  1. Rob, Shockwave above Mindbender? Where did my favorite Schwarzkopf end up for you? Both are great, but I'm partial to my first looping coaster.
  2. Answer locked. Six duckies! Final answer! Thanks for more fun than the law should allow BIG MIKE! Glad to know you've been renewed for another season.
  3. I don't have the time or inclination to photoshop, but I'll throw out an idea for someone else to reap fame and glory from... I give you..."Nicholas Cage on Rampage"
  4. Wow, I didn't think Maverick on Maverick could be topped, but I am mightily impressed with Yacko, Wacko & Jacko on Baco. The ANIMANIACS Rule! Come on sing with me..."Its time for Animaniacs and we're zany to the max..." TPR theme song anyone...?
  5. Birmingham reporting in with vote! Good Luck!
  6. DING DING DING....We have a winner! As far I'm concerned the contest is over. LOL
  7. Nine little ducks! Final answer! Hey Mike! Thanks for more awesome fun and games! Muchas gracias!
  8. Big Mike! You are da MAN! I have been thoroughly enjoying the road show since day one. Too bad my visits to BGE, KD, HW, SFga & SFStl didn't coordinate with yours. I predict you'll have a great time on Evel Knievel. P.S. There are ten ducks!
  9. ROTFL! Great report! Although if mullets and white trash are your thang you really can't beat Alabama Vision Adventure Land. As a resident of the greater Birmingham area I can vouch for it. HA HA! Actually, the most appropriate name for the park would be Larryland, in honor of Larry Langford who was instrumental in getting the park built. He spent $90 million in taxpayer money, fired the successful manager and watched the park go bankrupt. Now he is mayor of Birmingham and there isn't a hare-brained scheme he's not willing to spend public funds on!
  10. Awesome photos, Chuck! My family and I are looking forward to our visit of your fair city. In fact we leave Friday AM driving from Birmingham, Alabama. It will be my family's first visit to Busch Euroburg and first trip since the park opened in 1975. My son and I are anxiously awaiting our Domination @ KD as well. Thanks for all your recent updates and I dig the Who reference as well!
  11. I was one of the fortunate few to visit The World of Sid & Marty Kroft. I'd have been 12 the time. Unfortunately, I don't recall much about the place. I remember my favorite aunt who was a long time Atlanta resident taking me and my younger brother for a visit. I remember being a huge fan of the Krofts' TV shows. I recall that my hometown of Columbus, Ga did not have an NBC affiliate until the early 70's and I always remember what a treat it was to watch HR Pufnstuf while visiting relatives in Atlanta. I guess we could say the reason the park failed is it wasn't that memorable. I have vivid memories (and family photos) of my early visits to SFOG, but all I recall of The World of Sid & Marty Kroft was that I had been there. I sure wish I had something else to share. Shane, this has been an awesome thread and I want to be sure and express my appreciation. My 11 year old son is getting quite a history lesson about one of his favorite subjects.
  12. "The Ballad of Mr Six" is a hoot! ROTFL! I know I'm showing my age here...but I loved hearing the theme song from "The Courtship of Eddie's Father." Now there's some classic '60's TV for ya. Bill Bixby in his pre-Hulk days. LOL The new DVD looks very interesting. Thanks, Guy; I loved "It Came From the 4th Dimension"! Now if I can only make it to Magic Mountain before it completely slips into the next dimension....
  13. Sweeet! Knoebel's looks like loads of fun! I hope to finally make it there myself next year. Thanks for an entertaining TR!
  14. While I also will hate seeing Deja Vu go (over dozen visits to the park in it's lifetime and only one ride on it!), what I want to know is why in the heck is Thomas being placed in the Southern USA (Lickskillet) section of the park instead of Britain? Hello! I know theming has never been a priority at SF, but couldn't we have put a little more thought into the location?
  15. I have a much better idea for SFFT's Batman clone.... JAMES BROWN: The Ride - in honor of the hardest working coaster design in history! Why not? This coaster design has kept B&M and Six Flags busy for years!
  16. All hail King Wes! I hereby crown thee TPR's TRM "Trip Report Master"!
  17. Hey, I resent my state being singled out for stupidity! While certain citizens of this state are poster children for the Darwin Awards, we aren't all ignoramuses! Some of us can even spell! I chalk the bad behavior up to the lack of quality roller coasters in the state. There are no B&M's or Intamins to be found, so might as well pound on someone for line cutting! coaster_dad (Please note that my tongue is firmly in cheek as I type this! LOL)
  18. Let's see... I'm not a redneck, nor an Alabama or Auburn fan; I don't think W bumperstickers are cool...WHAT THE HECK am I doing living in Dixie for 20 years! LOL!
  19. Let's see... I've been to SFOG, SFNO, SFAW, SFFT, SFOT. SFKK & SFA. SFOG would be my #1 (Goliath & Mindbender, YEAH BABY!), SFOT (Titan & Mr. Freeze) & SFFT (Superman: Krypton Coaster) are my other two favorites. But even my worse day at a SF park beats workin' for a livin'!
  20. Congrats! Mindbender is my first coaster with an inversion (1978) as well as my son's first (2002). Welcome to the big time! HA HA!
  21. Hey, Joe...Thanks for the updates. I agree Coke rules! So R & E were able to get you out of filing papers for a few days...
  22. Favorite B & M's...can't go wrong with any of 'em. I have yet to try a Dive machine. Goliath @ SFOG is my #1 steel coaster, so I'll vote hyper. Some other favorite B & M's are: Superman: Krypton Coaster Dueling Dragons Hulk Georgia Scorcher Great Bear
  23. Mindbender @ SFOG! Schwarzkopf excellence...still a great ride 28 years later!
