  1. For anyone interested here is the English page of the guidelines.
  2. USS also had to shut down completely once numbers started to spike more in the area. A better example would be Everland which didn't shut at all when Korea had a drastic increase but required all guests to wear masks, consent to a temperature check and be turned away if you have a fever, indoor rides closed and strongly recommended spaces between people.
  3. The last Universal standing has now closed. In terms of most attended parks, I think Everland and Lotte World are now the biggest ones to have not closed from this crisis.
  4. I'm hearing they might also give season pass holders an extra 30 days due to corona despite the fact the park never closed as well. Also enjoy this POV of T Express the park put out: [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew]
  5. Everland have canceled their parades and shows to stop gatherings due to corona they're also reducing their hours.... by one whole hour! Sun-Thurs 10:00-8:00 Fri/Sat 10:00-9:00 Lol, I think nothing will make some of the bigger Korean parks ever close.
  6. ^ The meeting was about setting a deadline for a decision on the Olympics. They've given 4 weeks.
  7. I mean Korea was at one point the second most infected country after China, and the biggest parks here never closed. And the numbers spiked and went down without the parks ever closing. I worry we may have a second outbreak since we've been hitting double digits and the curve is down, but that's because people have become too relaxed and have been complacent, crowding the cafes and restaurants, and I see less and less people without masks outside compared to 3 weeks ago. I think the danger here will be that if it outbreaks in the parks, not them being open themselves. Which by the looks of all those rules and restrictions Japan have, unlike Korea they are well aware things are better but not out of the woods. Our cinemas have just started cutting off every other row, and the numbers entered triple digits again so I'm hoping people will take more precautions again. It will be over-confidence and people being careless that the threat is gone that will cause parks to be closed again.
  8. And laid off 95% of their employees. My school laid me off. They see the school closure just keep getting extended and it’s easier to close down and restart elsewhere than having to keep paying workers. Even if reopened they want to reduce hours and pay to make back their money and it wouldn’t be worth it because it would affect my severance badly. Don’t feel too bad for me. I am a hope for the best prepare for the worst type so I have unemployment insurance and there are other schools hiring. I’m just being picky for a bit to make sure I end up somewhere I enjoy instead of taking the first one out of desperation. And Korea has a nice law that you get a months pay for every year (based on an average of your last 3 months pay hence why I don’t want to stay when they reopen on much reduced pay) you work as severance and I have worked many years with them so at least I can see my family through the worst of this outbreak relatively comfortably so I still consider myself luckier than most.
  9. ^I was mostly joking about it being Fuji operations and giving them the benefit of the doubt it's shortages due to Corona but I also think what you say is true/even worse. Considering Eejenaika is 9-11 and 3:30-5:00 and Do-dodonpa and Takabisha fits perfectly in between that with 11:30- 3, I wouldn't be surprised if they are sharing a work crew so lines will be shut to fit around that schedule and give them time to close one ride/get over and open the others. I remember Eejenaka had a bigger crew due to having a left and right side loading, I wouldn't be surprised if once it closes the workers are split to the other two big coasters. A lot of those times seem to indicate pairing that way. That's pure speculation on my part, just the timings work for a lot of those rides.
  10. Fuji is actually open despite all the other parks being closed. I can't work out if these running times for the rides when park hours are 9-5 are somehow corona related or just typical Fuji. And yes I'm back to being bored at home. After 2 days back at work, the school semester got delayed again and there was a case 500m from my house and the guy decided to ride the public bus home after his test, and he had no contact with known cases (although they're still trying to trace where he's been) so there's pandemonium in my town (in terms of moms sending the little kids back to the school I'm at) so it could be a very long haul. Korea had got the numbers down but I'm worried we are in for a second outbreak if these little cases keep popping up even in little towns like ours that can't be traced.
  11. It was pretty bad in Korea. The wedding halls that people use here wouldn't allow cancellations with refunds or postponements because of course no-one else will take those slots so people's weddings had to go ahead. I got married in a church but I've been to plenty to know how the halls work. In Korean culture, at the wedding halls here, you don't give gifts you normally give money in envelopes when you attend, usually around $50 and they give you the meal ticket to the buffet areas. Meals costs for the buffet are about $30 a person and when you book the wedding hall you have to give a number of people coming and there's a minimum. So you say 100 people as a minimum $3000 is charged to the bride/groom. If 90 people come you still charged that and if more than that come they just add it so if 110 people come you pay $3300. This is even though the buffet area is shared between multiple weddings that are going on in the halls and it’s one of the things you pay for after the wedding once numbers have been counted. If everyone shows up or you're a bit under it's offset by the gift money. But people who had already paid and couldn't get a refund had to have their weddings anyway. So not only do you have an awkward day of most of your guests missing and wearing masks but ending up out another $1000 or 2 on the food they normally would pay for with the gift money. I know back home it’s already been paid for but here it meant couples were out of pocket on their wedding day for something that is normally covered by guests.
  12. The Dubai parks have also closed down. Despite being the second outbreak, Everland and Lotte World in South Korea never closed down and are still open. Universal Singapore is also still operating. Looking back at the old TEA for an idea of big parks, Come Monday, will they now be the biggest parks that are still operating?
  13. ^ I could be wrong but I think it will be the one after the next one since the one that comes out next is for 19-20

  15. Nagashima has extended their closure until March 19: https://www.nagashima-onsen.co.jp/resort/info/2019-ncov.html
  16. Lotte World used to have one too that didn't flip. I always found it wasn't exciting when we rode it. In terms of something similar I always found the Mondial supernovas more fun.
  17. ^^ I'm also on my 3rd week unpaid due to the virus. End up spending a lot of time just randomly reading articles and just came across this: Source Leave it to Tom Hank's to put out a calm rational message instead of a 'sky is falling, send the media to cover my near-death experience.'
  18. For those asking about why parks aren't counted as large gatherings here's a piece form an article on Disney Paris.
  19. 2 work colleagues of the first case have also been confirmed cases. Apparently a union is pushing for the park to close. Source
  20. Universal have extended their closure by a week. Source
  21. I didn’t see an announcement on the official English site to quote but bbc is reporting this and here is the olc announcement in Japanese http://www.olc.co.jp/ja/news/news_olc/20200311_1/main/0/link/20200311.pdf Edit: The site has now updated with the news and confirmation that Beauty and the Beast's opening will be delayed as well. I've also quoted the part that includes closures: Source
  22. FYI. This is what the park will look like on a day when they expect fewer crowds/have less staff. To be fair to the park, with corona still playing a part at least they are still open and a grey gloomy day with rain predicted they may have just been cutting costs, and some of the rides like the train and safari bus are down for rehab and the playground and indoor ball house closed I'm assuming due to corona. Today was pretty wet but the rain had stopped by midday. T Express was on rain standby and supposed to run but they decided to close it for the day around 11.30 A.M. Like I said in all my TR's go on the weekends. Weekdays will have more closures or rides in each area running split shifts e.g. one ride is 10-2 and another in the area 3-7. And a lot of rides will be 'prep' meaning they don't open until 1 PM. I've hit huge 30-60 minute lines on weekdays due to less staff and more rides closed pushing the people to the open rides that I've ridden in 10-30 minutes on weekends. You can get lucky and get a really dead day but your going to have to plan your day a lot more around ride times.
  23. ^ Thanks, I have some older elementary students who would love to know a Naruto shooting ride exists when my school re-opens.
