The park that TPR built!
ScOtT k replied to Mr.Six's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Thank you! That's what I was trying to tell him in the first place. I used the 8 cars and it really screwed up my system!! Also, I don't have wacky worlds and TT. Are we using them?? Also, when do we start? And, are we building off of that park, or are we starting off with another plot of land? Just wondering, cuz I kinda like chaos. -

I'd love to do it. However, I think it would be better if we didn't use 8 cars because many people on this site don't have it. -
I was up in vermont for skiing. Too bad the skiing sucked when we were up there.

I've gotten 2 in my life. The first one I got was 6 years ago. We were up in vermont. We were in the middle of a blizzard, in the middle of nowhere. I was going 30. The speed limit was 30. My radar detector went off. A cop car came from the middle of nowhere. I slammed on my brakes. He turned his lights on and pulled me over. I quickly told my girlfriend to hide the radar detector. I was like "Oh my god!! Hide the radar detector!! We don't want him to see it" My girlfriend hid it in her overcoat. The cop walked up and said, "Okay, where'd you put the radar detector??" My girlfriend got nervous, took her coat off, and the radar detector fell out. The cop yelled for a while about how I should have been going slower since it was snowing. I asked him how he knew we had a radar detector. He said that people don't just slam on their brakes for no good reason. He gave us a ticket for 20 bucks. Yes, 20 bucks. I don't know why the ticket was so cheap, but whatever. The second ticket I got was at the bottem of a hill. The speed limit was 30. I was going 41.

Or you could just save the track design, demolish the coaster, and buy the coaster again. I do it whenever a coaster crashes. Works perfectly!! -
This is my park, cedar point. I've been working on it for a while. I want to know what you guys think of it. I want to see what you guys can do! Please download and comment.

When I went to disneyland last month the water tasted like crap. WTF is in that california water? In colorado we get a lot of water from snowmelt, so I guess it's pretty clean... I drink from the tap all the time.

As reported early this morning at DisneyWorldTrivia.com, the inferno barge, responsible for many of the spectacular effects for the Illuminations fireworks show in the World Showcase lagoon, exploded today at Epcot. The explosion could be heard thoughout the park and nearby Boardwalk resort area. There have been no reports of any injuries at this time. The barge sits in the middle of the lagoon, far from Guests, but does normally contain two Cast Members inside during the show. http://www.magicalmountain.net/WDWNewsDetail.asp?page=1&NewsID=996

Next avatar contest?
ScOtT k replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I stole this from another site... but, does mr. 6 look like the kkk killer Edgar Ray Killen? I think so... Also, I think we should have an avatar contest making fun of magic mountain's new ride. -

yeah, no. I don't think IOA will be getting something new for at least a year. I think that they'll focus on the studio side of the park for a while. -
New for 2006, SFEG

I was at the park BRIEFLY on friday. Chaos is being taken apart, and they really are making some progress. They've gotten some of the cars taken off already, and the big sign in the center that said chaos is also gone. It looks completely different then your photos. In your photos it looks like chaos is still put together. When I went there it was ripped apart. I guess they're working fast! -
"Michael Eisner said Friday that the "turbulence" at the Walt Disney Co. during his reign as chief executive was just part of trying to do things better at one of the world's biggest entertainment companies. Eisner, who survived a shareholder revolt last year, reflected on his 21 years at Disney as he planned to step down as CEO when his contract expires in three weeks. He spoke to The Associated Press at his company's newest theme park, Hong Kong Disneyland, which opens Monday." Hmmm... Well, It should be interesting to see what happens at disney. Hopefully things get better, not worse.

