Lotte World Adding 3 New Attractions For....2016!
Garet replied to Garet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The VR area in B3 is now a permanent area, It can be accessed from outside Lotte World for people in just the mall and each of the zones is a separate charge. It can also be accessed from inside Lotte World, but since the park is normally a no re-entry park, they give you an invisible stamp to allow you there. -

I thought reading it the description compact coaster with both way launches would be a sky rocket II but I guess that is probably the impulse coaster. -

^Also throw in the fact that one of the big topics here, especially since the Sewol disaster, is about putting safety over cutting costs. There would be a lot of bad publicity if the ride so much as e-stopped for a few hours and the press got wind the park had skipped on costs to get a Chinese knock-off prototype over the real thing. -

The only thing that holds me back from that is E-Land also just added the same two Zamperla rides so it could be potentially there instead. The other thing is the construction site seems a little big, there's a picture of it on RCDB but I also think that's where two areas are going: Midgard and Nifelheim with the megaswing as well. As I said all artwork points to a B&M Dive Coaster (I'm really hoping it's also not Golden Horse) but I've seen enough artwork be crazily different that I tend to only read the Korean and all that mentions is 90 degree drop which could be a Thunderbolt. I won't get my hopes up until the track shows up. Last time TPR visited was 2008? And since then in terms of roller coasters: Minus one Eagles Fortress (to be replaced with a garden), the Aquatrax become just a trax (I can't remember the last time it ran the water) and the only addition is one Vekoma Family Suspended. However coming soon is Legoland Korea, the Jeju Resort and potentiality a Dive Coaster of some sort/Thunderbolt. -

I really hope not. The fact that it's the only Korean park with a B&M should make me hopeful but who knows. The fact the official site uses a TPR video complete with Robb's commentary makes me laugh. But then again I've seen projects so different from their artwork here part of me thinks that until track shows up this 90 degree drop they keep advertising will be the Zamperla Thunderbolt coming to Korea despite the B&M concept art and videos. -
My personal pipe dream of this would be sets of trackless vehicles going through a dark ride race course interacting with each other, changing speeds and there being riderless trackless vehicles showing up as shells at one point. Throw in some banana scenery making random cars spin and perhaps one projected room where after the lights flash on everything is bigger for lightning.

Interesting to see Lotte World got a spike when Everland did not. Especially with the insane money spent and media push Everland did with the introduction of pandas coming to Korea in the spring. There were huge grouping areas painted on the paths so seems they were banking big but the crowds never materialized, it's been a walk-on almost every day to see them. It'll be interesting to see how the numbers go for both parks this year. Pluses for Lotte World are the huge Lotte Tower Observation opening next door bringing more tourists into the area and the fact their 2016 attractions opened at the very end of the year (Gyro Drop and French Revolution being Korea's first VR on a ride and coaster) as well as a flying theater should have a knock on for 2017. Negatives being there is a spat with China due to Lotte selling land to allow the deployment of THAAD and the Chinese government leading retaliations by closing their stores in China not to mention some anti Lotte movements now from the Chinese when Chinese tourists make up i've heard around 5-10% of attendance (i'm not stating this to be political or judging just in the context of attendance) Everland have also had bad press in terms of Samsung's bribery scandal and the Samsung CEO being in jail. They've also replaced rides or are going to (Eagle's Fortress and Global Village) with gardens or upcharge VR which won't bring in too many crowds. There have been signs of cuts around the park such as less parades and the hotel not being built etc.

So after the knock off it's a small world was removed and replaced with a garden, it seems this is now also what is fated to replace Eagle's Fortress. The construction walls don't mention the hotel anymore but a new garden. To be fair to the park, it's a huge site so it could be a case of part of it will be a garden and the rest is for future development (please don't let this be where the Korean Zamperla Thunderbolt ends up) -
I'm curious if there was a reason why there haven't been meet and greets before? Is it just a case of because Shrek was the only ride there wasn't a need for them? I remember going to USS a year after opening and meeting Po. Granted their Dreamworks selection was a bit bigger with Madgascar and Shrek 4D (Puss in Boot wasn't under construction yet) but we didn't see anything Kung Fu panda related in the park.

Korean parks have been pretty stagnant lately with nothing major for quite a while, not sure why but a lot of the parks have suddenly started expanding and it's great! Two parks that were relatively unchanged installed Zamperla air races and 360 swings, there's a B&M Dive Coaster and Zamperla Thunderbolt coming (not excited for that but at least something new is coming), Legoland and this project as well as talks again about some of the Incheon projects. Sadly still no Universal Studios near my house 8 years later though. From what I've heard of this project and even the site you have listed has a picture of flight times, their big push with this seems to be aiming more for bringing in the Chinese tourists/cashing in on China's theme park boom than aiming at the Koreans.

