What Ride Have You Ridden the Most?
the ghost replied to Randomman295's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Easy... California Screamin! I probably ride about once a week considering I live less than 30 minutes from Disney... that and because nothing is a better study break than being down with school at noon, and being home by three after going to Disney for about 2 hours! Matterhorn is probably second. As for dark rides I would probably have to go with Mansion, probably just followed by pirates, but I also tend to frequent Jungle Cruise, which does not really count. For flats... Does Tower count? It's technically a drop tower... just better than most towers. If not it's probably The Swings, both in it's current form and as Orange Swinger. For non Disney it would either be Supreme Scream or Riptide, but I only make it out to Knott's about once a year, but I always ride these two! -
Frühlingsdom and Osterwiese carnivals
the ghost replied to simon8899's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh European carnivals... crazy in all of the right ways! I will now be the one thousandth(or so) TPR member to say this, but the awesome fairs in Europe make me VERY jealous! That being said a flat ride more intense than mission space orange seems like it would make me very sick... the spinning does not bother me, but I don't want to see I'm spinning if that makes sense... everything moving by so fast in a fast circular direction... BLEH! Thanks for sharing! -
Why must people mess with chat? I don't get it. I hate spammers. I troll back, but still, just a waste of time for everyone.

Thread fail! -
Double post(sorry) but as promised here's some new music for the punks and skins of TPR(or maybe I'm the only one besides RD... IDK) but here are some albums, completely free and ready to stream! First off is Off With Their Heads stream of their new album, Home! It's AMAZING and is considered by most to be the current frontrunner for album of the year, at least in the punk community. Good if you like deep vocals, self hatred, and awesome punk rock sound! The entire album is in this playlist put up by Epitaph(the bands label) Direct Hit split with Braver(who I don't like) but if you thought Andrew WK was a party animal check out DH! Your mind will be blown to smithereens! www.punknews.org/bands/directhit As always support local music, support independent music and support your scene! I'll try to stream some ska next posting here! Have fun and rock out! The oi oi oi Ghost

It's 5am and I'm still awake, so I'm just sitting in my room smoking me electric cigarette listening to Stephen King's IT that someone awesome uploaded to youtube! I like audio books, it reminds me of when my parents used to read me stories when I was a kid and is good for when my eyes are too tired to focus on pages.

Holy hell the new Off With Their Heads album is good! I will post a song or two tomorrow(maybe a full stream if available) but it's GOOD! In fact tomorrow I think I will post some new music to this thread... cause as the Streetdog's once said "WE ALL NEED A LITTLE PUNK ROCK AND ROLL!"

Streetlight Manifesto. Favorite "local band" suburban legends. Favorite new discovery of 2012/13 Masked Intruder. I like SO MANY BANDS though!

The RCT/RCT2 Preview Thread
the ghost replied to mcjaco's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Up above is my full scale park, but here's a little hint for a design I will be working on. The coaster will be called El Torro(original, I know) and it will "tell the story" of a wild bull who wreaks havoc on a beautiful farm in the heart of Spain after escaping from it's pen. I am planning on it to be more similar to the GCI version than the intamin version, but it will be an entirely custom designed coaster, not a recreation. That being said it may borrow a few parts from other coaster... maybe even both El Torro's if I want the design to be a bit more original and less based on something else, but I am not remotely close to that process yet, this is the VERY beginning... but I have had the idea for a while to do a coaster themed to an actual bull, but I have wanted to improve my skills before the attempt. Enjoy SCR8.BMP The entrance... I am planning on adding a few more details to what you see here, but everything is a work in progress. SCR7.BMP The Spanish farm will require a lot of beauty and landscaping, so expect a lot of shots similar to this, but similar to a China shop a bull will wreak havoc even in the most beautiful places! -
League of Legends is still awesome!

Best Family Coaster
the ghost replied to Randomman295's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have not ridden Manta yet somehow, but my favorite is Big Thunder Mountain, Disneyland. The front seat has quite a bit of airtime, at least for a family coaster and I love the theming! Non Disney however my favorite family coaster is Sierra Sidewinder, the spinning is fun and if you plan the weight distribution right you can go CRAZY! It should be noted however that I have not ridden Manta. -
Let's look at something like Disneyland's Space Mountain. In my opinion the layout really isn't all that impressive but it becomes an awesome ride due to the darkness and overall "ambiance" of Space, making it an amazing ride. I mean even something like California Screamin, which isn't too heavily themed(unless you cont the wood inspired supports as theming, which I do) fits in with the environment and boardwalk area making it a better ride. Let's look at parks like USF or IOA or even WDW to a degree. Say you were to remove the Mummy's theming or Rock N Roller coasters theming, you would still have a fairly solid ride, but in no way would it be as good as it was with the theming. I said theme parks, environments are cool and I like to walk around and see things, for example I can go to Disneyland nearly weekly and not get bored at all, but I go to Knotts twice a year, once for WCB and once for haunt. I go to SFMM once a year. I like roller coasters, I really really really like roller coasters, but the parks(in terms of the corporate chains) are not as well run, the staffs are slower and not as professional, and the atmosphere often leaves a lot to be desired. Good roller coasters are AWESOME but I can only ride them so many times before I grow tired, but the little details in theme parks or on theme park rides(I have been on haunted mansion probably a hundred times and I am sure I haven't seen every single thing) are what keep me coming back.

^^ OH MY GOD! That is AMAZING! ^ While I am not claiming to be NEARLY at the level of Nin(who is probably one of the top players in the world) I can say that it feels awesome when everything comes together as it should... and for all of our egos. Getting compliments cause your awesome always feels better than getting feedback, even if feed back is more useful! -

the ghost replied to Ccron10's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
What an awesome concept! I saw the Eve model at the end and was like "That trashcan looks a lot like Eve from Wall-E" so I learned my lesson to read the "pre posted" stuff! But yeah, this is awesome and a VERY cool idea! Keep it up! -
^^ LOVE IT! AWESOME!

themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=53056&hilit=thorpe+park+discussion+thread It doesn't seem like you looked that hard... This was one of the first things that came up when I typed "Thorpe Park" into the search bar, which I recommend you learn how to use. -
[RCT3]Evergreen Amusement Park
the ghost replied to Kinderly's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I LOVED that layout! A fairly small and simple coaster(which makes sense for the park) but the pacing was great as was the terrain interaction! Just looks like it would be an absolute blast to ride in real life, and for me I know it's a great in game layout when I wish it were real! Reminds me of Vampire at Chessington or something of that nature... fairly tame, but totally badass! Hoping someone buys this... it has the perfect vibe for a midsize wooden coaster or something like that! -
This is a written rule, but people seem to act like it is not so: NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY ON DARK RIDES EVER! Disney parks allow you to take pictures and record rides as long as there is no flash, but I cannot count the number of times people continually take pictures which are not only blinding, but also ruin the experience! For example, on a recent trip to Disneyland I was riding Haunted Mansion and we were passing by the ballroom when the jackass in the doom buggy next to me decided to take a picture, causing the light to reflect off the nearly invisible glass, blinding us both. Yes, I knew the glass was there... but the guy still ruined the illusion. Also for the most important unwritten rule there is, even if it pretty much just applies to Disney NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER RUIN THE MAGIC! EVER! I have seen quite a few occasions just as a general Disney fans where parents have explained to their (usually very young) children that Mickey Mouse is not real, or that someone is "pretending to be Mickey Mouse" and this just pisses me off! Seriously, it's called magic for a reason, and there is a VERY short amount of time someone is young enough to believe in the magic... so don't ruin it. At Disneyland Mickey is real and all the effects/animatronics in the rides are all real.
