Obama or McCain or Beemerboy?
SonOfBeastSucks replied to dragsterfan420's topic in Random, Random, Random
^ But they wouldn't be. Democrats (typically) support stricter gun control laws, but also are against capital punishment. Most of the offenders likely wouldn't be caught anyway. I agree with liberals on a large number of issues, but certainly not that. -

Stricter gun control laws? I think that is an awful idea. That would have little to no impact on crime levels. Guns would still be produced, illegally, and sold on the black market. The majority of people who would buy these guns would be dangerous criminals, all the while law-abiding people wouldn't have guns. That would just leave the law-abiding people without defense while dangerous criminals gained more power. Just my opinion. -

McCain was winning a lot more states. If Huckabee hadn't been in the race, he probably would have had a chance. Romney likely would have won most of the Southern states that Huckabee carried. I personally liked Huckabee's personality the best, but his policies of mixing church and state didn't fly with me. On the Republican side, I was wanting Rudy to take it...but his unusual methods prevented him from that. -

My biggest concern is energy, and I like Paris Hilton's plan the best. Shame. I will consider a vote for Obama if Evan Bayh is on the ticket, since he really would be the best choice for vice president anyway. Geographically, he is a smart choice, and also he is boring/vanilla...something that Obama needs if he wants to win. An Obama/Hilary ticket, no matter how fond Hillary supports are of it, would be tough for many avaerage Americans to actually cast a vote for, no matter what they say in conversation. I really wanted Edwards to be on the ticket, but he says he isn't interested...and he wouldn't have a chance of it now anyway after what he admitted. -
My cell phone died last night and my car charger for it doesn't work anymore, so I was almost desperate enough to go buy one at Wally World. I pulled up. but then decided it couldn't possibly be worth it to deal with everything. I went into Walgreen's, but they didn't have chargers for my type of phone. I had to wait until the morning to go to Target, but it was so worth the wait. If they were open 24 hours, the world would be perfect. I <3 Target.

I bought it for $3.66 on Wednesday, but it went up to $3.89 today. -
Pineapple Express Some of it was good. Some of it wasn't. I don't smoke weed so I guess thats why I didn't find all of it funny.

I think it looks great. I am glad CF is taking an interest in the park, I love how the ride goes over the pathway but also goes back into the woods, and I am truly excited for this. -
I need a new job.

I need space in conversations with people that I don't know. I have no problem with close conversations, hugging, and laying around with my friends though. But yeah, I would be a little creeped out if a guy that I had never met got all on me...especially if he was ugly, lol. I maybe wouldn't mind if he wasn't.

I'm going to watch the employee screening on Wednesday.

Anyone live in or near Indianapolis?
SonOfBeastSucks replied to ILoveRitalin's topic in Random, Random, Random
Nothing in Indianapolis is ghetto compared to Oakland. However, the west side (west of downtown, but east of Plainfeild, Avon, etc.) is horrible. Avoid Laffyette Square Mall at all costs. Some people will say Irvington is ghetto and should be avoided, but a lot of it is a very rich area, with lots of big, old, historic houses. Downtown is fine. The area east of Irvington varries...21st street and below on the east side isn't nice, but still safe. Most streets north of 21st, but below 56th, is ghetto. Everything on Pendleton Pike (just north of 56th) is fine east of Mithoeffer, but everything west of it is just a lot of ghetto strip clubs, dive bars, etc. Virtually everything east of German Church road is small-town, safe atmosphere. Yeah, its confusing. But Indianapolis doesn't really have ghetto sprawls, just ghetto...pockets. There are no ghetto areas at all in the location you decided on. -

If you can handle heavy rain, thunder, and lightning, then you can handle a tornado. If you can't handle heavy rain, thunder, or lightning, then you shouldn't come anywhere near Indiana. -

The weather isn't up and down only in winter, it is like that the entire year. As long as you don't live in a rural area, the city usually is good about snow removal, but it will definitely be a big change moving from California. Most of the time in winter, there isn't much snow. Despite that, the weather is usually very gloomy, which gets to me sometimes. It has rained a lot this year. Some days are sunny, but that doesn't mean that there won't be a major storm later in the day. Don't let your views on sports affect your decision. You can easily live a life here that isn't involved with sports in any way, except for the newspaper...and your taxes going towards building football stadiums. The front page of the Indianapolis Star much of the time is reserved for sports stories. We will be hosting the Super Bowl in '11 and because of that the downtown area is having a lot of things added and work done to it. I'm not much of a fan of the south side (Greenwood, Southport, etc) but it would be a decent choice for less traffic than the north side. Greg Ballard, the mayor of Indianapolis, is a nut case, but that won't affect you too much. Without a doubt, you should definitely spend a couple weeks here to see how you like the city and the varried weather before you make any major decisions. -
^ I saw the TDTESS trailer and I liked it. But then again I hated Hancock and enjoyed The Happening, so I wouldn't agree with me either.
-
The schedule hasn't been posted yet, but I'm sure I'll be working. Holllllla!
-
Hancock- Awful. It trys to be many different things but suceeds at nothing. It starts off slow but then quickly grows stupid, making it seem a lot longer than 90 minutes. All of the stuff I liked about the movie put together adds up to maybe 15 minutes, if that.

Kung Fu Panda looks totally kickass.
-
Sex and the City - Never watched a second of the series, but the opening credits is devoted to explaining the characters and I liked the movie... The Strangers - I watched it sitting with a bunch of girls who I work with and they all screamed and grabbed my hand every time a mask appeared in the distance. Looking back, it wasn't all that good, but it was fun to watch. I can't wait for Kung Fu Panda tomorrow!

I don't really like the idea of eating animals, and I've messed around with the idea of ridding myself of of eating them. I haven't eaten KFC in years due to the treatment of its chickens. I also only drink soy milk now...the only actual milk I ever have is in stuff that it is baked into...I don't go through the effort of avoiding that stuff just yet. Within the next couple days I am going to try fake eggs and eventually attempt to completely rid myself of meat and food items with animal products in them. Its a slow process.
