  1. ^ In your user control panel (the link should be on every page under the calendar on the left) Click the "Board Preferences" tab and then click "Edit Posting Defaults." You'll want to check "NO" for Notify me upon replies by default. If you want to unsubscribe from topics click "Overview" tab and then "Manage subscriptions" and you can unsubscribe from all topics you are currently watching. --Robb
  2. ^ I looked for a way to let guests see the "quote" button, but I can't find it. ^^ & ^^^ We don't have an option to auto-force a spell check. Just like on the old forum, you'll have to remember to click the button before you hit "submit." --Robb
  3. When you are looking at the "Who is Online" section at the bottom of the Index page, mouse over the * next to their names and it tells you "EBL * = In The Chat Room". When you are posting, the first thing on the menu bar above the posting box is a button called "Spell Check." Probably just need to do a little more digging around but both of those things are already installed. --Robb
  4. I'm really not sure I'm understanding where the comments about "all the black" is coming from. If you look at the old forum versus the new forum there is some additional black area inbetween the calendar and the posting area on the new forum (which we will address) but the rest of the forum has always had the black, and possibly even MORE black than it does now. Look at the images below...when you look at them back to back you'll see that they look VERY similar. OLD FORUM NEW FORUM
  5. No offense taken, but it's not going to change much. The black space at the top between the calendar and the forums will be looked into, but really, is it THAT big of a deal? --Robb
  6. "craptastic" is a compliment for that coaster!
  7. It will take some getting used to, yeah. We've tried to make the new forum look as close to the old one as possible but since the old forum was being retired by the software company we had to upgrade to their new version. --Robb
  8. Only TWO more days until Coaster Expedition Volume 13 is officially released! To celebrate here is another "never before released on TPR" video from one of our past Coaster Expedition DVDs. "Yomiuriland" from Coaster Expedition Volume 11 - This is one of the parks located in Tokyo! Great little park with a couple of decent steel coasters and one pretty bad woodie! Enjoy the video! 12. In case you didn't get the email, see the forum header above (look up), or read the Facebook notice, the forum will be going down tonight at 11pm PST / 2am EST (Sat morning) to perform the upgrade. --Robb
  13. Have we mentioned that tickets to West Coast Bash are selling fast? You should probably register now: http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php?categoryID=14
  14. Agreed. When was the last time a "firework show" required a massive park re-do and making a section of a park look terrible for more than a year? When Fantastic debuted it was groundbreaking and effects that hadn't been seen many other places. So far "from what I've seen" there is nothing about this new show that isn't something I've seen someplace else before. It might be a great show, I'm not saying that it won't be, I'm just saying that I wish I could get more excited about it. But then again, I'm also the wrong audience. I'm not a "show person." I haven't seen Fantasmic at Disneyland since 1992, I've never bothered to see the one at WDW, I've only seen the Bravaseamo show at Tokyo Disney once (and that was enough) and probably the only show of it's kind that I make any sort of effort to go see (and when I say effort I mean, like if we happen to be at the park and we can find a half-way decent spot in about 30 seconds before the show starts) is Illuminations. Shows just don't interest me unless there is something about it that makes me go WOW!!!! And so far I've seen no "WOW!" from World of Color. --Robb
  15. Test. Not sure why those photos aren't working. The photo upload tool seems to be working just fine... Jarmor, can you re-upload them again?
  16. I like Scream and I think the issue with that ride has less to do about how good it is compared to other rides in the park or even the whole "parking lot" coaster but more about it's location. It's so hard to find to the random visitor that it usually goes totally missed. I can't tell you how many times I've been down in that area of the park and I've heard people say stuff like "What's down here? Wait...OMG, there's another roller coaster down here???" Even in the parking lot, you see it, but you don't really comprehend where it is in the park. From the midways you can EASILY see Tatsu, Goliath, Riddler's, Batman, Viper, etc. And even X2 gets missed because of the bridge but people KNOW it's there and they go find it because of it's reputation. Scream really has no reputation and it just gets lost in the shuffle.
  17. Agreed. Every picture that everyone is going ga-ga over, I feel like "I've seen this before...like a LONG time before..." Maybe it's just that something like this is new to other people but having traveled around the world and seen a crap load of shows in my time this just is like, I dunno, not impressive to me. At least nothing I've seen so far. It feels more like something from Vegas cira 1998 than it does anything revolutionary. --Robb
  18. Here is another "Never before released on TPR" video from our Coaster Expedition Volume 10 DVD! I present to you "Wisconsin Dells" including Mount Olympus, Timber Falls, Riverview Park, the SCAD Tower and more! I honestly couldn't believe I've never posted this segment to CoasterTube or TPR before because it's one of my favorite videos on the DVD! I hope people can appreciate the ending and the torture we gave Bryan that day! [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=wisconsindells_q5po[/coastertube] And don't forget, order your copy of Coaster Expedition 13 here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php?productID=89 Did we mention there is a way to get Coaster Expedition Volume 13 for FREE? Find out how: http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php?productID=90
  19. Oh dear...are you serious? By the park closing it's going to cause all of the employees to become terrible people and go on crime sprees? Go get a job at the mall or at UPS. SFKK closing is not going to lead to some sort of Armageddon of Louisville! This is some kind of bad sci-fi movie in the making! Now all you need is a giant man eating alligator in the wave pool and killer locusts versus theme park crime mob and you've got Sci Fi Cinema Saturday! --Robb
  20. Would anyone like to see another new TPR video?
  21. I'm assuming the following coasters will be "smashed to bits:" - Thunder Run - Both Twisted Sisters/Twins - Shuttle Loop I would think that T2 may also finally meet it's maker, but let's face it, we just saw Six Flags put up a Vekoma SLC at a park that already has a Batman clone so I wouldn't rule it out. --Robb
  22. I would not put money on the shuttle loop being saved. There is already the Astroworld one that has been sitting around for years, and that one actually had quite a bit of refurbishment done to it. IMO, I think you may see the Wild Mouse and the Roller Skater moved to another park, but I'm not sure about much else. I'd even think the SLC has a shot of getting re-located over a 34 year old shuttle loop.

  24. It's very simple. If it travels on the earth, it's covered. If it flies in the air, it's not. Unless we SPECIFICALLY SAY that certain flights are covered.
