  1. I was very shocked to find this very old video about Pacific Ocean Park on You Tube, it does include a short bit about thier coaster, offering great thrills anyway, check it out EDIT:, some good info from Wikipedia.com And how it ended
  2. WOW, I throw my Xbox controller all the time, are you telling me now with Nintendo's new machine it could actually help me WIN a game?
  3. MAn the captions on those pics are so damn funny, thanks Robb, good way to start work today
  4. WOW, looks like the place is turning into a small amusment park the coaster looks awesome, con't say when, but one of these days i will have to get over there to ride it
  5. AWW man, no pics, oh well, good TR wife has been to Puerto Vallarta, I have not, she's says its AWESOME
  6. WOW!! you can read Al Frankins book, or Rush Limbaugh's, I wouldn't believe either I believe Shepp is obviously not a Bush supporter, Shepp, you live in a country where you can hate the presidents guts, enjoy it As for me, I don't hate him, but I'm not going to sing his praises either, I like to look at the whole picture, and try to see what is going on I feel religion has no place in goverment, leave it alone, let people worship, and let the goverment rule by law I actually applaud Bush promoting alternative fuels, like e85, VERY diffrent for an oil man, now I'm waiting to see what action is taken. There are disagreements regarding Iraq, obviously, but in the end, I feel we need to look foward, and try to relize, now that we have done this, what is the best course of action to get Iraq to be a viable country again anti Bush people say and believe almost anything anti Bush Hardcore republicans say and believe anything pro-Bush the truth is in the middle, Al Frankin loves Bush about as much as Rush Limbaugh loves Clinton, I'm not going to believe anything written by Frankin on Bush, just as I wouldn't read a book by Satan on Jesus, it doesn't make sense, why read a book on someone by someone who not only hates, but disagree's with everything that person believes or stands for Wait for the facts, they will come, and not now either, it can be very difficult to weed out retoric from what I see, here is what I believe on Iraq WMD's, uh, probably not ever there, although, we did get some craptacular intelligence from our buds there in England, that didn't help Saddam, well, I doubt he's missed as a leader, and even if we were wrong, if we can get things done, and get out of there, and I mean ALL THE WAY OUT, Iraq will eventually be alot better off Bush, Obviously he and his associates pushed for the war, wrong or right, were in it up to our knees, was the intelligence faked by Bush, I doubt it, was it streatched a bit, I don't doubt that, but I feel it had more to do with raw emotions than anything else, a poor choice made in anger, everyone has done it, but it usually dosn't have this type of cost associated with it Are we on the Right Path?, I am certainly not the one to answer that, and niether is CNN or the Democrats, or anyone else for that matter, I can tell you that I am personally frustrated at the pace of reconstruction, but there are few people with the intamite knowledge that can honestly answer that question I am obviously in the middle, I try to keep a level head and pay attention I work for Trauma one in New Mexico, so we deal with the news media ALOT when people get injured or killed, and I cannot express to you how inaccurate they really are, take EVERYTHING said by the news media with a HUGE grain of salt. OK, I'm done with this thread now, I believ I have tried to express my feeling, and done so. Chris i
  7. Yeah, well - based on the disinformation fed them by the Bush administration, the American Public wanted the US to destroy Saddam's (nonexistent) WMDs, destroy Saddam's (nonexistent) burgeoning nuclear weapons program, and sever his (nonexistent) ties to Al Qaeda. Mission - as they say - accomplished. Too bad there was no real mission to start with. If we're talking about Saddam's diddling with UN sanctions, let's not forget that there were UN weapons inspectors on the ground who said (quite correctly) that they couldn't find WMDs and that to the best of their knowledge the WMDs that had once been there had been destroyed, and asking for a bit more time to complete their work before Bush invaded a sovereign nation. Bush, of course, countered with the smoking gun/mushroom cloud scare tactics (despite evidence from experts countering the yellowcake and centrifuge tubes nonsense) and marched right in, as - it's well-established - was planned by the Bushies long before 9/11. But hey, since Bush is so responsive to the public will, and since a vast majority of the American Public now wants him to either radically change his policies or get the hell out of the White House... Again, this can go around and around, obviously you are not a fan of George Bush. That said, Bush did not make up the intelligence, even Bill Clinton, who knew about the intelligence agreed, there was some intresting stuff, and it appeared that certian items were acquired by Saddam that was suspicious, the same intelligence was shown to congress, and they overwelmingly voted to give Bush the power to go to war Shepp, you can believe what you want, and I totally understand being rather upset with Bush, he has not been the best president, but the blame for this needs to be shared, he could not do this without approval, and he overwelmingly got it.
  8. the grass is always greener on the other side, as they say.
  9. Ahh the eternal Iraq debate, which could go in circles for years, but in the intrest of fairness, lets take a step back The original post was regarding the Howard Stern show on 9-11, and it was GREAT to hear it again, it really stirs my soul to remember my feelings on that horrible day, the same feelings we all had I am much less critical of the Bush Administration for one simple reason, he's a Politician, and he did basically what the public wanted Congress DID give him the power to make war with Iraq, so its a shared blame, the whole goverment screwed up, regarding WHY we went to war with Iraq So with regards to what we do, I don't think we should cut and run, but we should be planning very seriously to get the hell out of there. As for the conspiracy theory that Bush had this planned all along, well you people need to make a choice regarding Bush, either he is an Evil Genius, or a moron, but not both, I VERY seriously doubt this was heavily pre meditated. I am one for dealing with the problem at hand, We all got into this problem with one VERY angry mindset, now lets pick up the pieces, and try to get Iraq functioning, and then GET OUT
  10. Actually that is the European version of the Accord, and you can get it here, kinda The Acura TL is basically the European Accord, but a bit nicer, and they don't offer a wagon for some reason The Acura TL/Honda Accord Euro version
  11. It's kind of a "development" thing. But you need to get a GBA flashcard, and then install the NES emulator on it. Here's a link that might be able to help you out: http://www.gameboy-advance.net/emulated/nes_roms_on_gba.htm --Robb THANKS!!!!!
