Flashback at SFMM
SonOfBeastSucks replied to Ketchup's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think a good alternative to not giving up a tie of having most coasters in a park would to be to replace it with something cheap, such as a wild mouse or mayby even a used shuttle loop or something. -
When did you become an enthusiast?
SonOfBeastSucks replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I always liked coasters/ parks before I knew anything about them but in the year 2000 I went to the HW website a few days before I went to the park. A link from the website had a coaster website (I forget whats its called, but I would remember if I saw it) and I became interested looking at lots of official park websites and soon after I learned all about coasters and became an enthusiast. -
Indiana wife wants a pay-check

This among other things gives Indiana a bad name. I can't wait to get out of Indiana! -
I got back earlier today from an eleven day trip to CA, including a day at SFMM. I was actulay slightly dissapointed with the park. Well, here is how the day went.. We went the day we checked out of a hotel so we didn't get there until about 11:30. We walked to the front gate (in a horrible location, IMO), to find a huge line to buy tickets. I had purchased discount tickets off the internet and I just had to pick them up at the "Guest Services" window. Not knowing where this was, I got in the regular line thinking it would be the same. Welll a long line and 30 minuites later (mayby more), I get to the front window and am told that I had stood in the line for nothing and was told how to get to Guest Services. So, I find a short line at Guest Services and get into the park. Allright, I don't even care about that issue anymore. It was a very hot day (95 in the morning, even hotter later) and I got in line for Goliath. It was a 30 minuite wait and actualy a nice line. Decent landscaping and the misters were nice. I rode in the second to last row. The ride was only slightly dissapointing. It was fun, but too short. The airtime was good on the third hill, but not anywhere else. Also, the MCBR was STRONG. The helix and turns and stuff were fun and forceful, but I prefer hills and airtime. I actualy prefer the smaller RB at SFGAm. After that, we rode Collosous. It was decent for what it was and some parts were smooth compared to other woods. It was fun to tide a ride that the Griswalds have ridden . Only one side was running. Then because Scream! was right there we rode that. This was my second florrless (first was BKF at formaly SFWOA) and was the better one. Parking lot ignored, it was the best ride at the park that I rode IMO. After that, we watched 'Hot Ice' to get out of the heat for awhile if nothing else. The show was dumb and the host got on my nerves. Oh well. After that we rode Scream! two more times in a row because the line was very short. One of the times I rode in the middle and my foot hot the middle part. I was scared my foot had hit the track for a second. We then went inside Gotham City and rode BTR (my second one of the week). The line was a bit long, but while I was standing there I noticed RR was stuck at the top of the hill. I can't imagine how hot it was up there. This BTR was better than the one at SFGAm bcause it wasn't rough like BTR SFGAm is. After this we found two quick flat rides in Grinder Gearworks and the Tilt-A-Whirl (Circus Wheel). GG needed a little more padding but Circus Wheel was fun. We then walked to Mooseburger Lodge at the front of the park for food. I stupidly ordered the buffet before seeing if anything I liked was on it. Nothing really was but I had some dry noddles and mashed potatoes that I mixed together which was actualy pretty decent (don't take my advice on food). We then walked up what felt like a mountain to S:TE. Both sides were running but not racing. We rode the left side. (The right side had a line, but the left side was only a station wait). The ride was actualy pretty fun. The launch wasn't strong by any means but I still liked it even after riding TTD. We then rode RR. This was the longest wait of the day at 30- 40 minuites. It was a fun ride, better than Chang and Mantis, but I think it would be a lot more fun as a sitdown like Kumba at BGT. We rode the Circus Wheel one last time and left. I would of ridden X and everything else but I didn't have enough time. X had a 2 1/2 hour wait and I just didn't have time for anything else. It was overall a fine day bsides the morning drama and not having much time. You can see the rest of my trip in the "Random" section whenever I get a chance to type it up and post it. Also, thanks again to everyone who helped me in my old forum "SFMM, KBF, Help".

