Everland Discussion Thread
Garet replied to dr.gumbo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One week after reopening the water park has closed again due to tougher requirements the government has laid down in the fight against corona. There's no reopening date yet, and although the indoor area runs all year, with the gold season over and some parts of the outdoor area already finished for the season, there's a chance they could just finish the outdoor area for the year. -

The water park has reopened after being closed 5 days for disinfection. Edit: I'm hearing T Express may also no longer be reservation only, with the current outbreak the park is completely dead on all rides, so it may have been deemed not necessary. -
We Went To Universal Orlando!
Garet replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No, sorry. As it says in the video, all the onride footage was provided by Universal. They don't allow anyone to shoot footage on their rides at all. Thank you for getting a POV from Universal. I can see what the ride looks like without getting a headache. -

Of course not, as far as I'm aware Everland does have naked mole-rats in the Lost Valley queue. Not sure if they're still there, since our son was born we tend to use our Lenny points in the lottery for queue pass for that ride since it's usually the busiest ride in the park. It's normally quietest at lunch when everyone's eating and we've tried explaining it to our son but he's 4.... so he's right and we're wrong and lunchtime is obviously for lunch we have to go eat at the busiest time. He's pretty grumpy right now, we had planned to go to the park last weekend with virus cases dropping but then the churches in the area turned into hotbeds and as a teacher, I can't risk my job being in the hot spots (we have a lot of check-ups by the ministry of education to prove we are doing our best to keep the kids safe). He doesn't quite understand what's happening and if we tell people near Everland are sick he tells us he'll go blow on it and make it better... There's been nothing on their social media yet for a name. I had hoped to go see the baby panda when it goes on display but see above, not sure when I can go without parent's freaking out. In other news, Caribbean Bay was supposedly only going to be closed a few days after the coronavirus case but they've removed the calendar from the site entirely. No official notice on when or if it will reopen again this season. -

Let's try and lighten the thread up a bit. Everland's baby panda is now looking more panda and less naked mole rat. Source -

For those curious, korea is now into its 3rd and potentially worst outbreak due to a right wing anti government pastor. His church had almost 100 cases And they were required to self isolate. Instead he convinced them that it was a hoax to try and shut down the church and led thousands in protests in the centre of Seoul. He tested positive and there are already hundreds of cases linked back to the church and a lot of the members deliberately gave false information or harassed tracers letting it spread. One heavily affected church was yongin where everland is located and another couple in Seoul which is why you’ve seen posts in this thread and lotte worlds. Just shows it just takes 1 person to undo a whole countries 5 months of work. -

I'm having the worst luck getting these Gyeongju and Everland updates into the index lol, it's the second time I've lost them to hackers. -

With domestic numbers low last week, and a 3 day weekend Everland had planned to reintroduce its fireworks show from today. However, the numbers exploded yesterday and today so Everland has now announced that not only have the fireworks been cancelled but T Express will go back to being a 100% reservation only ride like how they used to run it during peak season years ago. -
I don't normally jump on internet favorite games, which come and go fast e.g. untitled goose but as a fan of Takeshi's Castle as a child, I have been playing Fall Guys. I am awful at it though, I can't see myself getting platinum with this game with the win 5 games in a row trophy.

Did I miss something? People on Twitter seem to be celebrating F&F being closed as a permanent thing. I get that the majority who have ridden it think it's garbage but it seems a big leap to think it's going away. Unless they're celebrating the temporary closure which also seems weird to me, I'd have thought you'd want the rides you think are garbage to be open to draw crowds away from the lines of the rides you do want to ride.

^Maybe July 28-29? Was planning on heading out to a small park before heavy rain and floods derailed our plans. -

Am I the only one getting no parks showing up in the park index except 1001 Fairyland? -
Mulan will debut on Disney+ in September instead of a cinema release. However, it will be $29.99 on top of your subscription to watch it as a 'one-time event'. For a big family that's cheaper than going to the cinema but I have to wonder if this is successful if other streamers might follow suit in the future having add-on premieres on top of their subscriptions.

I realize Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source but is this true? Seems weird with all the swinging pendulum models out there on the market, that the park brought one of the few that has a counterweight to do the full 360 and not run it that way. -

^They were originally going to Tayto Park, Ireland until the project had to be redesigned because of neighbor's complaints about the noise levels they would bring. -

Hong Kong is getting in on the buy and pose that works so well for Tokyo Disney and are now importing nuiMOs and their outfits from Japan for people to pose in the park. Source -

When did the racing become a rarity? Granted my visit was Windseeker's opening year but it was always racing on our visit.