  12. WHAT???!!!! A NES emulator, what did I miss here, how the hell do I do that?????!!!!!! I don't know, the DS definatly has major control advantages over the PSP with the touch screen, but it still may not have worked
  13. WOW!!, well I'm kinda shocked Being a musician, and having done a tiny bit of vocal work, the only singers that impressed me this year have been Mandesa, and Paris Mandesa was voted off, but I bet she will do just fine, and if Paris gets voted off I will be pretty shocked, Ace needs to go, Chris sings the same thing every week, and copies Lives lead singer, not really into his voice, Taylor or Elliot are the best male vocalist by alot, and Taylor i feel has the edge because he is original. But it doesn't matter, Paris has already been offered contracts, and Mandesa cound go work for Barry Manilow I still feel this is one of the better groups that they have had
  14. Well thats a major bummer about Katamari, sorry to here they botched the controls I still do not own a PSP, and with as much fun as I'm still having with my DS, I just can't justify the $250 for one, not yet anyway I'm still hopelessly addicted to Animal Crossing
  15. I doubt thier jelous, they just make fun of everything and everyone I thought it was pretty funny, and free pub for Family Guy, i doubt they mind at all
  16. Hmm, maybe, but the overall structure is WAY more sound and will stand up alot longer so maybe its a trade off The steel structured wooden coasters require more upkeep, but you won't be replacing support beams anytime soon I really still believe its the commentment of the park to keep the coaster good, as for the NM Rattler, its the only caoster they got, and thier #1 draw, they better keep it running good, or they will lose business Kinda like the SCBB Giant Dipper, that thing is ancient, and in perfect condition
  17. Yeah, I agree, this is actualkly the first season I am watching, I never really cared about the show to much, but the group of singers this year are pretty talented, so it has held my intrest also, season 5 can have its own thread, diffrent contestants
  18. I'm watching, but intrestingly, I like Paris Bennett, and am not a huge fan of Chris But thats just my opinion, Actually I was pretty suprised when Madisa was voted off, even though she is heavy, she can really sing
  19. Well, I can tell you that here in the VERY dry heat of Albuquerque, you do not want a completely wooden coaster, it would equate to a nightmare!!! The wooden/steel structure is less expensive to build, stronger, is not effected by low humidity, and requeres less maintence not quite sure how anyone could say a steel structured coaster is more maintence intensive than one made entirely out of wood, which expands shrinks cracks, and erodes into dust over time.
  20. Mazda's are GREAT cars, but they are also Ford's, the company who owns them outright. Japanese cars have higher buld quality, but not really better reliability http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5325436 While Toyota and Honda Topped the Quality List, many American car companies did pretty well "Perception lags reality Despite improvements, Ivers, who noted that GM was neck-and-neck with Toyota in the number of highly ranked vehicles, cautioned that Detroit has an image problem stemming from some of its poorly built vehicles of the past, however. “It takes a long time for a reputation to get healed ... The perception tends to lag the reality sometimes by as much as 10 years,” Ivers told reporters on a conference call." In the end, if you buy an american car, it will not break down all the time, contrary to popular beliefe, Japanese cars have higher quality interiors, and some can retain thier value better than American cars, but not all An example, say the Cobalt, which has been mentioned as a "poor quality" vehicle, the engine was developed in Germany by GM opel, it has had a very solid track record in Europe, and was brought over here to replace GM's HORRIBLE 4 bangers in 2002 or 2003. in the end, again, get whatever you want, the Dodge is just a viable as the Honda, would you rather have a Mercedes (Dodge), or a Honda?
  21. They are trying to buy the Storage buildings, and they used to own the TacoBell lot, but sold that and got the entire parking lot PLUS the water park area, so it was a VERY good deal for them, now they just need to buy out the rest of the block If you do come down to ABQ, let me know, we can meet at Cliff's, then have some Carrabba's, LOL
  22. You can thank Cliffs for the way that the New Mexico Rattler. CCI went out of business with less than half of the coaster complete. Cliffs completed the construction. You are right, I have met some of the people who worked on the Rattler after CCI went under, and it was VERY difficult, alot of custom made metal parts, alot of them made right here in Albuquerque by local businesses, so they finished it off right. I'm not sure that has anything to do with how well it has held up, CCI REALLY left Cliff's hanging, the good news is they handled it PERFECTLY!!, and even though it opened late, and cost and extra Million, 3 mil for a decent sized good coaster is VERY cheap!!!!
  23. Cobalts are OK, but are certainly cheap, and you get some decent features for the money, the engine is fine, but not as refined as a Honda engine, but again, it is a fine car For some reason, I have NEVER liked Scions, I think it looks good, but Toyota should not need to try to come out with a new brand name to be "Cool" Remember, DRIVE THEM!!!!, the Cobalt is like a cruise-mobile, but not really very sporty, even though it has plenty of Horsepower DRIVE THEM< LOOK AT EVERYTHING, Know what your going to use the car for Then.... Wait Three days...... then if you still know what you want, GO GET IT!!!!
  24. Well, the New Mexico Rattler has held up pretty well, I don't think thats the case at all, if anyone neglects a ride it will have problems. Cliff's paid 2 million for the Rattler, a Bargian, and the coaster is pretty well taken care of, and it just takes some standard maintence to keep the coaster going. Its the same as your car, if you buy it, and never do anything to keep it running good, it will start running like crap in a few years, no matter if its a Chevy, or a Honda
