  1. Seems to me that China has two options: abandon their “zero Covid” policy or be in lockdown for the rest of eternity. Glad I don’t live there. I’d really like to visit the Disney parks eventually…
  2. A Six Flags park sending out a train in 30 seconds This is the same park that had their star attraction (IR) running one train on a Friday during spring break last week. There was a 3-hour line and filled entire empty rows from the singer rider line rather than try to find groups of two from standby. That MCBR is there only to feature a second near vertical drop. Capacity is the last thing on their mind.
  3. Looks steeper (and longer) than Yukon Striker’s post-MCBR drop… Not that that’s saying much Impressive considering the smaller stature of the ride in general. Should provide a good pop of air!
  4. I doubt it. The only invert to open since Banshee is Monster and it sports the standard trains. If this overhaul is anything like Hulk, it’s going to be an exact replacement taken from the original blueprints and wouldn’t be able to accommodate the wider trains anyway... I also think that parks have taken notice at how horribly jack-hammery Banshee is with that new train design. Why would any park want that when they could get the standard train? Still not sure why B&M insisted on messing with perfection with those trains.
  5. If by “closed for Covid” you mean “closed because it’s one less ride to maintain and staff” then yes, it was closed due to Covid
  6. Thing is any coaster can stay around forever if the park is willing to spend the cash on constant refurbishment and replacement. Thing also is that Corkscrew is a tiny ride in comparison to Kumba and therefore requires less resources to keep around.
  7. Here’s to hoping that when the time comes, Busch gives Kumba the Incredible Hulk/Nemesis treatment and not the Dueling Dragons treatment People still really love the ride. While it doesn’t get a line like Sheikra gets, it’s fun to listen to comments about how much fun it was on the final brake run nearly 30 years later.
  8. I’d be shocked if this thing was open at any point during summer. September seems more likely.
  9. Well that’s subjective. But if that’s the case then someone better tell Universal that their marketing would be more effective for Velocicoaster if the track was neon orange
  10. Grey and black was the best. I also loved the all-black Batman schemes. Don’t know why SF is so against any dark, non super flashy color scheme.
  11. Because believe it or not, the park doesn’t want FL guests to go round and round and ride MF 15 times in an hour while everyone else waits 90 min.
  12. I’m sure it has been, but it was in every press release and statement from every company on earth for the longest time at the onset of the pandemic. They couldn’t get enough of it
  13. “An abundance of caution”… one of the most tired, eye-rolling phrases to come out of the pandemic
  14. So much for filling that family demographic So it’s a 54”, non-inverting, comfort collar sporting adult attraction now.
  15. Mike beat me to it, but an accident is rarely cause for a ride to shut down forever. Rides that have literally killed people have reopened. Insuring the ride is not a barrier. Major reworking of the queue is much more likely, and would be welcome, personally. That queue always made me a bit uneasy.
  16. When they announced $20/hr pay last year, I always assumed it was a one-season solution to what was a nationwide staffing shortage. Doesn’t make it any easier of a pill to swallow for those employees who worked at the park last year.
  17. Well this is exciting and scary. I hope the vast majority of the landscaping that has grown in around the ride over the last 25+ years can be retained. I know it’s going to be very challenging for them to get equipment into the area. I hope the land clearing will be minimal to get cranes placed where they need to be. But also exciting because we’re essentially going to be getting a brand new Nemesis that’ll last at least another 30 years!
  18. I’ve heard this rumor recently as well… I wonder if we’d be looking at an Incredible Hulk complete and total tear down and rebuild?
  19. It’s such a great looking ride in a stunning location. I’m personally a giant Viper fanboy. Perhaps my favorite ride in the park some days depending on whether or not I get a dueling ride on Twisted Colossus. I do hope it’s around for a while longer - blows my mind that it’s the largest looper Arrow ever made and it’s somehow still standing when it’s clearly size that is this model’s downfall.
  20. Same reason it takes a lot longer to refurbish a classic car instead of just building a brand new car at a factory. When you’re (presumably) keeping many of the original components extra care needs to be taken.
  21. It’s true though - I’m a typical millennial who hates talking on the phone as much as the next guy, but if there was a phone number to call plainly stated for answers to questions I would not get on a message board to ask my question
  22. Wow interesting! The new track on Racer was butter smooth, this should be fantastic! Can anyone clarify what they mean about the upper and lower bents in that last paragraph?