SFMM, KBF, Help
SonOfBeastSucks replied to SonOfBeastSucks's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well thank you, everyone, for all of your help. I am leaving tomorrow morning and spending two weeks in CA. I am most likely going to SFMM but nothing is final yet. Does anyone have any final advice? My plane leaves in eleven hours. Thanks again! -
My name is Dennis, I am 15, I live in Indianapolis, love traveling, skatebaording and coasters, and am obsessed with Starbucks.

If you had to move to a foreign country, which one would you move to? Because I can't speak any languages but English, I would most likely move to Canada, England or Australia. But otherwise, I'd choose Italy, Switzerland or any stable beach vacation resort country with a Strabucks.

Does SFMM have a fast pass system like other SF parks? -
It wasn't the best trip because I went with five people, two of which hate roller coasters. We arrived at the park LATE (little after noon) and the eight year old with me wanted to ride Whizzer so we all stood in the forty-five minuite line for the decent for what it is but otherwise boring ride. She liked it though so I GUESS that made it a little better. We then walked to Raging Bull and only my friend and I wanted to ride so the rest found a bench and sat there. The line was about half an hour (mayby less). The ride was decent as I remember it, but as far as hypers go, I prefer Magnum. The eight year old and her mom headed to the water park after that. After that, we walked over to S:UF. This was my first time riding it. I liked it quite a bit, but it was pretty short. The pretzel loop and barrel roll were the best parts of the ride. We then rode BTR (used fast passes on it). This was my first BTR in two years and I liked it a lot better than the last time I rode it, nice and forceful. My head did bang a few times though. We then walked across the path and rode V2. I wish it were taller and the begining launch faster. After this, everyone else in my party headed to the water park, so I was on my own. I rode Viper. The crew was fun and awesome, the best of the day. The ride was a little dissapointing though. I left my lapbar up very high but hardly got any airtime. I walked to the back of the park after that and rode Revolution. It was a fun ride but doesn't have anything on Delerium. I then rode American Eagle, which was racing. It was fun I guess but it was a little rough. After that, I walked to Deja'Vu. This was my first time riding a Vu. It was pretty good, I think I actualy prefer Face/Off though. Neither are very good. I then used a fastpass on Raging Bull and met my group. We rode Richochet, Hometown Fun Machine, Trailblazer and the pirate ship. All were nice way to get a breeze I guess. The eight year old wanted to play games after this. We played Whack-A-Mole. I won and received a stuffed animal Dalmation. It was 7:00 then and everyone wanted to leave. Overall, it was an okay day but I'm certainly looking foward to So Cal next week though.

New Coaster at SFOT
SonOfBeastSucks replied to coasterlover420's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I certainly agree with you there. SFSTL doesn't have near enough. Batman is fine but you can ride it everywhere else, Boss, Eagle and Freeze are also decent but the park doesn't have anything that is wonderful. SFFT also needs more. -
I saw the stage version of The Lion King in Chicago the other day (it was my first play) and I loved it. If you ever have a chance to see it on stage and happen to have $100 for a (decent) ticket, GO!

What is your local park?
SonOfBeastSucks replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I live in Indianapolis so I live close to a lot of parks but all are at least 90 minuites away. SFKK and IB are actualy closer but I never go to either so I consider PKI my homepark. -

SFMM, KBF, Help
SonOfBeastSucks replied to SonOfBeastSucks's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know what types of coasters each one has, but I also care about other stuff in the park. I am leaning more towards SFMM right now. Crowds are also a concern. Is SB at KBF any good? -
PKI Ride Removal?
SonOfBeastSucks replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Son of Beast certainly gets my vote but I think an actualy safe bet is Vortex. It takes up a good amount of space AND it could even dip back into the woods behind it, like the Beast does. Top Gun should stay in my opinion. -
I am going to either SFMM or KBF in less than a week and I only have time for one so PLEASE tell me which one to go to and suggestions for that particular park. Thanks.
