  1. I found it to be fun but not too thrilling, and a tad short. Definately, DEFINATELY not a coaster to be feared. However, a nice credit to be had. I still think floorless coasters are little more than a gimmick, though.
  2. Yes, it's worth it if you do visit San Diego. There are many "mini" parks throughout So Cal that you can visit if a goal on your trips is to get as many credits as possible. Do be sure to ride the Vegas coasters as well.
  3. Magic Mountain can be a 2 day park if you really want to ride everything, but I wouldn't commit to 2 before seeing what you got done during the 1st day. With Flash Pass, 1 day may be sufficient. Not interested in Universal Studios? If you're considering it, I'm sure you could squeeze it in during your stay in Anaheim, along with Knott's, Legoland, possibly Sea World, and whatever else in So Cal.
  4. That is one long trip, sir! I have not seen Sea World mentioned in this thread, and since you're going to be in So Cal for over a week anyway, you might as well hit that too. Good park for kids. It's very easy to get to San Diego from Anaheim, Interstate 5 takes you all the way there. Options such as Amtrak I'm not TOO familiar with, but I believe the southern terminus is still a ways away from downtown San Diego. I wouldn't recommend visiting Tijuana, Mexico.
  5. Overall, I would say that I do like it. The first drop is pretty good, and I like tunnels. After the second drop, it doesn't do much, in my opinion, other than the intense helix. A few more hills would have been better, IMO. Despite being a Stengel design, I think B&M or Intamin could have done better than Giovanola. That company isn't around anymore, which goes to show.
  6. Well, Daemonen opened in 2004, is not an invert, and has a predrop: (And yes, I have that credit.)
  7. Not being a huge Spongebob fan, the words "bikini bottom" had my mind elsewhere.
  8. Many of the Curtis D. Summers/Dinn Corporation woodies share a similar reputation, i.e. Cedar Point's Mean Streak. As to the earthquake "theory," it is possible. After a major earthquake, you'll see a collapsed structure surrounded by other structures still intact. One thing is for sure, though, SFMM needs another woodie. Badly!
  9. Finally, a Disaster Transport pic! Leche bong? Good one.
  10. I knew I wasn't crazy! Funny though, the laughing was gone in Psyclone's later years, but it would have been more appropriate then.
  11. Wow, you really loved that ride. I did like it, when it was new. By October 2005, it was very painful. I'm just a little foggy on what airtime once was on that ride.
  12. We want Cedar Point! Kings Island! Since we can't complain to Robb, Terry is fair game No, seriously though, your TR is the funniest out of all of them, keep it up! -Chris "Terry's TR fanboy" Smirnoff
  13. However, RCDB lists powered coasters, and those we all agree are not credits. So, if a ride has a gravity (only) powered section of track, then it is a roller coaster. SO, yeah. Dudley's is not a coaster. JTA is (all versions).
  14. I'm sure people would like to go on both trips, but if noth "sell out" and a lottery is held, I don't think it would be fair for someone to go on both trips and another person zero, Robb & Elissa's regular trippers aside.
  15. I believe it was great, before the 1994 Northridge earthquake, which rendered it rough. Aside friom that, do you feel it was lacking in thrilling drops and airtime? At first, I thought Psyclone was better than Colossus, but as the years passed I reversed my decision. What do you think? -Chris "An Intamin woodie would be great in that spot" Smirnoff
  16. Would it possible to lipstick cam Dodonpa and Eejanaika? I may have heard that Fuji-Q doesn't allow it, but if you can it would be great. Every video out there of those rides are piss poor. -Chris "Come on, Fuji-Q" Smirnoff
  17. European parks are more likely to serve alcohol and have depictions (artwork, statues) of nude women. Those are the main things.
  18. Fairly Odd Coaster! Both/either of them. But seriously, both the San Diego and Santa Cruz Giant Dippers are pretty good.
  19. Wow, is the girl in the blue tank top pregnant? L-O-L The kid who made this thread was banned, but I don't know if it was permanent or not.
  20. I'm sure if he had stapled himself hard he could have got away with it. It's a doggone shame he's never going to ride it.
  21. Wow, that layout is...interesting. I agree With Rastus, that wood is pretty dense.
  22. If you were thinking he's buried there, he wasn't. He didn't die in 1972, either. You can find his grave at Loma Vista Memorial Park, in Fullerton. Here's a pic: Anyway, I do agree with you, Knott's has sadly been going downhill. However, it's not becoming "Six Flagsified," it's becoming "Cedar Fairified." Unique attractions like the Haunted Shack (as you mentioned), Kingdom Of The Dinosaurs, and even rides like XK-1 are gone, with either a mass produced ride to replace it, or no replacement at all. The rides that remain, like GhostRider, have been deteriorating. Oh, and maybe run a spell check next time. -Chris "I miss the pre-Cedar Fair Knott's" Smirnoff
  23. Wow, I never realized how bitchin' Alpengeist's first drop looks!
