New TPR Header Logo

You've warmed me up to it. I like option 4. With it larger and cleaner, it now makes sense to me. Well done. -
New TPR Header Logo...

I don't like it as much. I feel like the old one was like a good "call to action". Made me feel like: Join Now! FUN! This new one, while interesting, doesn't seem to catch me as much. It's a nice change though, just a bit wordy. -
Honestly, I think the fact that they're far enough away from top rate theme parks, and they have the only decent line up of coasters in the state plus their second rate management all equate to the fact that they really are able to be lazy with their operations. They really don't need it. Think about it, It's about $20 cheaper to go to Busch than their top two competitors up the interstate, and the city of Tampa vs. Orlando are two totally different worlds. It's not like they really have to be top notch. Though, I think if they did clean their act up, even 50%, they'd really give the big boys a run for their money. They need to stop employing the USF folk, and start improving their intern program like BGW does, and really get some good and qualified people in the mix. They have such a fantastic park that is unique, they just seem to let it slide as it's really not necessary for them. Now Sea World on the other hand, I they have no excuse.

Biggest Disappointment of 2010?
televisedconfession replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My biggest disappointment was Shoot the Rapids. I'm a huge log flume fan, and I even love the Tidal Wave boats, but this was a 7 minute ride where the second drop and finale of the ride was shorter than the first drop. The layout didn't make sense, and just seemed to suck up land that could go for other rides/attractions. There was so little theme to keep you interested in the ride, and instead we just sat there baking in the sun. I dunno, it just seemed like a waste of money. I could see a similar layout with a whole bunch of logs and a little more theme be so much better. Plus, I really hate the Intamin boats. The only other biggest disappointment of 2010 was not being able to go on a TPR trip. I was all scheduled to go on Mid America, but backed out for pointless reasons that I look back and regret now. Oh well. -
I 100% agree. The way I explain my coaster obsession to my friends, is I view different coasters as functional pieces of art work (often in context of course). I know it sounds weird, but there's more to coasters than just the ride. The way it looks has a lot to do with how good a ride is in my book, and so far, this tower element looks perfect for Busch Gardens and it adds a lot to what I think this ride will turn out to be.

^I'm in no way saying this park is going to prevail, but you also have to understand that the GP love Vekomas, in particular SLC's. Most of us coaster geeks can't stand to think about going on them, except for the credit, but 'normal' people think they're just the bee's knees. Their whole concept is to bring those coaster from across the country (and world), that do very well and bring them to the Orlando area. So in many respects, that is the quality behind it all. Vekoma coasters are economical and popular, I hate to say it. Again, I don't think this is going to fly, but their concept will make most GP cream.

The coasters that come to mind: Gwazi, Mean Streak, Beast, but what really should get it is Ghostrider. I really think Ghostrider would blow minds with this. Personally, I would love Gwazi to get it too... but just because it's my home park, and I still have hopes for it. I agree with the Beast argument too. I'm very excited to see where this technology goes. I think Europe will jump on this quickly.

I don't know what people expect. Do you think that by complaining enough, Busch Gardens is going to spend even more money on top of the millions they already spent advertising this ride, and then suddenly rename it? What's the use? Can we please get back to the discussion on the ride itself? Please? I've really enjoyed reading this thread up until now. It's a moot point.

In reply to all the animation discussion, I completely agree, but at the same time I love the way parks have been building up their viral campaigns. I think Busch has been doing a fantastic job with this coaster. I've really been invested in what is coming out. At the same time, I really liked how tight lipped Universal was with Harry Potter, up until the end. It's a lot like my favorite bands now-a-days. There are some CD's that I just can't wait for and will download a pirated copy, but then there are some where it's totally better to wait.

Sup Title Fairy, So, natatomic (Natalie) is actually getting Married, thus I have lost all gay boyfriend responsibilities. I was wondering if you'd be so kind as to change my title to "Counselor Neil". Thanks bunches.
