  1. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Closes! Quoted from sixflags.com: Here is the letter than was sent out to season passholders:
  2. ^ We did the Grand Princess which is a sister ship to the Golden. I liked Princess and the ship, but I felt that "sky walk" thing on the back of the ship was probably one of the biggest wastes of money. Out of the four cruise lines I've been on, I'd rank Princess 2nd over RCCL.
  3. Wow! I had no idea the NCL ship had all those different things going on. I'm not really as big of a fan of the "Freestyle Cruising" either, but that ship does look a lot more interesting than the new Carnival ship. While I think that of all the new ships that have come along the Oasis appeals to me the most, but I'd think I'd be willing to give the Epic a try over the Carnival Dream. It is interesting to see how many "theme park" like features these ships are including from things like carousels, zip lines, water park attractions, water coasters, cirque shows to the Blue Man Group. How much longer until one of them gets a coaster? --Robb
  4. I'm not exactly sure what the point of your post is. If you're bashing a TPR trips, trust me, we have been doing this for many years and we know how to plan a trip to a foreign country. We will be doing plenty of sightseeing and other activities to give people a "feel" of Australia. If you're bashing people wanting to travel for theme parks and roller coasters, well, many people on TPR have been traveling like this for many years. I've often said that sometimes you need a reason to travel as for many people just visiting a location on it's own just isn't enough of a draw. There are people out there who just don't give two s**ts about "shopping and sightseeing" (really, I could care less about it) but still want to travel to far away destinations to do something they enjoy. And clearly you must not know very much about this website or our past travel itineraries because we have already offered trips to all over the United States, all over Europe, England, Japan (from northern Japan to the very south), China, S. Korea, Scandinavia, etc. Australia seems like the next logical location to visit. So please, while I understand where you are coming from, please respect that people have different reasons for wanting to travel and they may differ from your own. And at the end of the day, we are promoting travel to foreign countries and supporting that economy. How is that a bad thing? --Robb "Looking forward to bringing TPR members to Australia for the first time!" Alvey
  5. Realistically, you can't do a Japan theme park trip WITHOUT going to Fuji-Q, no matter how much that place sucks. Of all the "roller coaster parks" it is still the biggest. The Tokyo Disney add-on is absoultely due to cost. The way TPR would like to do Tokyo Disney is a full 4-day event staying on property. This adds at least $500 - $800 to the cost of the trip. What we learned about Disney is that some people love it and wouldn't think twice about spending that money, other people aren't into it, and if they could save that money and NOT do Disney they would have a better chance of doing the Japan trip with us. Really you can look at the Japan trip as a "with Disney" or "without Disney" option. We did the same thing for our Europe trip and Disneyland Paris in 2008. We actually had quite a few people who opted not to do Disney because of the additional costs. --Robb
  6. I said LIMs for lack of knowledge of what is used to launch Superman... Excuse me for making a simple mistake. No need to be condesending to one of the site's moderators. How was Joey supposed to know you actually didn't have any clue what you were talking about. He thought you were suggesting they replace the LSMs with LIMs. I thought the same thing. Excuse me for not being a mind reader. --Robb "No need to give anyone attitude for your mistake." Alvey
  7. The TPR store has been updated to reflect the new versions of the DVDs: http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php --Robb
  8. Hey everyone! We are doing our annual TPR Trips Questionnaire a bit early this year since at the moment we are considering a February 2011 TPR Trip to Australia. As with the previous surveys, if you are at all interested and more important SERIOUS about going on a TPR Trip in the future PLEASE FILL OUT THIS QUESTIONNAIRE! It really helps us with our future trip planning! Click the link here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/tprtrips2011.htm And it should be pretty self-explanatory. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here! Thank you to everyone for your input! --Robb
  9. Like cfc already said - 1. No one is "wishing the park bad luck." We all have a lot of experience in the industry (some of us have been working at parks and the in the business most of our lives) and many of us also have "insider information" and we all know that many times that means absoultely nothing. I have seen so many deals on parks & rides fall through at the last minute. Personally, I'd love to see the park open this year, but clearly last year couldn't have been much of a success if the investors already pulled out of the project after less than a year. 2. You really need to watch your attitude (and your spelling) if you want anyone to respect anything you have to say on this forum. --Robb
  10. Um, Elissa. I really don't think you should be passing judgement on anything until it actually opens to the public and you yourself has seen the show. And even after that I'm sure the Disneyland version will still be better. After all it's in the park that WALT WALKED IN! That alone makes it the best version of the show...EVAR! Who are you to make that claim anyway? I mean, all you ever do is just travel the world for theme parks and roller coasters and probably know more about this than I do, but still. I think you're being unfair and you're wrong. PROWLER RULEZ!!!! YEEEEAAHHH!!!!
  11. Oh good. I always thought BraviSEAmo! was kind of "weird." Saw it once and never felt the need to see it again. The fire breathing dragon was cool, but the show was pretty much 20 minutes of that. I'm not the biggest fan of Fantasmic either, but I'd probably make more of an effort to go see that show over the other one. --Robb
  12. Oh man...that literally made me laugh out loud!
  13. Knott's will **NOT** have season pass processing open early. You will have to purchase the full price event ticket and then upgrade your season pass later in the day. --Robb
  14. Good luck with everything Erik! And thanks for an AWESOME contribution to the website. I hope you guys continue the tradition with some of the interesting places in Orlando. --Robb
  15. So is this park really going to open this year???
  16. It's ok. We all know exactly what you mean!
  17. They run both sides of Colossus during Fright Fest - one side forwards, one side backwards. --Robb
  18. ^ If you want to make changes just email me and we can figure that out. You will be able to process your SFMM season pass voucher the morning of West Coast Bash. But it MUST be a voucher from SFMM. Vouchers from other Six Flags parks will not be accepted. --Robb

  20. The parks website seems to be under construction right now, but I would think the best advice would be to simply just call them and ask. --Robb
  21. I really like the blue. I was actually very happy when they started painting the Batman clones at other parks something else besides black and gray.
  22. I recommend you starting your own thread that showcases your great collection instead of hijacking someone else's thread! Looks like cool stuff. People would probably love to see it, but it will most likely get buried in a different thread than if it was on it's own. --Robb
  23. I just want to let everyone know that this weekend we have sold a LOT of West Coast Bash tickets. If you haven't registered yet, I STRONGLY recommend registering sooner than later! Register here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php?categoryID=14 --Robb
