^ For a hand built coaster very.
-
Played around with some textures from that great page that a friend recommended, and it turned out awesome. Good thing that I did this now since there is a bug in Wings that makes it difficult to texture things on large objects, but fortunately there is a easy work around for that.

Have started to add the queue inside the station, and yesterday I found some features in Wings3d that save me a lot of time while doing them.

The Official "TPR Japan Trip 2007" Thread

Those Drunken Barrels were insane, when we rode them we tried to spin them as fast as possible, and every Japanese just starred at us laughing, even them on the ride. It was awesome. The Fake Drop was a nice touch on a drop tower, wonder if there is more towers that have them. Surf Coaster was awesome, especially in the back. -
Close up on the Gyro-Drop car mid drop. Gyro Drop Station. Looking down one of the swings. Both the Drop tower and the Screaming Swing is now 95% complete (except texturing). Now the station is the next project to get done, it's currently around 50-75% complete (except for texturing). So tomorrow evening and this weekend I will spend as much time on this project to at least get a bulk of the station done. I will still be posting updates, but not much overview stuff.
-
Since I study about 8+ hours a day, I don't really have that much time to work on this coaster, but I will do my best. Added some stuff to the tower.
-
^ I use a program called Wings 3d to create my objects, since I couldn't wrap my head around how OC works. Wings 3d is open source and free and works brilliantly for me, and I think that the finished product is a lot better then anything OC can create. The Screaming Swing and the Gyro Drop is the result of many hours working with that program.

Textures and colors will be added before release.
-
^^ If you are going for realism, then you really should drop one train and do something about the supports, since most of them don't have the strength to hold up the track. But it's a nice smooth kiddy coaster.

Have been working on an NL project for a few months now and about 50% of the work is now done. There is still a lot of 3d work left, but it's getting there, too bad that I don't have much time to work on it. Much of the track and some 3d objects are actually taken from some unreleased projects I have been working on in the past. Pictures: Got Airtime? Layout before 3ds. Drop. Arc over the queue entrance. Launch? Station Theming. (Old picture, there is a lot more stuff here now) Themed Screaming Swing. Screaming Swing queue area. After adding a couple of kilometers of fencing yesterday (a lot more will be added before it's done), I started to blend in my drop tower into the scenery.

Avalon (NL)

Smooth, good, twisty track. I really liked the compactness of the ride, much like Dæmonen. Need some work though.... You need to heart-line the Zero-g. The track doesn't pass Tunnel-Test. E-stop could be hazardous due to that you have set the trim brake as a block, and that the train (when e-stopped) doesn't stop until the first car is inside the station. -

Sky IV [NL]

^ G's are fine, anything over 5.5 on an Intamin is too much. The track is pretty good, haven't seen any good twisty shuttles like this one in a while now. But too much lateral wobbling for my liking. -
2008 Park Trip Plans
Loefet replied to carolinacaniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
April - May: working on a trip Power Park, actually my closest park which is about a few hours drive due south. May - June: I'm planning a crazy credit trip, which I won't give any details for at the moment. June - July depending on the TPR Europe trip, going to meet the people at Heide Park (at least), and on the way to and from Heide Park stop by some parks in Denmark (Tivoli Friheden, Djurs Sommerland, etc.). August there is the TPR East Coast Trip. And in between these trips I will always visit Liseberg a couple of times and Tusenfryd depending of the retracking/change of trains of Thundercoaster. -

Got myself with Hello Kitty at USJ and I didn't have to wait in any line (I have a picture to proove it), but then again at Fuji-Q we waited for 3+ hours for Eejanaika, so I know how good Japanese, American and Canaidian are in line.... Thanks. It looked like a normal plastic one, and when the mechanic came the cycled the train once to see if it got blowed away by the passing train, but it didn't and then some guy climbed up an grabbed it. -

Great PTR so far, really brings back a lot of fond memories.... I'm not to sure about the awesome operations, since when I was standing in line for it they stopped the attraction and called in a mechanic, because someone had dropped a candy wrapper onto the netting under the track for queue protection. This closed down the ride at least 15 minutes. Well I got plenty of rides before we left for Expoland and rode Raptor without MCBR, awesome. -
I just wonder what will happen if you go from a normal wooden wheel layout with the side friction wheels on the inside (Arrow style track), to a track/wheel layout with the side friction wheels on the outside (Intamin style track). With the tight specifications that the p'n'p track can be manufactured in, could this be a way to further smooth out the ride on the new breed of woodies?

Favorite Arrow Coaster
Loefet replied to CdnbMatt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not to hard really... Eagle Fortress is awesome. And then there is Fantasia Special, a big Arrow looper that is smooth no bashing at all. -
Good news everyone. Just came back from a short trip to Liseberg, and I just have to say that the rides on Balder was much better then the ones after they replaced the wheels this summer, even if it was just 10°C (50F). The first ride of tonight were slow due to the cold, the train just dragged along the turns, but as the ride got warmed up it also speed up and the last rides were pretty good (but not as good as a warm summer day). So the mediocre rides of Balder is no more, and next summer the rides will be as good as ever. Anyway this was a perfect day to visit Liseberg, 00 minutes queue for everything.

^I know, but I wont spoil it for the rest of you, and I can really agree with the number one on this list. Good to finally see a picture of the cat I have heard so much about. I will probably post the picture today, since I am currently transfering them from my Laptop, so be patient. O, no I didn't. I was all about Wiiiiiii!!!!I really wished that the ride would be longer then it was, because it is awesome. Best launch coaster ever. Hope that my measurements of the ride came out good, haven't come around to see what they look like yet. EDIT: Are you happy now Brian? -
Tobu Zoo's New Coaster
Loefet replied to Airtime&Gravity's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Were at Tobu Zoo this Sunday and took some pictures of the construction. I like the OSTR:s and added T-bars on this picture, well the original picture is of Superman Escape, so it will probably have the standard bar in the end. Oooo, new coaster trough the fence. From the G-Max queue. From the Monorail queue-line. And to finish it off, 2 from the ferris-wheel. -

Loefet replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No, since it will probably be easier to go back to TD then Tobu, but most we were there for the credits, and 3 is better then 1, and we got some nice photos o fthe coaster under construction as well. You should know that I almost couldn't walk the mornings after that, and I had pain in my legs for several days after Disnay, but better that then standing in line waiting, and not getting as many rides as we did. Miss you all, hopefully we all meet again in the future!!!
