Hey, did you ever find out what a Quarter Pounder was called in France? I hope you took a photo!

I almost credit whored the Minor Mike at Celebration Station. I felt really dirty doing it. When I arrived, I took one look at the place and the coaster and said, "Hell, no!"

How many times the same ride in a day ?
BarryH replied to mingsai's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think I rode the Ozark Wildcat 18 times. The line was 5 minutes or less! -
The rule of thumb for HHN is that the closer it gets to Halloween, the more crowded it becomes. Usually, the Saturday before Halloween is packed. Saturdays basically are the busiest times during HHN. If you want to avoid crowds, arrive early, do the Stay and Scream program (if you're in the park at around 5 or 5:30, you can stay until the houses open, usually around 6:30), use HHN Universal Express tickets, or take the VIP tour. Also in the Orlando area for Halloween is MNSSHP at MK, Phobia at CG, and Howl-O-Scream at BGT. Howl-O-Scream in recent years has become on par with HHN.

Here's my SFGAdv video. Kindga Ka was down, but the antics were up! See video of the coasters, flat rides, the evil Six Flags bus, butt marks, and more! The video is about 4 minutes long and about 10 MB large. It's in .wmv format. You can download it here: http://s46.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2ZSLSYQOX36BO0E02JTWWEWYK8 I checked out the link and I think it works. Enjoy!

I love Uncle Bernie's. That Jungle train ride had great common jungle animals to see like cows and deer!

I don't count relocated coasters, unless the layout has been changed. Dang, I can't count the Starliner twice when it comes to Cypress Gardens!

Hmm...is the Whizzer going to be removed and sent to Astroworld?

Here is the "Queen of Credit Whores." I'm going to hide!!!!!!

Whenever I pull into a McDonald's, I sing the "Super Size Me" theme song. I don't eat at McD's very much anyway. I much prefer Wendy's. Hmmm...salads!

Check out my Typhoon Lagoon video
BarryH replied to BarryH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a waterproof camera enclosure that is good for about 15 feet, so my camera did not swim naked! The enclosure held up very well, but it was heavy! -
What's up with this?

What's Your Favorite DLR Show?
BarryH replied to GalacticHero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The most underrated show is the D.U.H. show at DCA. I never laughed so hard in my life! -
The Florida Coaster Club invaded Typhoon Lagoon this Sunday and here is the video of the wackiness. It's the first time I used a waterproof camera to film POVs of the slides. I think I did an OK job with the POVs, but it was rough holding onto the camera during Crush N Gusher! That thing is fast! The video is about 3 minutes long, in .wmv format, and about 15 GB large. Here is the link to download it: http://s53.yousendit.com/d.php?id=1QODMUHCFA80839F7WHGTEFGGO EDIT: If the above link doesn't work, try this one: http://s51.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=14C37MGAG4PPO2LMB80QK23D71

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
BarryH replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I overheard a mom saying this to her kids during a thunderstorm at Clementon Amusement Park... "Don't you know anything? Lightning is the electric shock. Thunder is the electrostatic discharge. Didn't you learn anything in school?" I wonder what she learned in school, because lightning and thunder are defined below according to Wilkipedia... Lightning is a powerful natural electrostatic discharge produced during a thunderstorm. Lightning's abrupt electric discharge is accompanied by the emission of light. The electricity passing through the discharge channels rapidly heats and expands the air into a plasma, producing lightning's characteristic thunder sound. Thunder is the sound of the shockwave caused when lightning instantly heats the air around it to up to 30 000 °C (54 000 °F). That super-heated air expands rapidly, then contracts as it cools. The rapid expansion/contraction generates sound waves, making the sound that is called "thunder." Because sound and light travel at different speeds through the atmosphere, one can time the interval between them to roughly estimate how far away the bolt of lighting is. The speed of sound in air is approximately 340 m/s (761 mph), while the speed of light is so fast that the lightning is seen only a few microseconds after the event, so the lightning is approximately one kilometre distant for every 3 second interval (one mile for every 5 seconds). They're also the names of the trains in Lightning Racer. I wanted to correct her so bad, but I laughed at her to myself and come on, it's Clementon Amusement Park! -

Man, my CD collection is filled with Aqua and Hilary Duff, thanks to Robb and Elissa's videos! -
I think they should send Flashback to Astroworld!

