  1. Here's some GoPro action from the lift of the tophat.
  2. Perhaps Berghain should buy it and make it to one big night club/theme park. All the worlds club kids are already making their pilgrims to Berlin so just another way to capitalize on their deep pockets.
  3. Peter, just so you know, awesome updates!
  4. www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=66392&p=1365830&hilit=ai+pioppi#p1365830
  5. Maybe they learned something from the experience of building Krake?
  6. Ah, a good point! However I'm still guessing Gerstlauer on this one considering the history Hansa Park and Gerstlauer have together.
  7. Hansa-Park made a press release today... translated using google and some guessing from my part. Anyone who's fluent with German is free to correct me. www.hansapark.de/de/presse/pressemeldungen/pressemeldungen/article/kaernan-kommt-hansa-park-baut-hyper-coaster "Kärnan" comes - HANSA-PARK builds a HYPER COASTER For three years Germany's only theme park by the sea questioned their guests. How do you envision the next big attraction? Should it be a fast coaster? For families? With thrill factor? Or would you prefer an elaborate theme ride? For the first time in the history of the HANSA-PARK, visitors and fans had the opportunity to concretely and directly influence the largest ever investment in the future of the park during it's extensive and intensive planning phase. And so they have decided : Kärnan comes, HANSA-PARK builds a HYPER COASTER! The groundbreaking ceremony is planned for later this year. The construction period will be 1 ½ years. Until the opening in 2015 there will be a time of speculation. Even the guests and the majority of fans have wanted: "We want as long as possible puzzle over the details. " Therefore, only one is officially established as of today: Kaernan coming! More soon at http://www.kärnan.de Look forward to an exciting 2014 and Kärnan 2015. A concept art released by Hansa-Park So from the image my guess is that it'll be a Gerstlauer Infinity coaster with possibly a vertical lift and drop inside the Kärnan tower (nice, it's a Swedish theme!). The coaster will feature a 16 passenger cars with lapbars. No words what the final height will be. The real Kärnan tower is 38 meters high but I suspect this version will be higher.
  8. Interesting how they're building this coaster with here and there sections of track. So far they've built 1st drop into the 1st corkscrew, 1st swooping turn and 1st launch, half of the 2nd corkscrew to the 2nd downhill turn, the 2nd launch, and now they've put up a section of the airtime hump over the escalator. Helix Facebook Certainly not the way B&M constructs their roller coasters.
  9. Excellent update Loefet! Been waiting all day long for this and I'm satisfied Can't wait to enter the park and see the train swosh down that turn after the first corkscrew. Colours of the support and track looks very fitting with the surrounding area and Liseberg's colour palette.
  10. Some pictures from Liseberg's inofficial Helix facebook page... Second launch with catwalks installed Supports for the turn after the tophat and hill One half of the first corkscrew is up! Helix - Inofficial site
  11. Tivoli has released a rendering of the new peaks of Rutschebanen they'll build for it's 100th anniversary next year. You'll be able to ride Rutschebanen until new year's eve which will then undergo the refurbishment for the 2014 season. New peaks for 2014
  12. Starting this Tivoli thread as I thought this wonderful park needs one. Everything Tivoli newsworthy in here then. Tivoli Gardens TPR Park Index page Tivoli Gardens 2012 November 5th, 2012 - Tivoli Gardens announces expansion for 2013 2013 April 3rd, 2013 - Rutschebanan celebrates 100th anniversary 2014 November 7th, 2013 - Tivoli releases new renderings of Rutschebanen
  13. So am I the only one who thinks of the good ol' days of RCT and launching a train into it's doom up the ramp?
  14. Thank you Loefet for the weekly update. The massive panorama pic was awesome!
  15. Isn't it normal for Intamin to make a pull-through with a two car train?
  16. Nice photo report you have there! My, oh my how the park has grown since my first visit some 15 years ago when the only main ride was the log flume. It was a great park then, it's an awesome park today (well when I visited last time in 2009 it was awesome)
  17. Oh that bring me some memories back from my childhood when my home park had an insane Music Express (Named Disco Jet). It was running at an incredible speed and had airtime over the little humps. If you're sitting three in a row the outer guy was in for some squashing pain (but fun for the people on the sadistic side... like me ) However the height limitation wasn't that high as I could ride it as a kid and over time kids were getting flung out on three different occasions. Simply said they got rid of the ride
  18. Insane with no weight balancing rules applied made me scream like a little girl. Also had a beyond awesome ride on a Huss booster at Hamburg SommerDOM, wish there would be more of them.
  19. I think an Intamin Mega Coaster á la Skyrush or I305 would put the cherry on top. Oh well one can only dream
  20. Define a lot and any source for this or just a personal opinion?
  21. Aint it pretty? Eclipse Source Gröna Lund Facebook.
  22. Going up? Check out some of the past pages and you can see it has been topped for a couple of months It's now under testing procedures.
  23. So for you guys who are planning on going on the TPR Scandi trip next year you'll be able to ride Tivoli's oldest roller coaster Rutschebanen which is celebrating a century since it opened next year. The soon to be 100 year old coaster will be getting some well deserved facelift as it'll get back it's original design of mountain peaks and waterfalls. Copenhagen city council had the the mountain tops removed in the 1920's as they didn't like the idea of the sights of mountains when you exited the station building across the street. Rutschebanen will feature two mountain peaks with the highest one at 26m high and a waterfall with a combined fall of 20m. The investment will cost Tivoli 30 million kronor ($5.2million). politiken.dk/ibyen/nyheder/gadeplan/ECE1934449/millionrenovering-skal-bringe-tivolis-rutsjebane-100-aar-tilbage-i-tiden/ PS: Is there no official Tivoli Garden thread?
