they're hanging by nothing but their knees.
  16. Wait until you get to the park, then decide between regular, Gold, or no Flash Pass depending on crowds. I've never used Platinum and never would (as I don't agree with the way they do double rides), but from what I hear it's not worth the extra price. Every non-kiddie coaster except X2 and YOLOcoaster is included (X2 is available on Gold for an additional $15 per person, per ride), so you may want to do at least one of those two before picking up the pass. Whether you should get one or not depends on several factors, but I would say if you visit the park at most twice a year and/or the major attractions have 45+ minute waits, it's worth the investment. If you visit more frequently or none of the lines (excluding YOLOcoaster and X2) exceed 30 minutes, you probably should just save your money, or buy a regular Flash Pass instead of Gold. YOLOCoaster is also available as an upcharge like X2, but only with Platinum. I would definitely wait until getting to the park to decide..it probably shouldnt be too bad on a Thursday, but it could get kind of busy like it did today. I seriously doubt it would get busy enough that flash passes would sell out in the morning so it's worth waiting and seeing. X2's line often dies in the afternoon, so if I were you I'd get to the park early enough to grab a quick ride on YOLOCoaster in the morning, hit X2 at around 4pm (and pray for it to take mercy on you), and do everything else in the middle. From what I've been hearing the YOLOCoaster line gets going quick and has been pretty steady until park close most days.
  17. ^ Thank you, that was exactly the original route I was going to take, it seems the way to go then.
  18. Lots of good info. I'll probably take the back road in for my short night trip Saturday night since I'm coming that direction (from Cleveland airport) and then go the main road when I come in for Platinum ERT Sunday morning. Do you think it would be quicker (less traffic?) to pay the extra $1 and take the turnpike all the way to 250 and take the main road? If it's not significantly quicker then I'll just do the above.
  19. I was there all day Monday and it wasn't that busy..the max wait was about 30 mins, maybe 40 only right after it reopened from maintenance, never really got into the switchbacks..maybe there were a lot of groups there today.
  20. I asked that same question, then VGplay posted this: So I take it that Cedar Point Rd is probably better (I suspected this, I was really more wondering whether it was acceptable to use this road). It sure looks beautiful from what I've seen on Google Street View. What an amazing view to have a house on the road and have the lake view out of both sides of your house.
  21. The plant guy would be awesome during Fright Fest, minus the stilts.
  22. ^ I didn't touch the grab bar or restraint once on any of my rides, it was great!
  23. ^ I sat in the front row twice today, once in each train (and once in the back row of the red train) and all three rides were as smooth as that coaster can possibly be.
  24. Gold Striker at CGA. Waited over an hour for it to reopen after being down for mechanical fix so I could get in one more ride before driving home...so worth it.
  25. I once had an entire V2 train to myself at SFDK. When they put Roar, V2, and Superman on pass holder ERT (Which they always do together since theyre in the same plaza) everyone runs to Superman so I went to V2 and got my own train.