In several trip reports, I've read people have not even been able to ride some slides as they have run out of available slots for the day. As I mentioned earlier, this seems to be a recurring theme for reservation only experiments, they would be gone 3-4 hours after opening all the time here whenever a ride was reservation only in the Korean parks.
-
I've made my negative feelings clear on reservation only in another topic when some Korean water parks or theme parks have tested by making 3 rides/slides in the park reservation only but I do worry that a lot of the problems in your TR are one's that never seemed to go away here when it was tried even months later. 1) Even with reservation hitting a standby line. Big roller-coasters running 3 trains would still have 15-20 minute lines with reservation only so obviously with a water slide it was going to be worse. They can reduce the numbers but that leads me to point 2... 2) The reservations here would run out stupidly early on busy days. And again this is a coaster with a much higher PPH than water slides. If they did adjust the numbers to reduce standby I can see them running out stupidly early. I should point out that the systems here didn't use wait times like VB but return time slots, same as fast-pass but it's essentially the same. On peak days the tickets around midday were gone. 3) Sometimes you'd only be there for the coaster and if you had a ticket for 6 hours later, you kind of just ending up sitting around or giving up. I know they say it reduces your wait but I'd rather just stick it out for 90 minutes at 2 P.M. than sit around until 6 P.M. for a 20 minute line. 4) This one might sound stupid but it always felt like the time-slots controlled my day and I lost my freedom in the park, constantly checking the clock. I know using q bots/fast pass is also on a time slot but i still had the freedom of choice to hop into standbys. For VB you have to gamble grabbing the short lines first and risk the longer ones selling out or grab a long slide and sit around. 5) This one doesn't apply to VB so much but it was incredibly frustrating to see half empty trains go round at times because the next slot hadn't started yet. If I was to make this a VB situation I guess something similar would be seeing empty-ish body slides with 5 minute wait times and not being allowed on because you have a 180 time elsewhere. Honestly, I really hope they work it out as they get more data and can adjust but I really hope it doesn't result in reducing numbers and affecting guests from waiting. People moaned enough that Jimmy Fallon would run out, I can only imagine being told 4-5 hours into your water park day that half the slides are now off limits.

Aqua Trax's are a myth, there's only one less mythical Trax out there in the real world. -

Are some of those lockers new-ish? Granted my only visit was when Windseeker was brand new but I only clearly remember having to grab a locker for TTD, not sure about MF, most of the rides we got on the 2 days I was there were literally at cut-off time, both times we planned on ending the day with Maverick and when we realized using that single rider line on Maverick to cut 5-10 minutes might gives us the time to make it over and we sprinted so much I don't remember grabbing one (although maybe we were lucky with the people but both nights they let us in and plenty after even 5-10 mins after cut-off). I had my camera bag and remember taking pictures in line for Mantis and Magnum though. -

I'm more forgiving than most for this park, because I seriously loved riding Dodonpa, but I still remember getting the harness released and then all rechecked when the op noticed something was in my pocket (a very tiny lump) and it turned out to be a piece of used tissue from my cold that i'd forgotten was even there. -

Some great 4K video of the night entertainment. 12 minute medley of musical numbers for the summer fireworks show. Out of all the ones they rotate, this one is probably my favorite and I'm always amazed how close you can sit (you can see how close the people areat the start): [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] And though this parade is all year around, this video shows off what I talked about in my last TR. I really like that the parade has a finale when the first float hits the end of the route, with the other floats spread further down the path so a lot more people can see it (Around the 9:20 mark) [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] -

Interesting, first Shanghai and now Paris. Although like I said in the Shanghai thread this has made me more interested in going especially the unlimited pass. My holiday always has to be during the very busy July/August months and having this option is making me considering adding a Eurostar add-on trip for 2 days (one in each park/hopping) when we take my son over to see his grandparents. Would never have considered doing it before with the crowds trying to cram it in then. Although If Tokyo gets a version and being only 2 hours by plane I might never fly anywhere else again. -

It's kind of buried at the bottom but Space Tours which has been hosting Rio 4D for the last couple of years is changing to Happy Family 4D which apparently is a movie coming out later this year according to IMDB.: http://www.everland.com/pick/kids/kids_week.html As I posted above the closed charactorium recently opened a disaster experience center on the second floor. The first floor will now be a kids village with more interactive opportunities. -
I do think a cycle can make a big difference for rides like these. Everland's moves pretty slow and I find it quite dull whereas I loved The Beast at Fantasy Island. I bet travelling ones have an insane cycle. I've heard the same for the star shape rides as well, the one at Blackpool was fun but not that intense but I've heard good things about some on the European travelling circuit.
