Agreed, unfortunately my parents thought a 1990 ford escort with 95,000 miles and no AC would do the trick. But the sparkomatic tape deck that came with it was awesome. It would play at least 4 songs before slowing down and then every song was sung by Barry White. As for the poll, I would probably go with the Mazda. The Civic is the #1 stolen car every year, and I think the Mazda looks a little nicer as well. I just realized at age 16, I was driving my moms station wagon (with permit) and then a mini van when I got my license. I didn't get my own car until I was 18. Oh well, I got a Jeep now. The back is big enough for an air mattress and a 6' 1" person to lay down in it if you know what I mean. Plus, you could get "lost" in the woods and have "mechanical problems" and have to be away from civilization for a day or two before you can get it "fixed". If you know what I mean.

I know in my state, cops determine fault for points system on the license. Insurance wise, they sometimes don't go by this, as I have friends who have had issues with fault being determined. Fortunately, the only wreck I have had that wasn't my fault and went to insurance, it was pretty clear cut their fault and their insurance had everything covered and fixed within a week.

Find a beater Jeep (or just a beater car) (or a cheap one). Learn to drive on rear wheel drive vehicle and a stick vehicle and Front wheel drive and transmissions won't be any issue later. Chances are that more than likely that you will have a wreck within a year of getting your license (statics). Bad thing about being young, if you do have a wreck, chances are that any slight question of fault, you will be given it. Cops are like that. Just something I would throw into the conversation. If you get a car that is good cheap enough, save up money and just buy a new car in a few years without getting a loan. Just an idea to throw out there.

It isn't just California....in my town, we had the main branch. Then four other locations for the Library. The library had a bunch of its funding cut due to the state capping property taxes at 1% for private owners, 2% for businesses and 3% for rental properties. The city lost about 2 million dollars of its funding and the county had 3 million cut from its budget. The libraries lost funding closed 3 of the "mini" branches and now the only two left is the main one in downtown and the mini branch in West Terre Haute. They also are now closed on Saturdays when they used to be open. When they enacted these tax caps, there were a bunch of people for it. Now that they are in effect, quite a few people are complaining about services being cut. Duh, you cut taxes, you going to lose services. More tax income for the towns and counties will be happening next year when the caps are at the full cap.

I predict the Colts D is going to chew up the Seahawks on Sunday. And Manning will have a money day. The shocker for me this year is the Titans. Last year looked like the team to beat. This year, Collins looks horrible. I almost thought they should put in Vince Young during this last game. How can a team that was 10-0 to start last year start 0-3. Colts have a nice young reciever corps right now anyway with some trusted talent. Garcon is going to be an awesome player for the Colts. Plus Clark and many others. Donald Brown is a driving running back, I would say better than Addai. Addai is good, but he is missing in some areas that Brown isn't.

I don't count any game the Colts play as a given, but the tough one coming up is the bye week, We never beat them. No one does, they are just that good. In all seriousness, from the way the Colts have been playing to this point, things are looking great. This Sunday they play Seattle and the Bears beat Seattle, so that is a statement there. Then they got the Titans, who at this point hasn't won a game, but the Titans always play tough against the Colts so that is the wildcard there. Then the bye week and then the Rams, another non win team so far this season. Again, I don't like to give it to the Colts the win early, but looks like it could be a fun filled 3 games for Manning and my fantasy football team. I just picked up Pierre Garcon because of his playing during the last game. After that set, got the 49'ers, Texans and then the Patriots. I hope Bob Sanders is back soon, he may not make all the plays, but he is always there for plays to help.

Having driven a Mazda 6, they are quite possibly the most fun car I have driven on the highway. Five speed auto stick in the one I had was fun. But I would go with the Honda, that 3 is just plain ugly. Looks like the designer just wanted a front end as huge as possibly and then he just put a smile in the grill. Of course, if I had that kind of money saved up to spend on a new car, I would be getting a Jeep and lifting and all kinds of things.
