  1. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at the Tokyo Disneyland Resort, including Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of these park as well as past updates, see TPR's Tokyo Disneyland Park Index Page and TPR's Tokyo DisneySea Park Index Page. Official Resort Website Below are some links to past updates from the resort, you may be interested in. It looks a lot like the T-shaped DCA version. 2. It's *HUGE* 3. Damn, it's getting built...FAST! In comparison, here is what it looked like about 6 months ago: --Robb "Can't wait for another Japan trip!" Alvey
  2. Since we were having problems with the Paypal store, I've decided to just go with the honor system that's work so well for us with the videos for the T-Shirts too. I never built the site to handle 'sales' and doing a store infrastructure just isn't my cup of tea! So if you want a shirt, go put in your name, address, email address, and the size and one will be sent to you! When you get the shirt, send back the payment envelope with the payment or send it via PayPal. Here is the link once again: http://www.themeparkreview.com/store.htm --Robb "And remember, if you don't pay up we'll send the Donkey to your house to kick you!!!" Alvey
  3. While we really do appreciate the offer to make "TPR Stuff" we need to keep some kind of control on what we make. If we decide at some point to do dog tags or any other 'products' besides our DVDs or T-shirts, you'll be the first person we contact! But remember, the logos, images, and all that other good stuff on the site are our trademark! --Robb
  4. Anyone else think the PS3 looks a lot like the Turbo-Grfx "Turbo Duo?" Playstation 3 Turbo Duo
  5. Episode I and the few clips I've seen of Episode II have soured me so much on the franchise that I have about as much interest in seeing Episode III as I do "Are We There Yet?" I was a pretty huge Star Wars geek (not as much as one of my friends) before EP. I came out, and after that movie, I can't even really go back to the originals anymore. I'm really pissed that they managed to fuck up one of the best movie franchises of all time. --Robb
  6. Holy shit that was a fucking GREAT photo TR!!!!! Keep them coming! --Robb "Misses Dollyweird!" Alvey
  7. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/37061 They had me on "Backwards Compatible" --Robb "Now I'm just waiting to hear about the Nintendo specs!" Alvey The PS3 teaser billboards that are all over Los Angeles for the E3 show this week.
  8. Kids....play nice. It's only roller coasters we're talking about here...not important stuff...like death metal or cowbells. --Robb "Don't make me have to come there and slap you with Elissa's penis...although I'm sure Brian would like that!" Alvey
  9. Wow! Nice TR! I can't wait for our visit. We leave in something like 4 weeks! Can you tell us about what other rides besides the coasters they have there? Are there any 'must do' dark rides or flat rides? --Robb "Balder sounds awesome!" Alvey
  10. It's that time again! 5 new videos have been posted!!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/contest2005/contest2005.htm This time around Nick Collins shows us the 'dark side' of roller coaster riding highlighting all those "rough" coasters! Some really funny moments in this video! Steve and Karen shows us around Orlando, bump into a few things, and drink some Beverly! Lars and Cornelia give as the grand tour of Phantasialand, a park that looks fantastic, but we don't see much of! Great looking stuff at this park! Albert Lam showcases all the holiday attractions at the Happiest Place on Earth in his "Disneyland - Christmas 2004" video. Jarvis takes us on board Carowind's Top gun and shows us how cool this coaster is! So there you have it! We're half way through getting all the videos posted! I hope everyone has a directory on their hard drive with all the entries because you'll have to go back and watch them all one more time before you vote! --Robb "There were so many good videos this year!" Alvey
  11. I have to say that for me, coastering in California is very 'average' at best. Sure like EBL said we have 'year round parks', and while SFMM has a LOT of coasters, they don't have that many 'stand out' coasters. Same with Knott's. Technically, Knott's probably has a better selection of coasters, but both parks seem to be run fairly mediocre lately. Disney on the other hand is a great run park, but we haven't gotten our season passes renewed in 6 months, and quite honestly, we haven't missed it. In fact, CA as a whole has very few stand out rides for the amount of coasters we have. The ratio is terrible! What I miss is living on the east coast and having my pick of most of those parks that Ted listed above. I'd much rather do without coasters for 4-6 months out of the year, than have medicore rides all year long. Besides, flights to FL from just about anywhere on the east coast are VERY cheap if you need your fix during winter! When the ONLY choices are SFMM, Knott's, Disney, PGA, SCBB, SFMW, Legoland, and a couple of other smaller parks, that's not a BAD selection, but nowhere near as good as having Knoebel's, Kennywood, Hershey, SFA, SFNE, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, SFGAdv, PKD, BGW, etc all within reach. I can think of at least one coaster at each of those parks that is better than 98% of all the coasters at the CA parks. --Robb "Having Vegas 4 hours away helps make up for the overall average park selection in CA" Alvey
  12. Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but the game had gotten a lot of GREAT reviews. http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=448553 http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=456422 http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=447350 http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=447607 I'm just curious. What made it the "worst game you've ever played?" And had I worked on it would you have liked me less??? Personally, I think Finest Hour is actually pretty damn good. Especially compared to the most recent MoH offerings. --Robb "I might not have worked on it, but I'm involved with the franchise." Alvey
  13. Here's another neon coaster. This one is a little more difficult. I'll give you Elissa's left nut if you can figure it out:
  14. ^ The store is all Paypal: http://www.themeparkreview.com/store.htm If you want to send me a check in US$ (it would have to be an international money order) let me know. But Paypal is the easiest way to go, which is why we set up the store like that. --Robb

    donkey?

^ No idea really. Just something completely random that's been with our site forever. --Robb
  16. ^ Unfortunatly, we're not going to be able to bring any shirts with us to Europe. We've got enough to bring as it is for a 3 week trip! We can ship to Europe, that's not a problem! Just visit the store for more details. http://www.themeparkreview.com/store.htm --Robb
  17. ^ Let's just say that too many people out there made incorrect assumptions about it, and I didn't like being accused of things I didn't do. So I pulled it. --Robb
  18. ^ It's gone forever. --Robb
  19. Just a little note...turns out we have room for 20 total. --Robb "Let's fill up that roll call!" Alvey
  20. That is indeed Mantis. Now can you guess this "neon coaster"
  21. Here's another "neon coaster" for you to guess:
  22. It actually was more Elissa's design since she was the one working with the artist! I think the Donkey's name should be "AssTums" --Robb
  23. We did a Buzzsaw Falls segment on our Volume 3 DVD. --Robb "We can't post everything on the website!" Alvey
  24. ^ Awesome!!! It's been too many years Jeff! Can't wait to catch up! We are now booking a 2nd table so we'll have room for 16! --Robb (& Elissa too)
