Awesome. Like I said I'm in unless its crazy expensive... but no tpr event has been too expensive so I am optimistic. I am really looking forward to this, and sorry for asking as I know many have so far... these events are all awesome. And my parents said I could pay up to seventy five dollars for the even... so I am assuming I'm ok as that is more than a full days admission anyway. I cant wait to finally meet everyone.

Hey Robb, I know there are very few details, but do you have any ball park estimate for non season passholders? I have sixty five dollars from my allowance/Christmas but was not sure if I should save more. I am planning on going for sure, but I am bringing guests who are on the fence. No big deal or anything like that... just curious.

The "Preview" Thread

^ Is that no CS? Thats awesome! -
1. If the stuff on the site will be the same I am totally in. Not to say I would not become a premium member, just not necessarily right away. Also, I am for the trip idea pretaining there will still be regular TPR trips and events. One of the main reasons I like TPR is not having a site fee and events fee. I would not mind paying for exclusive events, but am not for this if events such as WCB and stuff like that become exclusive. However, I would/will join at some point for sure. 2. The site is really good as it is. I agree with some others of maybe a chat room or thread, but this sounds good for fourty dollrs. 3. I am interested! 4. This may be somewhat unapealing for some new members, but if the site is the same it should be ok. I cant think of any real good reason why not to join though, and fourty dollars is a god price.

Anti Hero-God Forbid

^ Agreed. It was very entertaining, but it felt more like an action movie. And the entire story was almost to much for me to take seriously. I would recommend it for something fun and entertaining to watch, but like Chuck said do not go expecting it to be great. Also, there was almost too much comedy in the film for its own good, IMO.

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
the ghost replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The main reason Golden Ticket Awards are rigged is that there are no nods to Disney or Universal. I can see a Disney ride not winning, but I would much rather spend a day at a Disney or Universal Park than Cedar Point. Dragons and Mummy are both easily in my top ten, and are fairly highly ranked in Golden Tickets. The sad part is I have been on no top rides, but hopefully I'll get on a TPR tour sometime and fix that as well as improve my depressing credit count. -
I love Disneyland during Christmas and am kind of sad that when I go back in Jnuary it will all be gone. I am a huge Nightmare fan and somewhat of a Disney purist(and fanboy) so although I love the Nightmare version a little more than the regular version I have to say bye to Jack. Did you see Jack and Sally walking around in New Orleans Square? They are probably the most elaborate masks in Disneyland as Jacks is latex so the mouth moves and Sally's mkeup and stitch work are amazing. Anyway, awesome trip report.

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
the ghost replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awww, I have not been on any of the top rides. However, in my opinion based on the pov I like Apollo(my current coaster tied for number 1 with Tatsu) better than Diamondback. Intamin is still being great, and in a few months at WCB I will ride my first GCI.(if Terminator were longer I think it would have made the top list) -
^How did you do that? That is so realistic I was literally trying to figure out what park it was from. That is the single most realistic thing(outside of nl) I have ever seen. I want to see a RCT3 thread from you soon, you may be the next Kracken. I dont really want to explain about Kracken because its weird and complicated, but he has some amazing parks on here. He was probably second only to CD5. Also, the park is looking great so far. Probably one of the best on the boards and maybe even second best after charleston currently.

Tukantra-NL

Yeah, it just did not work. I cheated quite a bit also, the chaser train is launched at 10 miles per hour after an extremely small piece of station before the main station. I like my rides to be unique, and the chasing system seemed pretty unique and kind of fun. In fact, probably a little scarier than a dueling coaster simply because you cant say "we wont collide" because there is only one track. -

^ Thanks. I forgot to mention the lifthill thing. The simulator kept trying to turn the lift into a break run due to the close dispatch. That was the original idea, but the concept works better if the trains are chasing each other. The mini lifts were my "cleverish" way to make it so the trains would not stop mid lift. Thanks for the comments. I kind of threw this together, but I liked the concept so I decided to post. -

Are those themed arch things supports? This is looking awesome, and somewhat scary. This is probably the freakiest looking ride I have ever seen, I would not ride if I was young. -
Tukantra Info: Coaster Type: Wooden Manufacturer: GCI Trains: Millenium Flyers Height: 96 feet Track Length: 3049 feet Top Speed: 45 miles per hour Terrain Based PLEASE READ The coaster is realistic in terms of speed/ height/ and track/elements. The coaster is not entirely realistic as the second train is somewhat launched out of the station so it is able to be near the first train. The reason this is done is to make sense with the story line. The final break run also needed to be somewhat altered so the train comes into the station fast, however it maintains green g forces in all categories. Storyline- The once mighty Sioux Indian tribe had a traditional custom where for a member of the tribe to become a man they needed to catch a Tukantra bird. The Tukantra bird is the fastest known bird in the world, and is considered to be one of the hardest to catch due to its common twisted, swift movements. The first train of the ride is the Tukantra bird while the second is the young brave. The coaster is somewhat conseptual as the cars are sent out of the station near one another to simulate the brave chasing the tukantra. tukantra finale.nltrack LOGO

This looks pretty cool so far, but Accelerator is 205 feet tall. If my calculations are correct(I kind of suck at math though) then the coaster will be 13 feet tall. How are you going to make it this tall? Also, to scale it you divide 205 by fifteen, correct? -
Appalachia (NL)
the ghost replied to HCLcoasters's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
First of all, you may want to make your topic title/topic more discriptive. Secondly, the coaster itself was weird in a goode way. After the first lift it was like prowler, then the second half was like boulder dash. It was a pretty smart combo, but a little weird. -

Most Overrated coaster?
the ghost replied to BlackWidow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's not a roller coaster but Mission Space was overhyped. It's not that fun, theres just a lot of force exerted on you. -
Seriously I am so happy for this. I always want to like HISTA but its just not very good. Every time I see it it pisses me off because it is a semi cool concept that has been dead for a long time. I have enjoyed every other 3d show Disney has had to offer. Also, I saw MILF for the first time this summer and was actually somewht impressed with it. I liked how both times we saw the show it was completely different, pretty entertaining.
