Disneyland Paris advice
robbalvey replied to LingLing13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Last time I was there in the snow the only rides that had closed was the steam boat around the river and the Skull Island play area (lots of slippery ice), but all the coasters ran! I haven't been to DSP when it was snowing. --Robb -
Rooftop Tokyo Halfpipe coaster
robbalvey replied to The Doctor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ It tested and it's operational, but that's it. They never got the permits to run it with people, and from what I'm told it's going to cost a ton of cash to get the permits to dismantle it. So there is a perfectly good Intamin half-pipe that has been sitting dormant for a few years now, and it looks like it will permantently become a hood ornament. There was talk about strining Christmas lights on it one year for Countdown, but not sure if that ever happened. --Robb -

That would be "Bag Tag" as in Bag = Sac like "Male Sac" That was the moment where my hand slipped off the wheel of the spinning dragons and I ended up clocking Guy in the nuts! -

When it comes to parks that every roller coaster enthusiast MUST visit, Cedar Point is usually on the top of most peoples list. Regardless if you love or hate the place, you can't deny that every coaster freak should go there at some time in their life. Here's what happened when we took 100 TPR members there in 2007 - [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=cedarpoint_meu3[/coastertube] -

It's a decent ride and never has any crowd. Which leads me to believe it probably one day won't exist anymore. Take a ride in the front and one in the back and unless you really want to ride more that should take you all of about 10 minutes! --Robb

That was still my favorite and best "character encounter" we ever had! Mr. Smee came over, sat at our table and then made broken conversation with us via napkins. As soon as Joey told him he worked for Universal is was all over! -
Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!

^ Agreed. I never thought I'd ever ride a coaster that was 1/2 the size of Superman or GeForce with the same or maybe even MORE airtime on it! -

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
LOL! Thank you! I've just used this example on my FaceBook. The first person that comes back and says "Well I can fly to Cedar Point and do that on Gemini" I'm going to block from my friends list! And I totally get that people have their own opinions about what they like don't like, what should feel like a woodie and what doesn't, and I always respect that. What I don't respect is: 1. When someone tried to tell me my opinions are wrong because they differ from someone else's and 2. When someone goes out of the way to prove their opinions are correct by purposely making someone or something else look bad. In my opinion, if you're that insecure about what you have to say, maybe you should just crawl back into the vagina you came out of...and stay there. --Robb -
Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm sure this practice carries over from them managing Wild Adventures. We have visited that park on days when it was so empty that they would basically "assign you a ride op." And they would go with you and open and operate whatever ride you wanted to go on. It was very, VERY strange! It never made sense to me why that park was open 365 days a year when it clearly had no visitors mid-week in January for February. I'm actually happy to see that Hershend must have also realized this was a problem and have scaled back their operating schedule to something that looks a lot more practical. --Robb -
^ If you couldn't tell that I was joking, perhaps you should be reading a different site. I'm actually really sick of your obnoxious and rude posts you make here towards myself and other members. You've been around here long enough to know that TPR members just don't treat each other like you treat some of us. Next time you think about hitting the "submit" button on your next post I would STRONGLY read it over and think to yourself "Am I being rude?" "Am I being obnoxious?" "Do I think this post is going to be the final straw that will get me banned?" And this time. I am NOT JOKING! --Robb
