  1. Dependant on when my family vacation would end up being, I will definitely attempt to make this event. If I were to come it would probably just be by myself unless one of my friends decide to come down and stay with me for a little at the time. In that case it would be at most about 3 people.
  2. ^ Yeah, Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges is a very high quality water ride, but at the same time it's a water torture device. I highly recommend wearing a poncho if you don't want to drown. I guess I should add and agree with everyone that the mini-drop on JTA in SWO is one of the most evil devices I've seen on a water ride. Getting hit with all 8 of the water cannons does not equal how wet you get if you sit in the front row and the water level is up a bit.
  3. One time on Jurassic Park, okay I know it's a splash boat and they are designed to get you as wet as possible from one blow, but here's the thing... There were a couple operational problems that popped up while we were on it, so there was a long line of boats backed up through most of the ride. Finally they get the ride back up and running and we continue on our way. My family and myself were sitting about row 5, so near the back of the boat. We got to the drop, every single person on the boat ended up drenched including the people in the very back. When getting off we see both the boat that was in front of us and the boat that was behind us hardly got wet at all. Later came to discover that thanks to the downtime, the water level was able to build up a bit more at the bottom of the drop and the boat before us had a fairly light load with having only about 4 or 5 adults in it. Therefore, our fat butts caused ALL the additional built up water to own us, and saving the boat behind us from the wetness... fun.
  4. Plain and simple for me: The TPR IntimidaTour My first ever theme park review trip, and it won't be my last.
  5. I was there last Saturday, but sadly by the time I made it to the park Huey has already finished up with the show. I'm kind of sad I missed it, but not sad about missing the crowds. Just enjoyed having Manta as a walk on for the rest of the afternoon.
  6. I finally got a chance to play this last night. My turn came, I positioned the crane, perfectly grabbed a blue ball, it carried it to the prize slot, it dropped it down the slot, but then the screen loaded up the "I'm sorry you lost" screen. That was just wrong and I feel completely cheated. I also have several witnesses from chat last night who can confirm that I did in fact get the ball. I won't be wasting time on this again.
  7. So far for this year: Jan 1- Magic Kingdom from midnight till 2 AM / rest of the day Disney's Hollywood Studios Jan 2- EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Jan 3- Magic Kingdom So far already got 3 parks under my belt, this will be a good year
  8. I felt that since I have always had a bit of a spot in my heart for this ride, I should add my own insight into this. BBW was the first "big" coaster I had ever ridden and is probably what plunged me into my full love of rollercoasters. My experience with this ride is, not as it being an amazing ride, but as it being something routine that I always rode on every one of my trips to the park. To me, it felt like a best friend. Thus in the final year of its life, I felt obligated to give it a proper send off. Many others probably felt this same way and thus the surge in popularity at the end of its life. I never considered this ride one of the greats, in fact I ranked it the lowest out of the rides at the park while it was still around. Even so, my feelings toward this ride are of a very high nostalgic value, thus I look at it through rose colored glasses. I don't see its flaws anymore, I see it for what it means to me. Having spent some of the happiest moments of my life sitting on its train, yes it does bring sorrow to me to see its empty station, but you know what, let bygones be bygones. If the ride that replaces it is anything like what people are hinting at, I say bring on the change! It's just like buying a new car really.
  9. For your first park in RCT3, this looks pretty good. I like how compact things appear to be. I hope to see more good work from you in the future. Keep up the good work!
  10. Carowinds, King's Dominion, King's Island, Cedar Point, Kennywood, Dollywood, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Magic kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios Orlando, Islands of Adventure, and Six Flags Over Georgia. Nice list this year compared to last.
  11. Yay, a perfect excuse for me to dig up one of my old parks again! Psst, hey guys, I think I have the record for most coasters in one park(18). Also I think I may up there in the challenge for most inversions on one coaster(9). I present, still one of my best parks, Golden River Amusement Park , in Clover, SC. *As a note, I just decided on this location for the purpose of this thread. This thread is really cool and I am more than happy to start adding in my work. Stats for the signature ride. Yes my friends, that is a 10.