I got to disneyland at 7:45 in the morning. I paid 10 bucks for parking and headed towards the entrance plaza of disneyland. When I got to the entrance, the line to enter the park was stretched all the way back to california adventure! I got in line. At 8:00 they opened up the park gates. It took me a good 15 minutes to get into the park! It was going to be a BUSY day! I walked in and raced down main street with the hoards of people participating in the running of the bulls. I veered off to the right and entered tomorrowland. I walked past star tours and ran to space mountain. When I got to space mountain there was a sign that said the wait was already half an hour! I got a fastpass for 9:30 and got in line. The line moved extremely quickly, and we were into the station after 20 minutes! I really enjoyed the line for space mountain, thanks to the brand new theming. It really felt like we were on a space ship! We got into the amazing station complete with a huge rocket ship model! I don't think I've ever seen a better station! I waited about 5 more minutes and asked for the front seat. The ride ops let me wait for the front, and after another minute I was on! I got into the very comfortable cars. I did notice 1 thing that was completely different from all the other space mountains! It had 2 across seating. This would make for a completely different ride! We left the station and went up the first hill. I don't remember any theming, except for a few flashing blue lights that confused me. After the first hill, we turned to the right, and headed up a much bigger hill. This hill had spinning red lights that made it feel like the track was tilting and leaning. It was a great optical illusion and I really thhought the track was tilting! After that hill, we dropped down a bit, and made a complete turnaround to the left. We then hit the third and final lift hill. Our car speakers began doing the countdown. Our train slowly creeped over the top, and we FLEW down the first drop! Our car went past stars and spun through helixes. I was surprised! This was much better then the old space mountain! Our car dove up and down and spun enough to disorient anyone. We hit alot of drops with some great airtime, and I never knew where we were heading next! The car got faster and faster, we flew through everything. I was laughing my head off! I don't think I had ever been so happy before! We hit another helix that was very long, hit an airtime producing dip, and hit the brakes. We went past some more spinning lights, and went into the station cheering! I had LOVED my ride on space mountain. Never before in my life had I felt this happy. I was smiling and I felt happier then anyone else in the world. Space mountain is an amazing ride. I left space mountain and headed towards the Matterhorn. I waited 10 minutes for the matterhorn, and got into the little car. I had the front row to myself, and a little girl and her mother sat behind me. We left the station, and went up the pitch black first drop. Along the way a sudden blizzard hit and it began to get cold. We hit the top of the mountain and ran into the abominable snow man! The girl behind me began shrieking. We saw the snowman once more and began our twisty ride down the matterhorn! We began dropping and twisting right along the outside of the mountain. The girl behind me was howling with laughter. This made me begin laughing too. We spun down the mountain, and laughed our way around it. We hit a flat section with some brakes to slow us down, and hit a huge drop, diving right underneath the track above us. I got alot of airtime. The girl behind me began laughing again, and I couldn't help but join in! We dropped again, and hit the lakes, which were used as a natural braking system for the matterhorn. We turned around and pulled into the station, our fun ride was over. My biggest complaint about the matterhorn, was the surprising bumpieness. I expected it to be rough, but not THAT rough. I'm not saying it was a bad ride, it just could have been better! I walked back to space mountain to get my fastpass, and I noticed that Disneyland is much prettier than Disney World. Disney World has a much more artificial feel whereas Disneyland has a more intimate, traditional feel. The trees and vegetation are much more mature and dominate the view here, and the pedestrian areas and walkways are smaller and have a more varied gradation. I went back into the now very busy tomorrowland, and used my fast pass for space mountain. My ride was just as great as the first one, and I really really enjoyed my front seat ride. I left disneyland, at 9:50, and headed over to california adventure, for their opening. I got to the gates of california adventure and walked in 10 minutes before opening. There were about 50 people for their grand opening. Half of them went to soarin, and the other half went to tower of terror. I followed the huge crowd to TOT. I was the 6th person in line! Where the hell had all the crowds gone?? Disneyland still had a huge wait to get in, while california adventure was deserted! We walked into the lobby and got into the library. The library had a grand total of 15 people in it! We watched the introduction video and went into the boiler room. I walked right onto my elevator with the other 12 people. The bellhop was very funny, and told us that the first elevator of the day got a very special reservation at the very top of the tower. I really enjoyed my ride, and I'm considering changing my review. My ride was fantastic, and the tower seemed to drop a little bit more then usual. The special effects seemed different then my previous rides on it, and I think that the ride has greatly improved. After my first ride, I got back in line for TOT, and waited with 9 other people for the next showing of the pre show in the library. We waited for about 5 minutes because they were only running 1 of the 2 pre show rooms. We got in with a small group of people and watched the movie with rod sterling. After the movie we