  1. 9 out of the top 20 coasters on the planet are Intamin. That's really awesome!
  2. Boomers doesn't have all those rides. There is also footage from Uncle Bernie's and a Fair in the video. Exactly. The video is titled "Christmas in Miami" not "Christmas at Boomers." There are the park signs for Boomers, Uncle Bernie's, and the Satan's Enchanted Village fair. --Robb
  3. Just a quick note to everyone - it really doesn't help us plan the event if you post that you CAN'T make it, but it DOES help if you post that you CAN! So please, try to avoid "Can't make the event" emails because that's not what this thread is for. Thank you for your understanding. --Robb
  4. So it seems like today's Facebook annoyance is tagging people in Christmas trees! I've had to remove about 6 of these already. People are taking a picture of a Christmas tree and tagging their friends on the bulbs or other ornaments on the tree. I appreciate the idea and it's nice that you thought about me, but please, if you want to just send an email saying "Merry Christmas" or something that's fine, but don't clutter up my wall with photo tags of pictures I'm not in and then I have to later remove. ANNOYING!!!!
  5. Do you think it might be possible to re-post what you said in English instead of some kind of alien language? Oh, and perhaps you should read this thread before you go getting banned on Christmas Eve: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=224#224
  6. That was a very "interesting" trip report!
  7. Merry Christmas Eve everyone! Be sure to log in tomorrow to get your TPR Christmas Present! [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=miami_xmas_3ko8[/coastertube]
  8. ^ Elissa absolutely loved the surfing class. I wasn't so coordinated with it, but even still I had fun. If they are doing it again you should do it! Just to be able to have had the experience. It was a good time. ---Robb
  9. I have actually found that the Sony digital still cameras do not blow me away. I use them mainly so I only need to carry one type of memory card, but I feel their video product is far superior to their still cameras. --Robb
  10. Just out of curiosity, what don't you like about Sony? Every TPR video has been filmed with a Sony product or a product containing Sony chips (our SD lipstick cameras were all custom built with Sony CCD chips) If there is anything I can say positive about Sony cameras, just watch anything on TPR or our DVDs...the proof is in the pudding. I have used just about every video camera manufacturer known to man and I have yet to find a camera out there that offers as much "bang for the buck" then Sony. Panisonic, JVC, Cannon - all crap. I've litterally watched a JVC camera fall apart, Cannons don't seem to like roller coaster G-Forces, and Panisonic, I dunno, they just feel so "cheap" to me. And I'm not a wacked out Sony fanboy or anything as I have had products from them that were crap and I've returned or sold. I can tell you that I have put no less than 20 different Sony cameras to the test doing everything imaginable with them on roller coasters, flat rides, and water rides, and they have all pretty much stood the test. Anyway, that's my pitch. --Robb
  11. Nope! That was the only TPR video it's been used in. --Robb
  12. Holy Crap! Is that a Proslide Tantrum? Is that the first one to be built in the US? Looks amazing!
  13. First off, who's Rob? Secondly, she wouldn't eat it! Seriously, she doesn't really like sauce. She orders her pasta plain and her pizza without sauce. The only pasta or pizza sauce she'll eat is the one she makes for herself at home. It's just what she likes to eat and I respect that. Why would I want to force her to eat something she doesn't like? She's not 8 years old and I'm not her mother. However I can blame then for not getting her to like normal food! --Robb "With Two B's" Alvey
  14. Here you go...research this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=598098&Q=&is=REG&A=details I haven't found a better handheld, fully HD, handheld camera on the market. --Robb
  15. Well, keep in mind the last attempt at the banner fell down! So I think it's not just as simple as tacking up a piece of cloth to the side of the ride. It actually is a pretty intricate piece of theming that needed to be "installed" and given the results of the last attempt, they probably wanted to do it safely and correctly. I'm shocked the ride was only down one day! You're absoultley right! You are no expert...however you speak as though you are. Ironic, huh? If you'd take the time to read some of this thread you'll know that the ride has been plagued with some technical issues since it's opened. We should be happy that the ride actually opened in the first place and stop complaining about it getting some down time that it NEEDS in order for it to be more operational for your future visits. Seriously, you should try opening a ride like this under all the pressures that go along with it. I can tell you from my first hand experience working in an area where a major attraction opened 6 months late (Splash Mountain at Disneyland) that I think most people here would crack under the stress of having to put up with some of the people who complain about the ride having zero idea of what goes into making the damn thing run. And on a final note, we have this thread for a reason - and we have people who work at the park monitor this thread as well. If you need information about the status of the ride, you can either call the park or check with this thread. As a Theme Park Enthusiast myself, I know when a ride may be "problematic" and I try to do everything I can to make sure the ride will be open on the day I'm there, OR have a contingency plan in place to get back to a ride that I know is problematic and may be closed on the day I visit. There should be absolutely NO EXCUSE from anyone who reads this forum on a regular basis that they didn't know that Rip Ride Rockit was having technical issues. We've been discussing it for MONTHS. --Robb "I'd rather the ride get the attention it needs now then having it forever be problematic." Alvey
  16. And to follow up our Walt Disney World Wedding, here is the video that is a compilation of the next few days in Orlando which followed our Wedding. I'm not sure how many other people invited a whole group to their Honeymoon, but I'll tell you, it was a LOT of fun! Just watch... 17. I hate to disappoint you but this twenty FOUR days of videos. They end on Christmas Eve.
  18. It's kind of hard to follow up Tokyo Disneyland so here's another somewhat Disney-related video... Robb & Elissa's Walt Disney World Wedding! I know I'm a bit biased, but I've been to a lot of weddings out there and I still think ours was the best ever! We really tried as much as we could to turn our wedding into an "event" since we had so many people coming in from out of the state and I really feel that if you're asking people to fly out for your wedding you really need to give them something special. For our Wedding we started off with an Illuminations Desert Party at Epcot, the next day was the ceremony at the wedding pavilion followed by a reception at The Boardwalk. For the next few days we had friends and relatives in town who hung out with us at Walt Disney World. We also did a photo shoot at the Magic Kindom before it opened to the public and other "exclusive" things like surfing class and a "Wishes Cruise." It was an amazing time! Maybe we should do something similar for our 10th Anniversary! (coming up in just a couple of years.) [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=wedding_oz3n[/coastertube]
  19. Oh, I didn't realize there was a competition for people who rode coasters in the snow. --Robb "Way to be insulting to the people who spend 24/7 bringing TPR to you!" Alvey
  20. The 'off season' for Japan theme parks in general can be in September/October...HOWEVER the Disney parks can be *packed*, especially during the Halloween festival season. I have heard early June is also lighter. I would look at the resort hotels website and they have prices for peak and non-peak periods. The non-peak periods is when you'll find the lighter crowds, but be warned, even during some of the non-peak times we have gone, we have seen the park both very empty (depending on the weather) and up to 2 hour waits for major attractions. Tokyo Disney is one of the (and sometimes ranked the #1) busiest park in the world. It's not that common that you'll see the park empty. --Robb
  21. Tokyo Disneyland Resort - In my opinion the BEST theme parks and resort in the WORLD! And let Theme Park Review take you there! [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=tokyodisney_1nda[/coastertube]
  22. ^ Not sure if it's gotten totally re-painted, but it does seem to get some love when they use it for seasonal events like Grinchmas or Horror Nights. --Robb
  23. I think it looks great and fits the property. This is a ride that hasn't gotten much love in the past 10 years and now it's going to look brand spankin' new. Quit your bitching. --Robb
