Holiday World Expansion 2009?
Voyage_luvr replied to spaceace12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Aquatrax with cars themed to look like the Mayflower. Yea, I'll go with that. -
Your favorite coaster tunnel
Voyage_luvr replied to chavslayer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The triple down on The Voyage. The first time I rode it I was in awe. But I think the Hades tunnel looks pretty awesome as well. -

"And in other news people were evacuated from the Python Pit rollercoaster at Jeepers today. Nobody was injured, but some guest were in shock from the experience" *cut to a heavy set woman with redneck voice* "It was the most horrifying experience of my life. I will never go on another amusement ride again, they are just unsafe." I can see it now!

Went to go see Kung-Fu Panda tonight. It was pretty good. Wasn't the funniest cartoon I have seen in a while, but I still liked it. However, I am really looking forward to seeing Wall-E. So thumbs up for Kung-Fu Panda, and hopefully two thumbs-up for the yet to be seen Wall-E.

no woodie at BGE..why?
Voyage_luvr replied to cathyJ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think a Gravity Group woodie with alot of airtime hills would look great leaping in and out of the treeline. -
I just payed $3.91/gallon tonight at my local Kroger fuel station, and that was with $.03 off/gallon. But I just recently got a new car, a '06 Suzuki Forenza and while only putting in $10, it got me quite a bit of gas in my car. I'm hoping gases drop down a little maybe next weekend now that Memorial Day is over, but I can only expect them to increase more closer to the 4th of July.

I'm definitely seeing both movies, because as much as I love karate-chopping pandas, I'm a sucker for little robots. Wall-E looks to be a very interesting Pixar film. Certainly not quite like anything they've done before, but I think it will be close to there best movie thus far.

I can't believe someone was freakin' talking on a cell phone during a roller coaster ride. How stupid can you be? The only time I've ever used my phone was in the brake-run because the ride had broken down and I got bored, but most of the time I keep my phone in a bag or in a locker. If I was the girl that got hit in the face I would punch the dumb girl that had the cell phone and see how she liked getting hit in the face. Anyways, beautiful and glad you had a good time. You took some very good Millennium Force pictures, I must say. -
Best and Worst Log Flumes
Voyage_luvr replied to gldude's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think my favorite is Dare Devil Falls at Dollywood, and my least favorite would have to be The Splinter at Dixie Landin' in Baton Rouge, LA. The Splinter had a nice looking station, but no theming at all on the ride, and with it's two drops, niether of which really get you wet, because it feels like there are brakes that slow you down quickly after the drop. It could use a tunnel and more smaller drops along the course like Frightful Falls at Holiday World. It just reallly bored me. -
Great Park Operations
Voyage_luvr replied to denning's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Some of the best operations I have seen were at Dollywood, but other than that Holiday World usually has really great timing and dispatching with their coasters. I'll even give Six Flags St. Louis a little credit for how fast they were loading and dispatching Batman The Ride when I was there in October. They would have a train ready and gone before the first one ever made it back to the station. I will say I was impressed and never had to wait more than five minutes (until the line built up like crazy at 8pm) -

hehe Sorry Elissa, I just kinda love my Voyage. Maybe Knoebles will build a Gravity Group woodie sometime soon. -
Waldameer Discussion Thread
Voyage_luvr replied to Millennium ForceJZ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Man, she's a beauty. I really want to make it out to Waldameer and Knoebel's sometime in the next two years. Maybe by the time I get there the Flying Turns will finally be open, but if not I'm sure my grandchildren will love it. I do think that it cannot beat The Voyage though (which I will admit has gotten a little rougher), but it's still the best. Even better than El Toro. -

