  1. Lou, I was laughing so hard at so many of the captions I was crying. Just excellent! Hold on...writing that down.....ok. I earned that after the "feeling faint" crack. I just try to listen and be observant. You learn a lot that way. Makes me sound stalker-ish, though. Oh well, still an honor to be mentioned by name. Thank you. Godiva chocolate? Lady, you're speaking my language! And whole Dumbo thing. All of these gave me a great laugh. Still grinning while typing this response. Really enjoyed this update. Holy crap! It's Wayne Campbell in the background!
  2. It's averaging $3.59 around much of Huntsville, Alabama. $20 doesn't even get you 6 gallons. Man I miss the times in DC when you could fill up for around $11. This was around 2000 though. You know it's bad when $3.41 was the high a couple days ago, and now it seems like a good deal.
  3. ^ So you're giving Erik his props? Sorry, couldn't resist.
  4. The shot of Alpie on the mcbr with Grif in the background is awesome. Ok, dumb question time. Does DarKastle have a drop? I know there's a drop in the film, but does the ride vehicle/track plummet at some point? This is another great TR worth following. Wicked!
  5. Gave me a good laugh right off the bat. Man I loved that area. Enjoyed the morning work commute last year and my hotel was across the street from Water Country. Despite work, it was a fun trip to a great park. Your're off to a great start and I'm looking forward to the rest.
  6. I enjoy your TRs, and it was good to see Lake Winnie. Interesting old and new Pipeline Plunge signs. As for Boat Chute a credit or not, I voted yellow again. Hope that clarifies things. Sorry man, gotta side with Portable Shannon on this one. The Powerade looks yellow to me. Hey wait...what's THIS.... Clever Mark IV monorail console distraction.
  7. No worries. Didn't even know those folks made rapids boats. Bit of a curious design at that. You've taught me something new today. Regardless, some great pics and definately makes me want to go to Walibi.
  8. I build 3D models and shoot video for the local university, but our group is annexed out on the local military base. Gets hectic, but fun to travel. I work with some great (and patient) people. We have a good time and you constantly have to learn new things. Growth and progress, always a plus. Was very very fortunate to find this work in most uncertain times during the past few years. Been with this group almost a year and half already.
  9. This looks like a fun park to check out. Thanks for posting this.
  10. I've heard good things about Lake Winnie, but your captions make it even better. Laughed about 5 minutes on that one. Great TR man. Hope to get over to your neck of the woods later this summer.
  11. Excellent! Another Hector update. That's funny you all ate at Chuck E. Cheese. Sounds like something my friends would do too. And those end up being the really fun ones of any adventure. Makes me miss Florida a bunch. Looking forward to the next round of pics.
  12. Seems PoVs are as dicey an issue as ever. Even Alabama Adventure (Visionland) went thumbs down on it, particularly on Wild River Gorge. It's almost easier just to stick to off-ride filming, period. Don't bother asking for on-ride. Almost certainly no and just too many side problems that spin up. As for YouTube, if Universal can quickly yank the leaked Simpson's ride footage, they may also go after other ride PoVs. Same for Six Flags and Cedar Fair. Just a question of time.
  13. Aside from the small ones at some Asian stores, the one at DisneyLand (?) Ca, was the first I'd ever seen. Was wild to watch these little kids moving this big stone sphere on a fountian. Think it was marble, but I took it for granite. Anyway, this PTR was a great view of Japan for the curious among us. Looks awesome and definately worth going some day.
  14. Wow! You taught me something new today. Had no idea these parks existed. Bet it got interesting when the dust storms kicked up. Hey, it's a couple bonus reasons for going to Egypt.
  15. Congratulations! You've definately accomplished something in your coaster riding career. To answer the "Did I just have sex?" question, that ride sounded pretty rough. Hey, some people like it rough.
  16. What a cool park! Only seen bits of it up to now. El Rio looks pretty fun, and those are some unique boats, almost something out of Trivial Persuit. Any notion who makes them? Thanks for posting these.
  17. ANOTHER update?! Glad I was sitting down, I feel faint... Great to see more pics and hear the stories from the trip. I liked the spinning globe fountain. Big spinning rock fountains are just neat. Great line! 2 Ducks Unlimited, mold-friendly thumbs up! That's just an all around great picture!
  18. Thanks you guys! Glad to add to a great topic.
  19. Anybody who does a cross-country coaster trip followed by good creative video editing, and is a Vault Icee fan, isn't lame. Baby HHN. Run! It's strained peas!
  20. Here's a handful of pics from our family trip to Epcot in 1992. Since we did MK on the first trip in the 80's, this second trip centered on Epcot...Center. We stayed in the Contemporary Resort in the wing that was recently demolished, did the character breakfast, and hit up MGM Studios. We also went to Universal Studios, and Seaworld during that trip. What follows is purely Epcot. Can include the Contemporary Resort pics later, but wanted to stick to topic. With that, here are the pics... Also ran across these links with some interesting pics and a video Communicore vid at bottom of page http://www.omniluxe.net/wyw/cmcr.htm Old Epcot Pics http://aatvideo.com/lostepcot/worldofmotion.html I had to try the Jim Suit Training Station. This thing fell into the "Robots are Cool" catagory, depite being a dive suit. Hope you all enjoyed. As you see, I am not quite dead, Mr. Bond. Jim Jarrat deep sea diving suit. A similar model was used in "For Your Eyes Only" during a fight scene in a sunken ship. When it was time to feed the fish, they made a show out of it. You could also sign up to dive, but I don't know how that worked. Would love to hear about others who've done this. The high-tech futuristic themeing was sweet! The Living Seas. Welcome to Sea Base Alpha. Anybody else have a sudden urge to listen to Kraftwerk? "And now Lancelot with engage in a little sword play..." Over at Communicore was Expo Robotics, where the arms spun tops and balanced them on strings and sword blades. SSE, fountains, and palm trees. Was so happy to see it all. A beautiful site despite the clouds. No tarps, monoliths, wands, stars, moons, blue diamonds, 4 leaf clovers, purple horsehoes, or red ballons either. My ticket to ride. Note that is says MGM Studios and River Country. Oops! Forgot this shot of World of Motion. Always enjoyed the Bird and Robot show after the ride.
  21. Great pics and vid! This one and SFoG Goliath are my to fave hypers. I dig the Deja Vu seating too. Will I ever get on it? Oh hell no! But it is a thing of beauty. Thanks for the great coverage.
  22. Simpsons looks like a great ride. Loved some of the insides jokes and nods to BTTF, etc... Looking forward to riding the real deal in the coming years.
  23. Why do I get the feeling this is not only the start of "Baby..." video series, but also a super secret bonus on future Coaster Expedition and Roller Coasters in the Raw episodes? Great stuff! True "outside the box" thinking on both counts. Also sounds like a match. Expecting beat-down in 3...2...1...
  24. Hey Guys, I have some pictures and tickets from a family trip in 1992 and was wondering if I could contribute to a great thread. Thanks, Michael
