The thing that worries me is that the storm seems to be tracking west of NO. I was under the impression that the worst storm surges are on the eastern sides (or northern if it hits a north-south coast) of hurricanes due to the direction of rotation.

^That's pretty damn bad. I got to around level 35

It's quite possible that we rode with/behind you. I know I recognized the guy we rode with, but now, i can't seem to recall who it was. Unfortunately, because we were only there for a day, we really only hung out with people I already knew from other trips. -

I really need to get down there. Matt and I drove right by it on the way down to meet you guys at SFGAdv. (Somehow i managed to come home a slightly different way while the navigator was sleeping and didn't go by it). I love whips. They are probably my favorite flat ride ever, maybe with the exception of Bouncey Bouncey, Jason, you wouldn't have ridden alone had we been there. -
That's a very pretty waterfall, even under normal conditions. It's a very unique rock formation, or at least I've never seen one like it.

Quite an odd fundraiser. Congratulations on raising as much as you did. As for skydiving. What did you think. I did a tandem jump a few years back. While I was glad I did it, I would NEVER do it again.

^The do make water rides like that. Mack water coasters are great and they definately do more than just lift you to the top of a hill and then splash you down. But if everyone queues up for stuff like this, what incentive is there for parks to build more elaborate (read more expensive) water rides. Jon *I miss European water rides* Azevedo -
Using Custom Supports Question.

Have you gotten out of the mode where you place scenery? They have always dissappeared when in any other mode besides the scenery placing mode for me. If this isn't the case for you, then I am sorry, but I have no idea. -

I want to comment on the whole "OMG this is unsupported" comments. While it does look VERY unsupported, things can be deceiving. In the lateral direction (ie side to side from the direction you are moving) the elevator columns are spaced fairly far apart and connected with a fairly big piece at the top. This wide stance (a la Larry Craig) makes it more stable. In the direction you are traveling, the chute itself supports the elevator. Again, making a wide stance. -

^ I would certainly hope so considering you can get to it from the waterpark part of the park. -

I love the double elevator. I am sure it will be a bit unnerving when the boat tilts while going up the tower. I am a little surprised there is no sort of splash zone, perhaps the wave is too big to make it safe. -

I love this little park, which is why I am starting to think of it as my home park rather than SFNE. Nice report. The key to wildcat is to ride in the middle of the car (aka not over a wheel). It makes the ride much more tolerable. -
TPR Versus the King Cake!
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Unique thankyou gift. (I hope you get a kick (in the intestines) from mine) Being from the northeast, King Cakes aren't all that common around here so I am sad to say I have never partook in this tradition. The one time I was in New Orleans i had a killer stomach virus so i only ate crackers -
Even though my Ipod is often in my car, I often listen to the radio anyway. I actually like the morning banter on my way into work and will switch the stations to the one that is talking at the moment. This in combination with the local talk radio is the only way I really get local news. At work it's the ipod or pandora if I forgot the pod in the car (and i'm feeling lazy) or at home.

I was going to say that I really didnt midn the family edition once that Jersey Family was Philiminated but then I remembered that those two damn annoying kids. Ug. The sibling sets were great. The three brothers were also cute. Jon *little children should not be on reality shows* Az

Or the Wonder Years?! The lack of mentioning these outstanding shows probably since most of the peeps posting in this thread are teenagers and never would have seen them. Those that are old enough to remember them are too old to remember them.

While y'all are reminiscing about these 90's shows, I'll stick with stuff like fraggle rock and the muppet babies (as well as the whole Disney Afternoon Block)

Looking forward to the start of this again. A couple teams I look forward to from the bios: ANita and Arthur, and Nick and Starr. I would love to do this sort of thing with my sister.

This park (parc?) was great. The log flume line moved much quicker than you'd expect. It didn't have any turntables that I can remember but it was a lot of fun. As for the evac, we weren't evaced from the midcourse, it was the long end break run. -