Not everyone's a fan, but I think the movie's hilarious. I thought my pics were pretty good for phone pics. I would have had more, but I was more concerned with riding everything. Raven 2x The Legend 1x The Voyage 7x Liberty Launch 5x Frightful Falls 1x Eagle's Flight 1x Raging Rapids 2x Turkey-Whirl 1x Gobbler Getaway 3x (highest score 950) The Lewis and Clark Trail 2x Rough Riders 2x Splashin' Safari: Zoombabwe 4x Zinga 2x Jungle Racers 1x Wattubee 1x Bakuli 1x Random Kima Bay and Monsoon Lagoon slides. -
One of my friends was in town this weekend before he goes on military leave to Germany so we decided to take a trip to Holiday World. We picked a perfect day, it was beautiful outside, and everything was a walk-on or less than 10 min wait. Every ride was open, and all 3 coasters were 1 train operation and still walk-ons, minus the 10 minute wait we had while they removed one train from The Voyage. The waterpark had not waits at all and I got to do everything, but it was freezing and I felt like I was dieing, so we didn't stay long. We started our day by riding Raven and Frightful Falls. And I lead you to the photos (all of which were taken on my phone because I forgot my digital at home.) EDIT: Read from bottom up. Fixed the fountain picture. 2nd ride of the day and I got soaked. Mhmm! I love me some Voyage. Paul Revere's Midnight Ride The Voyage, giving fanboys erections since 2006. Gobble Gobble Gobble "This my mother, she is oldest woman in all of Kucek, she is 43!" We all got a little wet on Raging Rapids. There you are, "Gypsy, give me your tears." Yay, Christmas!! It was freezing in Splashin' Safari, but nothing had a wait and we did all the major slides, as well as the Bahari wave pool and the new Kima Bay play area. Sorry for my thumb being in the way. I didn't take many pics in Splashin' Safari. Frightful Falls had these wierd new lights in it's tunnel. I wish they just left the lights off in there like they always did. Legend, it was a little more ridable this year. I didn't come off in pain. "From America I bring back iPod, and for my neighbor, iPod mini, because it is for girls." Sorry, this was a bad shot. The new carousel looked very nice. I went to go ride Liberty Launch and when I get back I find these two covered in powder sugar and not a funnel cake in sight. Needless to say I didn't ask questions. I thought this was a little artsy. Just a little windblown after having 2 consecutive backseat rides on The Voyage. Hold the applause. Goodbye Raven.

Why did they close the front and back rows of the boats? That doesn't make much sense. -
Zippin Pippin updates
Voyage_luvr replied to coasterdude5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was on an art honor society field trip yesterday and it just so happended that we drove by Libertyland. I had never seen the park before and didn't have time to get in any shots, but what I did see was the Zippin' Pippin still standing along with the log flume. That's basically all I was able to see though. I really wish this park was still kind of opened because I'm sure we would have stopped. It would have been more fun than the Memphis Zoo. The only thing worthwhile about that zoo was the two pandas. -
Ask anyone I know and you will find out that you never want to take me to a carnival. haha I basically always get sick. My friends about got a surprise when they made me go on one of those Tornadoes where you get to spin the car. I was sick for the rest of the day. And carnies hate me. I almost got one once because he wouldn't let me off the spider and he heard me and saw that I was about to get sick so I threw up in the grass right next to him and nearly got him. He yelled at me and I told him off. Stupid carnies! I have yet to get sick on a roller coaster, but I cannot do hardly any carnival rides.

Photo TR: Six Flags St. Louis Opening day
Voyage_luvr replied to spaceace12's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Wow, I can't wait to go in about a month or so whenever EK opens. So was Boss alot better than last season. Believe it or not I actually enjoyed Ninja more than Boss and that's saying alot with Ninja being a Vekoma death machine (well at least it's not as bad as a boomerang.) Ninja is a very picky ride. Sometimes I find it enjoyable and other times that ride is a flat out b****. -
Mindbender LOVE
Voyage_luvr replied to CoasterComet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hopefully I will get to ride Mindbender and all the other SFOG coasters this summer. It looks to be a pretty out of your seat ride. I've ridden it on YouTube and I already like it (although I didn't doesn't top The Voyage ) Not too much longer until I can be riding The Voyage. -
I just about pee everytime I see this. Where does Mentos come up with this?

Just saw 21 last night. It was a pretty good movie. 7/10. The only thing I found weird was Jim Sturgess without an English accent like in Across The Universe. I've seen ATU so many times now that I'm just used to hearing that accent. By the way if you haven't seen Across The Universe go rent it, or better yet buy it soon. 9/10
