  1. This a coincidence, as one of my coworkers was talking about the HT movie/concert thing he bought tickets for. We all are scratching our heads over this one because the name is everywhere. It's a bit like the Ricky Martin blitz or the 80's Batman over promotion. It was just everywhere. I wish her well, but definately a case of Add-Nausium.
  2. (chuckling) My friend, I am grateful. (raises eyebrow for comedic effect) I dunno, but suddenly, I REALLY need a date... EDIT: Looks pretty quiet over at MOA tonight....scratch that! Looks like the bottom part of Avatar's surf board is being put on the track. Nice!
  3. Ah, thank you. You've taught me something new tonight.
  4. ^^ Hey, no worries and no doubts. I believe and that's some drop. If it's like Speed on the Roller Coasters in the Raw disc, it'll be a good ride. Forgive a dumb question, but what is a soft opening? I've heard that tossed around a bunch lately. Is that anything like a "preview"?
  5. Maverick's is what, 95 degrees and kinda sticks out? Maybe it's the pic angle, but RBP doesn't seem to be as pronounced as Maverick. Thank you guys for the pics.
  6. ^ A bit off topic but something you might enjoy, I'm doing an RCT3 recreation of Wonderland Sydney's Demon (that later became Zoomerang at Alabama Adventure). At present I'm still working out some scenery/landmarks for it, but it's almost finished. Hope you enjoy Carrabba's whenever you go.
  7. Dr. Pepper, A&W Rootbeer, and Popcorn flavored Jelly Bellys. Cream soda and Orange Sherbet are next.
  8. Theme park brochures and maps.
  9. In good spirit, that's a curious way to put it.
  10. You got it. Guy I work with told me about it. 1993 was the last time I was in Gatliburg/Pigeon Forge, so be patient with me. I'm catching up. Would've like to have seen Ogle's anyway. Oh Well. As for Wilderness, I was hoping it wouldn't repeat what Big Bear or whatever did with restricting access to park unless you rented a condo. Was hoping more for a Water Park of America or Kalahari deal that's open to everyone. Great Wolf and some of those places are tough to get in unless you book way in advance or you get forced into the most expensive suite they have because it's all their offering at that particular time. I'm not paying $400 a night for a waterpark credit. That's just how I roll. Anyway, still good to see more stuff coming into the area.
  11. Bringing Disneyland Home The Big D Video Podcast The A Walk in the Park Podcast (Pat McKabe, who also works with Clint Novak and Will Holder on Coaster Crew)
  12. Sorry I'm so late to the party on this one, Jahan. Had only seen bits and pieces of Hearst Castle on Travel or Discovery channel. The detail around the pool is just increadible, and what a great view. You've illustrated yet another reason why the Random thread is so great. We all like to play tourist, but don't always have the chance to go see places like Hearst Castle (yet) or places other than theme parks. It's a great change of pace and chance to see something new. Glad you took time to post this.
  13. To borrow someone's catch phrase,"Elissa's instincts are strong". If you like Italian, it's really worth trying. Had several meals there now and not one of them bad.
  14. Bless you for that. Those of us who don't speak German (yet) appreciate it.
  15. Glad to see them testing Splat, but it's also humorous to me to see all those dummies sitting on the cement wall. Kind of surreal. In a wierd way, this one has become one of my favorite parks, due to it's uniqueness before and after this rennovation. It's so different from some of the other parks. I like different.
  16. I'd been hoping for something like this, especially after hearing of Ogle's Water Park for the first time last week...and it's demise. Just hope there is a bit more public access than the other resort indoor water park (great bear, big bear, yogi bear?) Glad to see so many new water parks cropping up around the south. We need them. Good news and will follow this one closely.
  17. Lou Time is truly a cross rip in the interdimensional space/time continuum. It fluctuates and evolves at random, often spontaneous and light hearted in nature. It's as mysterious as the Aurora Borealis, yet as familiar as Steak n Shake. Paralleling Zen Buddhism, it simply is, no more, no less. I too follow Lou Time when doing some of the hobby/youtube projects, though I call it "Whenever I bloody well feel like it."
  18. ^ Well, the thing was gonna get hosed sooner or later, not that I'm rough on equipment or anything. I'm looking at options and have time to work with. Luckily no real needs in the next couple months. Dad was kind enough to offer to replace it (poor guy felt bad), but I'll just take care of it later. Anyway, thank you for the well wish and sympathy. To all of you really, a heartfelt thank you.
  19. ^ Some great pics. Thank you for the update and sharing those.
  20. Start saving your pennies now for the TPR Dubai trip. You know it's coming once more things get built and the details are finalized. The granduer of this whole thing is just staggering.
  21. If memory serves, some of the older slides at Water Country USA in Williamsburg were really good. Dunno what it was called, but there was a short slide that sat about 4 feet above the water and arched up a bit. Had some good times on that one.
  22. My favs in no particular order: McDonalds, Krystal, Steak n Shake. And now I want a hot fudge sundae....juuuuuust great...
  23. Ok, while I still prefer the beagle, the splat o sphere lights and extra decor are kinda cool. They could've just put the standard canvas/whatever square cap on top and been done with it. Hooray for light up tissue paper! Dumb as it sounds, I'm still most interested in the slime station/slime geyser 2.0 thing. If that truly is being added to the park, please don't let it be weak.
  24. ^^ (video) I would so skate that. But my knee is torqued Hopefully tagboy didn't put his real name out for the world to see.