Favorite Dark Ride
BarryH replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like darkrides, but the companies that do it the best are Universal and Disney. Other dark rides at other parks tend to be very cheesy, terrible, or just look really cheap. The Haunted House at Knoebel's is one of the best dark rides outside the major theme parks that I've ridden. Besides, there are other things to do at parks besides coasters. Yes, it's true! Don't faint! -
Well, I'm on the road in PA on a coaster tour. My Internet access is limited since I left my computer at home (my desktop would not fit into the suitcase ). I will check in from time to time when I can access a computer. Here's where I've been so far: 7/16 -- Williams Grove and Dorney Park Williams Grove I've been curious about Williams Grove and riding the Cyclone. How bad could it be? Well, it was pretty bad. Williams Grove kind of reminded me of Knoebel's because they are both amusement parks in the forest. That's where the similarities end. If Knoebel's is the Disneyland of amusement parks in forests, then Williams Grove is the Six Flags. It was a "ghetto Knoebel's." There was a group of flat rides bunched up and hen a few rides in the middle of the field. Most of the employees seemed spaced out. The Dante's Inferno ride sqeaked so much that it sounded like it was dying. The flat rides were a notch below in shape from a carny ride. I didn't get to ride the Cyclone because the train was stuck on the lift the entire time I was there. Still, I got my Wildcat credit. The park left a ghetto impression me that I don't want to visit again, even if the Cyclone is open. I didn't get any ticks on me though. Even though I had the coaster credits at Knobel's I wish I had driven 3 hours north instead of visiting Williams Grove. Dorney Park I left Williams Grove after 75 minutes and went to Dorney. Dorney Park didn't leave a good impression on me when I visited a few years ago. I wanted to visit to ride Hydra and the Woodstock Express (I didn't get this credit last time). I thought Hydra was a pretty good ride overall. The cobra roll was the funkiest looking one I've ever seen. Usually the cobra rolls that I've seen is in the shape of an H. This one was V shaped. If you want forces on Hydra, sit in the back or the front. I sat in row 4 and I felt no forces! Th jojo roll was interesting. The Woodstock Express was in a class on its own. I had a hard time fitting into the seat, so I put the lap bar between my legs. Suffice to say, my family jewels were quite bruised! The things I do for a credit. I rode Talon (forceless everywhere except the back), Thunderhawk (it was so fast in the rain!), and Steel Force (eh, another Morgan coaster). Laser was interesting because during the helix, my body tilted over so far that I hit my head against the seat next to me! I don't know, if I had brain damage, but how can you tell? I stayed at Dorney for about 5 hours even with some videotaping. I could have entired at 5 pm and done a Starlight admission instead of entering at 3. Oh well... There were hardly any lines. Every coaster was a walk-on. I waited 5 minutes for Steel Force and Dominator once. Next up: Today: Bowcraft, Clementon, Blue Diamond (if there's time) 7/17: PKD 7/18: BGW 7/19-7/20: SFGAdv

Coaster Loading Crews
BarryH replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The fastest I've seen is the Phoenix crew at Knoebel's, with the Rock N Roller Coaster crew at Disney Studios a close 2nd. -
Carnivals And Carnies
BarryH replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've never seen so many people smoking than what I see at fairs. I think to be a carnie, you have to be a smoker too! I think I almost choked to death on the nicotine smoke! -
Indiana Jones Adventure at WDW?
BarryH replied to JayDarkKnight25's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wonder if the Indiana Jones ride could be like the one at Disneyland Paris? I thought the Indy Jones ride at DL was a lot cooler than Dinosaur.
