  1. Thank you! And thanks for posting your review! --Robb
  2. ^ Now THIS is what should be in the employee break room!
  3. ^ That's actually a very nice hotel too! It's about 5 minutes walking distance to our apartment! --Robb
  4. ^ That should only happen with IE6 and below. Basically phpbb3 does not officially support any IE versions lower than 7. --Robb
  5. ^ The username running into the forum is something we'll have to figure out. The online banner we've decided to keep as is right now since it only affects a small percentage of people at a time. If there's a solution that comes up later of for it, we'll do it, but otherwise it's kind of low on the priority list. As for hiding the calendar, I'm not sure if it's going to be an option on this version of the forum, but we'll keep looking. --Robb
  6. Do people really think the park needs to add something every year? Isn't this kind of what got Six Flags in trouble to begin with? I prefer the Busch mentality of "Let's build something really good and be able to tout that for a few years." Just look at a park like Busch Gardens Tampa. Quality over Quantity! You don't seem them adding a major, or even a minor attraction every year that park seems to do GREAT! --Robb
  7. Time to unstick this. If you haven't seen the full epic update we posted a version of it here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=570&linkid=8275 That way you can see it all the updates in once place! --Robb

  12. ^ That is awesome! Ok, so who was at the park in a TPR shirt today? Fess up! Yes, quite often people will come on their own and quickly meet up with the more than welcoming group who all share the same interest. Most of the people who know and hang out with on a regular basis we met via events or other meet up on the forum. --Robb

  15. No offense, but I think you being 16 and having never worked at a park or the theme park industry I wouldn't expect you to understand why I (and a few others) find the original post and the posters tone rather odd. No one here has ever heard of this guy, I haven't really seen any proof that his credentials are real and he claims to have his words "translated into many languages and posted at rides and break rooms across the country, and across the globe." Well, we actually have quite a few theme park industry members on TPR who work at parks and ride companies all across the globe and no one has ever heard of this guy or ever seen his words posted before. The initial post is "interesting" to say the least and it makes some very good and valid points (although I find it way too preachy for my personal tastes), but I find the rest of his follow-up a bit "odd", that's all. Especially after he is telling everyone "No matter what happens remain calm and be professional" and then goes on to personally attack one of our more regular posters (which we had to delete his post and ultimately got him a 24hour suspension from the forums) for someone simply questioning his background and rightfully so. I've actually now have quite a few people who work at various parks and ride manufacturers send me private messages about this basically saying what Joey said "WTF is this persons deal?" If you're going to make a claim, back it up. If you can't back it up, don't get upset when people question you. --Robb "I'm questioning it's authenticity, that's all." Alvey
  16. Yeah, I'm not buying that number either. Personally this whole thread reeks of someone trying to be "Mr. Know-It-All" but this customer ain't buying the pitch. I'd like to see something, ANYTHING backing up any of his claims or experience before I'm willing to even look at the kool-aid he's trying to convince me to drink. --Robb "Reading this thread makes me feel like I'm at some motivational speaker seminar trying to get me to buy his collection of self-help DVDs." Alvey
  17. We are pretty sure that he actually died during the ride and that was just his lifeless body flopping around uncontrollable. --Robb
  18. They have always viewed forums on the old version but now we are just able to see them with the new forum since they usually all come from a similar IP address and this version of the forum automatically creates an account for them. The search engine bots spider the site so that all of our updates end up on Google, Yahoo, etc.
  19. Actually, this is a great idea for a thread! Try to find the best video of an "attraction" that is not a theme park or water park "ride" (meaning like don't post a video of your favorite roller coaster) that totally looks OMFG!!! WHAT THE HELL!?!??! to share with the rest of us! --Robb
  20. ^ Totally unique layout! If I had to compare it to anything though, it's probably most like Silver Bullet.
  21. Here is one more TPR Video before Coaster Expedition Volume 13 is released! [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=kyungjuworld_9vpq[/coastertube] This time around it's Kyungju World in South Korea feature the fairly new B&M Invert, Phaethon! This strange little park includes some "never in America" rides, which, I'm sure from watching the video you can figure out which ones! Don't forget to Pre-Order your copy of Coaster Expedition Volume 13 Now!!! --Robb
  22. Sure... if you want a hammy-down ride that CUT someone's feet off... go right ahead I'll pass. What? Really? You can't be serious? Really??? So do you not ride Scream! and Magic Mountain because it KILLED someone, or Revolution? Or Colossus? Or Goliath? Do you not go on airplanes either? What about your car? You know that there is a very good chance that more people have been mangled and killed in a car EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE YOU DRIVE RIGHT NOW than there have been deaths and freak accidents on any amusement park ride. Geez, you probably shouldn't ever LEAVE THE HOUSE! --Robb
  23. Europa Park went how many years before getting a coaster with inversions? The first coaster that went upside down at Europa Park was just installed in 2009. --Robb
  24. Details WILL be coming soon I promise! The event is totally happening and we are planning the party bus. I just didn't want to take away from attention to West Coast Bash since that event is coming up sooner. But we should probably have the official flyer and registration within the next week. The event will be awesome! Everyone from So Cal and Nor Cal should plan on attending! --Robb