  12. Only thing I can say is, at least it was done for charity... Here's to hoping they cleaned up afterward! Puffer "Did they have to do it on the family coaster?" fish
  13. I have an awesome thing to post tonight. Today, my crew and I broke our written max capacity while beating during a "power hour." We hit 53 cycles with a total of 1683 riders. I am so proud right now, the closest we had gotten to this before now was just 48 cycles. When we first got it, the higher ups didn't even believe it . To answer your question, I don't remember the park ever selling something like that, but there is a snack stand specializing in ice cream and funnel cakes beside the bathrooms across from Cobra. We do, though, sell "ultimate" funnel cakes which are topped with ice cream, powdered sugar, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream.
  14. I would just like to announce this awesome news, this past week on the 1st and the 4th we held a big competition between Behemoth, Diamondback, and us to see who could get the highest capacity. I am proud to announce that we won on Thursday, beating both rides by over 1000 guests. No official results have been released to us yet on Sunday's results, but I will inform you as soon as I hear.
  15. ^ The second ride was better, and you weren't driving then.
  16. This is quite upsetting, I just rode Hurler the first time this year and yes, all the airtime is now gone. I miss it's glory days, back wen I was able to ride about 10 times in a row with it running extremely smooth with great air. What makes the least amount of sense right now is that last year, right after the trim was added, it was still giving decent airtime over pretty much all of the hills. Anyways at least I can report one good thing. Nighthawk was running amazingly well today, didn't hurt at all.
  17. Might as well add my top ten in. 1. Epcot 2. Busch Gardens Williamsburg 3. Dollywood 4. Cedar Point 5. Sea World Orlando 6. Islands of Adventure 7. Disney's Hollywood Studios 8. Busch Gardens Tampa 9. Universal Studios Orlando 10. Carowinds (Only in this spot thanks to Intimidator)
  18. ^Heehee nightcrew is awesome. Anyways, wow Fooz, this looks amazing. I seriously had no idea before now that you were into RCT. It would be really cool if you pick this up and finish it out. I do that a lot to my parks, let them sit for a while and then unearth them, it always help you appreciate your own work better.
  19. ^It was great meeting you guys today. I was worried that by me coming in for closing shift I might have missed you. I'm really glad you guys were able to come today, today was one of its better days. While it still wasn't running the same it was when I got my best ride on it, it was pretty close. Now to add into everyone's conversation on the inconsistencies, yes we have them. At the start of the year it was running pretty consistent, but recently there have been a couple bad days, but at the same time there have been a few good days, and at least one perfect day for the ride. On the bad days, yes I'd rank it pretty low, but I've had enough good experiences that it has been able to keep it's number 1 steel spot with me. Also to the people talking about local bias, if positive opinions were only coming from people within an hour's drive of the park, I would agree with you. Sadly the bulk of the positive comments I myself have been hearing are from people completely out of state. I think we've had more visitors in the park so far this year than locals.
  20. ^Being a ride op anywhere isn't easy. It's just you got the problem child to take care of, and I got the popular kid.
  21. ^Yay, my baby! Those were some pretty impressive pictures you took at BGE/W, great job you really brought out the beauty in the park.
  22. ^You still have a long way to go to reach my 70 rides. You did fail to mention that after that first hour was over, the crowds exploded and we had over a half hour line. Crowds were surprisingly sparse today though. We had a 5 minute line for most of the day, very strange for a Friday educational day.
  23. *Edit, a lot of people suddenly asked/answered my same question. Anyways, great Photo TR, both of these parks are pretty high on my "must visit" list.
  24. ^No, we have no l ocker policy, though we do supply them if you want to use them. There's a set by Nighthawk that only cost 75 cents and is perfect for storing items while you do Nighthawk and Intimidator. The other 2 "kid" rides are a Vekoma Jr. Suspended, which I would recommend skipping unless you REALLY want the credit, and a PTC Jr woodie which has a decent amount of airtime in the back rows. Don't forget about the flyers. We promote snapping, so you can get a really good ride on them.
  25. ^^Just as a short explanation, our rain mode requires a full block be left between both trains at all times. Thankfully we rarely use this mode. Just be glad we have a rain mode, otherwise we would go down to only 1 train during rain, just like all the other rides. As another note, anyone who hasn't checked out the retheme of Boo Blasters, you seriously need to. It has become a really nice dark ride now including a lot of new special effects. The kinda cheesy name is one of the most deceiving things ever. This ride is no longer the family friendly thing it used to be. I have even witnessed kids crying when they get off of the ride. Also, it's worth it to ride in 3D.
