  1. I love love love it. So exiting to see a unique, imaginative color scheme on a ride. Totally fits the theme. Added bonus of the launch track not showing the grease and grime that’ll eventually cover it.
  2. You’re correct. I’ve seen all four colors over the decades. Not sure how many operable trains are still in the existence, however.
  3. I’m diggin it. It keeps the spirit of the old color scheme while adding some new flare (no pun intended).
  4. Yeah, somewhere along the line after Arrow left the scene, coasters went from whizzing right into the station right at the end of the ride to a 20-30 second long production of inching along a half-mile brake run into the station. I don’t get it either.
  5. Apparently word on the street is that Xcelerator’s new paint job is going to be some sort of ombré red-yellow-gray scheme in some spots. I think it’ll look wicked cool when it’s done. Pics floating around Instagram if you search #knottsberryfarm or #xcelerator I guess it could be primer, but I’m not sure why there’d be two different primer colors, and the yellow is only in short sections between what’s currently red and gray.
  6. Glad to see they plan to keep the covered bridge - that should keep some of the (gasp!) charm in the area. Now to hope that the big, mature trees in the area are spared and the entire area isn't clear-cut.
  7. I wonder if all 20 coasters will ever actually be open simultaneously?
  8. That's the most Six Flags thing I've heard - make it a rule to only open the gates for 3 seconds to "speed things up" (I guess to increase capacity?) only to make it so that guests can't get thru the gates in time and send out empty rows OH, and still stack every cycle because I assume SF ride ops are being SF ride ops and goofing around/wasting time doing nothing/don't care. But hey, they're trying because they have the three second gate rule As a former ride op, this both tickles and infuriates me.
  9. I'm sure Six Flags didn't spend all of that money to get new trains and upgrade everything else if it wasn't necessary. Of course in a perfect world the original trains would last forever and the ride would run just like it did in 1978. If the ride has lost some of its bite and it's now a somewhat neutered experience, that is sad, but given the choice between what we have now and the ride being removed, I'll gladly take the former.
  10. Living in Seattle, I've had to show my proof of vaccination for several different restaurants, theaters and a Mariners game, and a photo on my phone of my CDC card was fine for all of those. And as coasterbill said, they're not gonna give a crap anyway. There is way too much information to check and match to your ID, and way too many people to get through to be overly meticulous.
  11. I’d love to think they’ll do something unique and contemporary, like a dark forest green, teal, or even a burnt orange to go with the bright green, but you know it’s gonna be another standard color right off the ROYGBV color wheel Prove me wrong, Six Flags!
  12. Well the idea of a color change on Tatsu is intriguing! 👁👁 Wonder what track color they’re thinking of…
  13. It’s definitely a move in the right direction, but it’s going to take a long time to undo the damage done.
  14. Well I don’t blame you. 14 years of shutting down the entire park for the slightest drizzle, and anyone who has ever visited on a day like that will never want to visit again if there’s even a chance of rain. I know a lot of our forum members are too young to remember, but Cedar Point used to run most rides in heavy rain (so long as it wasn’t accompanied by lightning) until the accident on Magnum in 2007 that they blamed on “the rain”
  15. Imagine getting so worked up about one SF park not getting shiny new rides. Dude, you live literally in the center of the country and within a day's drive or two hour flight of nearly every park east of the Mississippi. Go somewhere else.
  16. They had to turn the cameras off because the trucks with track for the 500-footer have arrived, duh.
  17. Maybe the remaining wooden track is now in need of I-box replacement. Wasn’t that scheduled for the off-season?
  18. Thanks for the review! It’s a shame the original trains are gone, but if the choice was to either get new trains or have the ride removed entirely, I’m sure we can all agree that Six Flags made the better choice! Considering how much money it sounds like they just put into this ride, I hope we are able to enjoy it for another 43 years!
  19. Best way to watch a parade is to power walk the opposite way it’s traveling and see the entire thing in 5 minutes.
  20. Dueling RMCs confirmed. One with both red tracks and one with red/blue combo.
  21. Sounds like nothing has changed at Valravn since June when I went. I could have sworn I was a Six Flags park once we (finally) got up to the station to see the crew was having just a grand ol time doing anything and everything other than checking seats. They even insisted on making the entire platform watch one of the crew do a little dance before dispatching. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for having fun at work, but when you’re consistently stacking all three trains for several minutes every cycle, maybe dial it down a notch. Slowest moving coaster line of the entire three day trip, hands down.
  22. I agree. Giving away free Fast Lanes seems like a bad deal for everyone - for the guests who didn’t buy it that day AND the guests who did spring for it that day, because you know most of the free ones are going to be used those horrendous Saturdays in October when I don’t know why anyone in their right mind would ever want to be there in the first place.
  23. I’ll get a good kick out of it when it’s the (severely needed) expansion to Planet Snoopy complete with actual family attractions that do more than just turn in slow circles and everyone still complains
