  1. I really don’t see why Cedar Point hasn’t capitalized on upping the price of FL+ on days they know it’s going to be bats*** insane. Charge $400 for it. Meet the demand. I’d be really irritated if I spent $150 on FL+ and still waited an hour for SV.
  2. I’m always down for a nice place at parks to enjoy a cold beer. This looks fantastic. I’ll take this over Wicked Twister any day!
  3. Absolutely. There’s nothing preventing them from running the LSMs a quarter of the way (or more) up the tower. It wouldn’t be as powerful of a launch and would take away a lot of the point of the ride, but space constraints are not an issue.
  4. Why on earth would they be open to anyone other than the park about the issues?
  5. The phones that go flying out on rides almost exclusively do so out of riders’ pockets. After working at Cedar Point for 5 years (and Magnum for 3 of those, which is the king of lost phones) almost everyone at the end of the night looking for their phone said it flew right out of their pocket. I’ve always contended that one of the safest places for your phone is actually a firm grip in your hand (but not holding it up in their air making a video). I’m not condoning bringing a phone on a ride, because clearly the safest place for your phone and for all riders is not on the ride at all, but demonizing someone for simply having a phone on a ride when it’s just in their pocket, where they think it’s perfectly fine, isn’t fair. Most people don’t have a good understanding of how the physics of airtime on a coaster can literally fling it right out. We’ve all had a phone in our pocket on a ride.
  6. Let's also not pretend that every one of us at least once has taken a phone on a ride. We all could have been that little girl and we all could have been the person whose phone got away from them.
  7. That’s where they’re going to start laying out pieces of Dragster and let the dump trucks take it away for scrap.
  8. I completely forgot about this addition and find this hilarious. A 2-year delay (really 3-year but I’ll cut them some slack for 2020)… a delay partly in the name of “capacity”
  9. Or they must’ve transferred to Kings Island. It’s baffling how two parks ran by the same company in the same state only a few hours apart can operate so night and day.
  10. That’s the most Cedar Point thing ever to hold riders hostage on a ride for 15 minutes when all anyone has to do is hop off their horse, and then to call security on a guy who has the common sense to just hop off This, coming from someone who worked there for 5 summers
  11. It’s Ohio in June. There’s always a 40% chance of thunderstorms. But seriously, it’s Ohio in June - they can’t predict anything a week out so I wouldn’t be concerned just yet. But also hope for no rain. It’s Cedar Point and they have the industry’s worst rain policy.
  12. Yeah I hate when amusement parks sully their own beauty by building roller coasters.
  13. I was just saying it’s funny that I’ve heard of reports of Beast being trimmed “more than ever” on seemingly dozens of instances over the span of 15ish years. Like, there’s only so much speed that can be taken off before the trains don’t make it around the course. You’ve ridden it this year. I have not. So you’re clearly more qualified to make that call. And everything I say on here is about 90% sarcasm
  14. Beast has been trimmed hard for about 20 years now, no? I can’t even begin to estimate the number of times someone on this board has said Beast has been trimmed “more than before” … yet somehow the trains are still able to make it around the tracks. Seems to me that there’s only so much speed they can take off
  15. Everyone knows you have to visit Cedar Point in that magical three-week time span every season where rides are open, actually running at full capacity and food locations are open. But be quick because as soon as school is back in session it’s all over!
  16. Most wooden coasters are trash. I’d say 60-75% of parks do not take appropriate care of their woodies and take the “as long as riders aren’t coming off with concussions it’s smooth enough” approach. Save for some *true* classics, I’m all for just about every park RMCing or Titan-tracking their woodies, because I’d rather have a smooth ride than a garbage “real” wooden coaster.
  17. I mostly was commenting on Aquaman in jest. I think we all know there was a pandemic that threw a monkey wrench into the construction timeline. Although I do think it’s funny that they decided after construction had already begun to add the turntable. It’s the most Six Flags thing ever to make that kind of decision. But at the same time the most un-Six Flags thing ever to make that decision in the name of capacity Also rest assured: It’s surely opening before SFSL’s carousel
  18. So Aquaman, you know, that ride that was announced in 2019? Is it actually going to open this summer? I know it’s not a carousel that takes the minimum required 3 years to overhaul, so this seems excessive.
  19. It’s a shame that Vekoma Flying Dutchmen still exist. If they didn’t, you wouldn’t have to worry about it
  20. Good thing it wasn’t raining. CF loves to blame rides colliding on that.
  21. Funny thing is the taller you are, seems more likely that you’d break your leg trying to get in and out of those horrendous trains.
  22. Should have kept Panda Express. Chop Six at SFFT was awful. Takes a lot to get orange chicken wrong.
  23. Unless the extension is for a different, unrelated ride. It makes no sense to have two multi-launch back and forth (whatever the correct term is LOL) coasters in the same park. But people said the same thing when Leviathan was announced, that it made no sense to have two B&M hypers in the same park, and here we are All I’m saying is that if that’s an actual model in consideration, it’s a boring looking ride unless it’s themed out the wazoo, which if Pantheon is any indication, it won’t be.
  24. I feel like that was a potential design when Pantheon was being discussed. Clearly they went with a far superior layout than whatever the hell that thing was.
  25. Their reasoning is likely because of the backward section. Rather than the forces/wind keeping glasses on your face they could potentially be forced off. And sometimes loose article policies have literally no rhyme or reason, so it could always be that.
