Six Flags Magic Mountain's X2 Media Day
RIP Psyclone replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It appears that station configuration was pretty much unchanged, only they now unload in the same spot as they load, which is what they said they were gonna do: You can see the new exit signs. I guess this means that the old unload area is now pretty much unused and abandoned. -

Photo TR: KNOEBELS!!....with a side of WDW

One thing I've noticed about Knoebel's is the unusual layout. Unusual for an amusement park, anyway. It seems to be more like a convention center. Everything is just sort of plopped down with space between everything else, resulting in an infinate number of ways to walk around the park. I guess that's bad for a first time guest who doesn't know the layout very well, but good for getting from point A to point B. I think I would love the park. Plenty of nooks and crannies to discover. Oh, and the food! Wait, there are rides too, right? -

There is a guy on here named Skip, and I talked to him at West Coast Bash about TTD vs. KK. (For those of you who went on the Midwest trip, you know who I'm talking about.) In addition to everything else that has been mentioned, he said that one major thing is missing from KK: spectators. TTD has a little grandstand set up so you can watch it launch from a good perspective, allowing for good photo opportunities as well. You can also walk along the entire length of TTD. Those things are not true with KK. There is no grandstand, and you can't walk along side it. It's much harder to get good photos of KK. Do you agree? -

After a few painful elements that were intended to be fun and thrilling, Manhattan Express meanders pointlessly after the MCBR until the station. It really is one of the worst. -

I think it's unfortunate that Big Mike tried so hard to please us, his fellow TPR members, only to have it backfire. I respect Big Mike's decision to no longer include bikini photos, however I think it would be a bit much to completely avoid them if bikini clad women happen to be in abundance on one of his Road Show stops. No need for close ups or "spy" photos, but a wide angle shot to give a feel as to the location. I think that's fair.

Some of us Americans too, because White Castle is a regional chain. There are no locations here in California or in the western United States at all. And no, I don't speak Dutch, I had to look up something to say. -

The Grand Canyon is nice, but very, very out of the way if you just had a day trip in mind. You'd have to spend a night in the area to do it right. SFMM is a must, especially since X2 will be open. I'd recommend visiting between Monday and Thursday. As for the San Diego Zoo, I'd recommend it only if you're into zoos. Las Vegas is always a lot of fun, and it's not hard to get a good room rate at a decent hotel (and usually in a good location) if you know where to look. Excalibur and Tropicana are two examples of reasonably priced rooms in a very, very good location. As always, I'm very happy to offer advice, so I'll check back in this thread to contribute more. -

TPR Members Working At Parks

Very, very important. I think that ranks #1 out of all concerns of students, and students doing a work experience thing.
