Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
BarryH replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Fastpass, Fastpass, Fastpass...way back in the late 1990's, my former girlfriend and I stood in a 60 minute line for TOT. There were no Fastpasses. We just waited with everyone else. So no Fastpasses stopped anyone from visiting WDW. Also, back then, we had to go up the hill both ways for 10 miles in the snow to get to WDW. We had to pay for our visit in sea shells and bottle caps. BTMRR had no lapbars and kids were flying out of the coaster this way and that. And we liked it, we loved it! -

They can update Test Track all they want, but by God, don't take away the single riders line! -

I did the Sea World luau Christmas edition many years ago. I thought it was pretty good. I remember one big guy performer used to call gusts by what city they were from, like "Cleveland," "Tampa," "New York," etc. Now let's do the luau at the Royal Pacific Resort and compare notes! -

Why not just call it "Spinning Coaster?" -
Busch Gardens Bash was Red Dawn Awesome! I did have problems with my annual pass (credit card for EZ Pay was messed up) and I got a little sick at around 3 and missed the HOS tour (due to about 3 hours of sleep the night before), but no one is to blame for that except me. I finally got to ride front seat on Cheetah Hunt. I'm glad we got the front of the line passes for HOS. I was seeing hour long lines for the houses all night. Nevermore hit 2 hours! Crazy! When is the next Busch Gardens Bash? I would also attend the Legoland Bash, whenever that is.

Fright Feast is sold out for Saturday and I didn't buy my tickets in time. Oh well, I will have a Falafel at Pita Pit beforehand. I'll be doing HHN tomorrow. On Sunday, I'm doing Sea World and MNSSHP. I hope during the Bash and I can leave the park for a mid-afternoon break. it's going to be a long day!

I did a Google search for hoker and here's what came up: Ho´ker n. 1. Scorn; derision; abusive talk. Amy: I'm thinking of getting the Fright Feast too. I should be able to get a passholder discount. So I will need someone to sit with too. The houses aren't too bad. I'm willing to take some chickens through some houses. I'll go in first. Actually, if you're a chicken, I would do the houses in this order: The prison house (I can't remember the name) Deconstruction (rubbery body parts are scary?) Nightshade Toys Vampire Casino Zombie Mortuary Nevermore Actually, if you only see one house, I would choose Nevermore followed by Zombie Mortuary. ...and you gotta see Fiends.

I hope they give out banannas again this year! -
I've stayed there. It's OK. The rooms are clean and you get a free breakfast with a waffle maker. It's right by the police department. The place has kind of a maze-like layout, though. I think $55 is a little high to pay for the hotel, but the closeness to BG can't be beat and it's probably one of the better hotels on Busch Blvd.

POLL: Waterslide Riding Position?
BarryH replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do cross-armed, but I go by what the ride op says. Doing the behind the head thing sounds like it will be painful to the elbows. -
I bought my tickets for the bash. I was going to wait, but I didn't want to risk a sellout. Even though I've been to BGT a million times, I think this is going to be the bestest time I've ever had at BGT. I did balk a little at the cost, but I think it's worth it. Cost of hotel room = $50 Cost of tickets = $90 Cost of breakfast = $10 Having a Red Dawn Awesome time with TPR at BGT = PRICELESS!

I think I visited the Central Florida Zoo in 2003 or 2004. I don't remember it looking like this! I remember a lot of dirt. -
Dueling Dragons has been dueling for over a decade without incident and now after things hit 2 people, they no longer duel? I find it interesting they were able to duel since the park opened in 1999. However, I do understand Universal's position and I hope they find out what hit their guests and are able to rectify the situation.

If I remember right, you can stay in the park from around 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm if you have a HOS ticket. I remember last year entering the park with a HOS ticket at around 6:00 pm. They give you an armband at the entrance to make sure you are a paid HOS guest. I remember riding Kumba in the front row with no wait, as well as Sheikra and the log flume ride with no wait either. BTW, the Fright Feast is worth it. You get a great dinner, a show, and 30 minutes access to the houses before the guests are allowed in. I think having Fright Feast and a front of the line HOS pass may be a bit overkill, though. But for $25 for the buffet at Fright Feast? Definitely worth it!

The USS American Victory: pay $10 to see a rusty and dirty ship. Yay! This has to be the oddest of the Oddventures. Strangely, now I want to see its skankiness for myself. I showed a friend the photos of the Presidents Hall of Fame. His response: "It looks like an attic vomited." -

Bah! Robb and Elissa have survived typhoons in Japan. Surely that can handle a silly little thing like an earthquake! -
Theme Park Review in JAPAN! 2011

I believe TPR went into the mirror universe Japan. There's little rain during the rainy season and they had a good day at Fuji-Q. Next thing you know, Robb will be sporting a goatee.