walked through the empty boiler room. We got onto our elevator, and went up 2 stories to the first room. We watched the scene with the old family and the Ghosts. Rod sterling told us how the family had suddenly vanished and how we were about to do the same. About halfway through his speech, our car suddenly dropped down about 3 feet! Everyone in our car began screaming. We knew something was wrong with the tower! Our car lurched a little bit and all the lights in our elevator shaft turned off. We waited for a moment and the lights came on. The lights weren't the normal lights. They were emergency lights! The lights were just running on a back up battery. We sat and waited for a moment. A voice came over a speaker somewhere in our car. They said, "Please remain seated. Your elevator is experiencing some slight difficulties. Please stay calm, a bellhop will be with you shortly." I took this advantage to take a moment and look around the room. There were a ton of mirrors, which were used to make the ghosts appear in the center of the room. They had a long dark hallway with quite a bit of mirrors in it. Ghosts were also supposed to appear in that corridor too. It really was interesting to see how all the special effects worked! A teenage girl in the row behind me started singing 99 bottles of beer on the wall. You could tell she was scared. She said that if she made it down to 50 bottles of beer she'd have a heart attack. I just laughed. The lights in the tower flickered off and the same girl screamed. They came back on, but she was to nervous to continue singing. A moment later a bellhop came back over the speaker and screamed, "50 BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL!!" Everyone in our car began screaming and laughing. It was the funniest thing I'd heard in quite a while! The girl behind me was in shock. The bellhop came back and said, "A bellhop will be with you shortly. We are getting prepared for an evacuation of this elevator. We apologize, your rooms will be ready shortly." After another minute of sitting in the dark, 2 bellhops came through a well hidden emergency exit door with a long ramp. The bellhops opened up the door on the elevator and unlocked our seatbelts. They told us to remain seated. One bellhop walked up in front of us, and dropped down into a 2 foot crack between the elevator and the room. Everyone on our car screamed. We thought he was falling to his death! He was actually just going under the car to find out what had gone wrong. It still gave us a bit of a scare though. He came back up opened our elevator, and put a ramp between our car and the hotel hallway. The ramp was about 2 feet wide, with no sides. If you looked down you could see a 100 foot drop beneath you. It was very nervewracking! I stepped out of the elevator in front of a huge rug from the 19th century. The bell hops said that it was extremly important that we didn't tough the rug. The thing was an amazing piece of history! We inched past the rug, and went through the emergency exit. We walked out into a horribly plain hallway, and waited for the rest of the people on our elevator. They got out, and we walked down the hallway. We found an actual service elevator. And took it down to an employee hallway. We got out, and walked through a door and into the boiler room. We walked onto the only operating elevator (yeah, that's how light the crowds were. Only 1 out of 4 elevators were running. 1 was broken down. Despite all this, there was no wait. We got onto our elevator and enjoyed another good ride. This tower isn't nearly as good as the one in florida, but it's still fun. After that ride I decided I had had enough of the tower. I walked through the deserted park, towards soarin over california. The sign said that there was a 5 minute wait, so I decided to not get a fastpass. I walked into the entrance hallway and noticed that they only had 1 of the 2 theatres open. We waited about 5 minutes and FINALLY got on soarin! Whattta huge wait! I picked a seat in the front row. Almost everybody else riding did. There were 8 people riding in the second row, and no one in the third row. Attendance really has gone down at this park! Well, soarin was a great ride, and it was even better from the front row. I decided to ride again since there was no wait. I got the front row again, and loved my ride! I had been having a great day! After soarin I headed over to Grizzly river rapids. The wait for this was gigantic. I must have waited a whole 5 minutes. Gee, the park was packed! I enjoyed my ride, and I was amazed at how dry I stayed. I bearly got wet! (yeah, bad pun) Anyhow, the other 3 in my boat were soaked. I walked around the park a bit more, taking in the atmosphere. It really is amazing to walk around an empty park. It was quite fun really. I walked around the park, and found a hidden trail that weaved up and around grizzly river mountain. On the other side of the mountain was a small show called "seasons of the vine Presented by robert mondavi" It really was hidden. There were 2 employees standing in front of the theatre. They asked if I wanted to watch the movie. I said yes. I walked into a small theatre with a nice screen. The cast members said that I was the second person that watched the movie that whole day! The movie was very nicely produced. The cast members said that in the past few days they had seen as little as 50 people watch the show! I guess that accident on california screamin really did kill the park. After that I headed towards the mission tortilla factory to get some free tortillas. They were really good, and I didn't have to buy lunch. I decided that I would head over to paradise pier, just to check everything out. I went over to muhulland madness (spelling?) The wait for this was 10 minutes. There were only 20 people in line, but mad mice always have slow moving lines. I enjoyed my ride, however, I had no desire to go on it again. After my ride, I glanced over at california screamin. