Campanella construction company? I wonder if a certain *celebrity* enthusiast is related? -

Nice work! I'd say it's most definitely the off season Go Green. -
SCAD Towers - Where Are They?
rollocoast replied to downunder's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
IIRC, SCAD towers have been gone from IAAPA since the accident... Which isn't exactly suprising... I'm not even sure if they company is still in business. -

Perhaps Snoopy and the gang are going to be "released" from the park and some new characters are coming. I'm personally a fan of Snoopy and the gang, and while I can't really stand the Nick crap that's out these days, it's not really going to affect me, as I spend more time pooing at the park than I do in the kids areas or with the costumed characters. -

I have my opinion and you have yours. I'm sure there are coasters that I like and you hate, but I don't go around saying things like that and wishing pain upon people. You're messed up man. Thank You! Um.. He's saying you're screwed up dude. Try re-reading his post again. -

OK - That's easily one of the dumbest things I've ever read. -

TPR 2008 Trips! Download the flyers here!
rollocoast replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm really interested about the east coast trip. If everything works itself out, it'd be myself, Nuss, Schaffer, and Steve's friend Chris. I will completely understand if you decide the 4 of us have to ride in our own "special bus." -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
rollocoast replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is Cedar Point we're talking about. It'd be 50 feet taller but 35% slower, and with a cycle time under 20 seconds. It's still August. Relax. -
Panoramic shots from TPR's Spain trip.

There is some really great work in there. Definitely impressed. What camera did you shoot these with and at what ISO? Just curious. -
SFOG's Goliath's New Terrible Locker Policy
rollocoast replied to Ccron10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the reason so many people are annoyed by this is because it's an obvious money-making scheme. As others have said in the beginning of the thread, Cedar Point did this for YEARS and noone complained. Why the double standard? -
As the others have said, get an adjustable strap for your glasses and you should be set on most coasters. Just keep it tight and the glasses should be fine. Now as for your DSLR, bring a small point and shoot along with your DSLR. Before each ride, put your DSLR in a locker, then use your point-n-shoot until your off the ride. It's simply not worth risking the loss of your equipment. It's way too valuable. Unless I'm working, I know I'd much rather just take a nice snapshot with a point-n-shoot and still have the DSLR for another day rather than risk the loss of my DSLR and being stuck with a point-n-shoot for every shot for the rest of the trip.

Thanks for all the work on the TR. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading through everything and checking out all the pics! It really looks like you had an absolute blast. Maybe next year I'll have do a TPR trip. Could be interesting... Thanks again! -
Those videos are great! Thanks for the links.

No, Eric's got the right idea, even if "tilted" wasn't the best word. The track isn't completely level. When you're launching, you're actually going slightly up, so if in the case of a rollback, the train can roll backwards to the start of the launch and try it again. As for the crane, eh whatever. -
I fully understand that this post will mostlikely be deleted (and big-up's to R&E&Goons for the great job they do monitoring), but I figured I'd give it a shot anyway. ^ See that's the catch. You shouldn't get caught if you're smart about it. Filming on a ride like a swing is effing retarded. You're asking to get caught! If you're going to film on a ride "illegally", then use your freakin' head! Be smart about it! Anywhere that there is a camera or an operator that could possibly see anything, hide it. Hide your camera from on-ride photos, lifthills, and brake runs - plus the (even more) obvious places like in the queue and while entering/exiting the station. Disclaimer: It's not my place to tell anyone whether or not they should or shouldn't follow the rules. I don't work for a park, and quite frankly I'm pretty apathetic. It's your choice - You're all big boys (and maybe a few girls), and you should be smart enough to make your own decisions. I follow the rules now... Although I freely admit I was pretty stupid back in the day. If you want to risk it, then no-one will change your mind. You'll eventually have to suffer the consequences on your own... And there are always consequences. Personally, for me the whole "sneaking around" thing got pretty old. I'd rather just enjoy my day, ride a few rides and have a couple beers rather than watch my back all day long and try and have an alibi. Ya never know who's following and watching you... Just trust me on that. LOL!