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I saw the red car on the launch track! A split second later it launched! The 50 people on paradise pier all stared at california screamin. People were shouting, "The coaster's open!" I thought it was running too. I got really excited. California screamin was opening! I saw the train fly over the first hill. I was once again let down. The train was filled with intamin test seats. Not people! I think everyone on the pier was let down. I really thought it was open! I continued walking along the pier, and walked up to the chair swing ride they had. 6 other people rode it with me. I enjoyed my ride quite a bit. There were a few very good foot choppers. I walked along the pier more and hit the maliboomer. They had 1 out of the 3 towers running with no wait! I enjoyed my ride on the maliboomer. There was quite a bit of airtime, and I was the only person in my row. It was quite interesting! I walked by callifornia screamin *sigh* And continued walking through the park. There was a photo spot near california screamin. I got a few great pictures of paradise pier. I watched california screamin test. They had about 50 mechanics running around. They were running all of the trains now. I was amazed at the speed they were operating it at! If operations were always like that, the capacity could be 3,000 an hour! California screamin continued testing all day. I watched them test it a bit more. While I was watching something strange happened. The red train, went through the loop, up a hill, and suddenly stopped. It was strange. The coaster slammed into the mid course brakes. I wouldn't have wanted to be on that train! It went from 40 to 0 in a second! That would have hurt! The mechanics were scrambling now. The orange train stopped at the top of the lift hill. I figured something bad had happened, so I left and wandered around the park. It's a real pity that this ride broke down. DCA is suffering. I was upset too. The longest line I saw all day was to talk to a Customer service rep in front of screamin. I walked to the tower. The wait sign said 5 minutes. I figured I should ride it before I left the park. While waiting I found a hidden mickey and a note in the boiler room. The note read, "It's easy enough to be pleasent, when life hums along like a song. But the man worth while, is the man who can smile, when everything goes dead wrong." I enjoyed my ride, and decided to leave california adventure. I walked out of the empty entrance plaza, and headed over to disneyland! Disneyland was jam packed. Since It was hot, I figured I would ride splash mountain. The wait was 120 minutes! There were no fast passes left. I went over to indiana jones. I got a Fastpass for 8 o clock at night. I walked into frontierland and waited 20 minutes for big thunder. I was given seat number 1, without even asking! My ride was great, and I was very happy I had done it. I decided to ride the matterhorn. The wait was 20 minutes. I rode the other side, and enjoyed my ride even more then the first one. I walked a bit more and went to space mountain. OMFG, the wait was out of the completely full queue and went all the way back to back to inovations! The sign said 180 minutes! There were no fastpasses left. I decided to ride star tour instead. I waited 20 minutes, and enjoyed my ride. I felt hungry and decided to go to down town disney for dinner. I ate at wolf gang puck, and got back to disneyland at 7:30. Since I had time before my indiana jones fastpass, I decided to ride my favorite non coaster ride at disneyland. I went to pirates of the carribean. I waited 5 minutes, and got on. I loved this version! It was soooooooo much better then florida's. The ride felt like it had walt disney's magical touches. There were also 2 large drops through the darkness. They barely got me wet, but added a thrill to the ride. You couldn't see the drops coming! Everyone on our log was caught off gaurd! It was time for my indiana jones fast pass. I walked into the station. I asked for the front row, and we were off! Indiana jones was fantastic. It's like dinosaur at AK, but with much better theming. I was surprised at how fun it was! This is another great disney ride. After Indy, I headed over to buzz light year. I waited 20 minutes, and got my own private car. I really enjoyed my ride. I don't remember how many points I got, but hey, it was still fun. It was now time for the fire works show. I got a prime spot on main street, and waited about 10 minutes for the show to start. I was amazed! This was the best disney fireworks show ever! It lasted a good 20 minutes! Tinkerbell flew over the castle, images were projected onto the peak of the matterhorn, and fireworks were blasting off from every single land. I felt just like a 5 year old. I was so happy. Near the end they had a special part devoted to walt disney. They projected pictures of him onto the matterhorn, and played "when you wish upon a star" The show was amazing. After the show, I headed back towards mickey's toon town. On the way their I passed "it's a small world" I had heard all the talk about it, but I decided to ride it. I actually enjoyed my ride. I thought it was very cute, and enchanting. I don't see why everyone dislikes it so much... "It's a world of laughter, It's a world of fears. It's a world of joy, It's a world of tears. It's a small small world. It's a small world after all, It's a small world after all, It's a small world after all, It's a small small world." I had enjoyed my ride, and I was very glad that I rode it. I walked to the back of the park and took the disneyland railroad to the entrance. I had just experienced one of the best days of my life. I love disneyland! "I think what I want Disneyland to be most of all is a happy place – a place where adults and children can experience together some of the wonders of life" Walt Disney

sooo... do you know if we are getting any new rides in the next few years?? I'd imagine a pro slide tornado would be added to the waterpark. But, any new coasters??
